clear evidence,proof of his desertion

a cry,part savage,part woman she flings down the betrayal.

a glance, no denial, just instant melting into old age,

searching faded eyes,her world splits. Loss overwhelms.

Frightened, weeping, whispering: "How? Why? When i love you-?"

Bewilderment, amazed wonder,hesitancy, "When-when did you start loving me again?"

Screeching nails extract, old walls rip, tear, fall, a wounded dove released,

seeking refuge. Only white space meets frantic quest.

Naked, standing before the probing eyes that are the soul, quivering fingers

touch, emotions crash, blend, rearrange, then like breath on ash-gray

ember...hope emerges.
