I was watching Pitchmen, mostly because there was nothing better to do, and I noticed something: Billy Mays does the same hand gestures, in pretty much the same order each time, in every single commercial he does. Including those where he only has one hand free.
Observe:
0:17
0:17 (again!)
1:30
He starts the commercial doing it, then does it again starting at 0:10 while hitting a car with a hammer. Then he does it for the last 15 seconds of the commercial.
0:04 and 0:58 (where he does it for 10 seconds) and 1:40
Or this one, where, after gluing together a U.S. flag, he does it while standing in a hurricane (0:35).
This one is fun, because as health insurance isn't really a tangible good, he literally spends the entire 2 minute commercial doing nothing but the same hand gesture over and over again.
Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
