A small glint at the distance can be seen. A knife is made out and Sparkle quickly informed her partner. "Knife!" She shouted to her partner a few meters beside her. Talon, in turn, was surprised at this, and with his above average reflexes, only managed to raise his right hand, blocking the knife. He tilted his head, away from the knife's direction, the said weapon impaled, the metal tip seen at the back of his broken right hand. He screamed in pain, the blood flowing from his wounded hand, his clothes stained in it. The two took cover behind trees, Sparkle having a worried expression on her face.
"Are you okay?" The blonde girl asked, frantic.
"Do you think I'm fucking okay?" He asked as he took out the knife from his hand, the sound it created implanted in his head. "I'll take care of her. Go!" Talon ripped his sleeves and covered his wounded, injured hand.
"But!"
"Just fucking go, Spark! I can handle her!" He yelled across to her partner which she complied. Before running, a look of pure concern is on her face, which somehow shifted to fear. Nodding in return, she sprinted away from the District Two girl and her partner.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
As the two had dissapeared behind the tree, Wren had slipped around the back of a tree trunk, quite please that she had at least managed to hit something - by the sounds of it anyway. She heard faint rustling and whipped her head around just in time to see Sparkle fleeing the scene and leaving Talon behind. Wren took a deep breath, attempting to be as quiet as possible - the element of surprise might be the only thing in her favour right now.
Climbing a tree is impossible in my current situation. Heck, the girl is even faster than me. Charging without any plan is suicide. Shit! The blonde First District competitor curses as he plans. The pain is taking his concentration and the safety of his companion isn't determined. Gripping his axe in his left hand tightly, Talon slowly backs away from the tree, still in its cover. He silently walks, surveying the surrounding area.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
As she heard movement from opposite her, Wren attempted to slink around the tree scoot singly so that she would not be seen. Her footsteps were quick and nimble, though she cursed as her waterproof jacket rustled against the bark of the tree, "All I have to do is surprise him," she whispered silently to herself, taking in a deep breath.
His eyes glares at the source of the immediate sound. Talon can hear his heartbeat thumping loudly. Such small actions makes him nervous. He can feel a nonexistent lump in his throat, his hand slightly shaking in anticipation and fear. The blonde haired guy notices a rock near his foot and throws it near the location of the sound. The moment he lets go of the said rock, his body tensed more (if that was even possible) and glares intently at the location.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Wren flinched as a small stone hit the ground next to her, her feet moving instinctively creating a small rustling sound. She stopped immediately, biting down on her lip as she listened intently for any more signs of noise. She was ready to run at any second if the need were to arise.
Talon is running impatient. Rage can be seen on his face but he tries his best to remain calm. I guess provoking her is the most I can do. . . Shit still hurts as hell. With that thought in mind, he decides to speak. "Come on! Is hiding all you can do, Two?!" He starts, eying his surroundings and his enemy's movement.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Wren felt the twitch of annoyance in her temple once more at the jeers, the all-too-familiar jeers. WIth a deep breath, the red-headed girl jumps out from behind the tree, spinning to face Talon and hurtling two knives towards him, readying another one in the palm of her hand just in case. As long as she could keep him far back, she would be absolutely fine.
Due to his concentration and superior reflexes, Talon manages to dodge, though barely. Luckily enough, he only gets away with a scratch on his face and he can hear the knives hit the tree. As he dodges, his sight focuses on the girl and her movements. Bending his knees, he picks up a fist-sized rock and throws it to the girl. Talon charges to Wren, weapon on hand.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
The red-headed girl bends over backwards as the rock whizzes over her head as she somersaults back, landing almost perfectly on two feet. There is little time to celebrate her success however as she spots Talon charging his way towards her. Wren begins to run, caring little about the noise she is making and more about her speed. Keep him back, it'll all be fine. she tells herself as she tries to remain calm. But damn how she misses her knives; that was three she had lost only today. Remembering Talon's short temper, the younger girl calls back at him, "Why don't you throw the sword?!" she cackles, her tone playful and teasing.
"You!" He says as he can feel his anger boiling. Both the insult and the pain Talon is currently feeling, rage has taken over his better judgement. Taking one big step, he throws his machete with all his power, aiming to the girl's middle body. Quickly changing direction, he steps to his right, the trees covering him.

"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Luckily, Wren could hear the sword whizzing through the air and she turns just in time. The blade slashes through the material of her waterproof jacket and lands with a thud on the ground behind her. But where was Talon? Cautiously, the girl steps forward, "Where are you One?" she calls, keeping a watchful eye out for the unarmed boy. He would be an easy target. . . if he didn't grab her first.
As he takes cover in one of the trees, the blonde kid tries to regains his composure and breath. Just realizing his grave mistake, throwing his only weapon, he silently curses himself. Talon walks silently to one tree to another and as he steps, he suddenly feels that the ground is uneven. Looking down, he sees a dead corpse, few letters engraved at his skin. Carefully inspecting it, he reads the letters, only for him to realize that it was an incomplete name of Wren. The blonde kid can feel his hair standing up in fear and tries to reject his feelings. Inspecting the surroundings of the boy, he notices an axe near him and the corpse. Hiding behind a tree, he replaces his blood-soaked cloth and rip his clothes, bandaging it. Talon then picks up the axe and moves to another cover.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Wren continues to move forward, her gaze watchful and intent. It seems anger is one of his biggest flaws, a little like her, "Who's hiding now One?" she jeers, "Coward!" she doesn't mean any of it - hiding probably would be the best course of action - but she needed him to come out of hiding if she were to have any chance at all.
Coward?! Talon repeats the girl's yelling in his head. Boiling in rage, the blonde kid clenches his hands and lets out a small sound of pain. This makes his anger shift and somehow, manages to think clear but only a little. The District One tribute gives the girl a deathly glare. Half of his body hidden at the tree, the other exposed. "Who's the coward, Two?" He says as he slowly exposes himself. "I dare you answer my question!" He readies himself, making a defensive stance.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Wren flinches a little at his sudden appearance, eyeing the axe in his hand. Where did he get that from?! Wren supposes close-combat might be her only chance now. Abandoning her previous tactics, the red-headed girl jumps in brandishing a dagger.
Talon takes a few steps forward to the girl. Taking about four steps, he stops. His breathing slightly heavy, he lifts his axe to his chest, supporting it by his wounded hand. "Sorry but, I want to rest. . ." He says in a small voice to no one. Letting out a deep sigh, he hurls his axe to the girl, aiming at Wren's stomach. He then charges, glancing slightly at the machete near the girl, then turning his attention to the girl's movement as Talon engages her at close combat.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Wren panics as the axe comes flying towards her. Swinging her backpack from her shoulders, she clenched it in front of her body for protection. The force of impact knocks her back and she falls to the ground. She is up on her feet again quickly as she drops the axe and the backpack and sends one more knife hurtling towards Talon.
The said knife is aimed at the guy's heart. With his reflexes and instinct, Talon was able to avoid the worst by side-stepping to his right and dodging the aim, sacrificing his left arm in the process. The said knife that was impaled, the blonde kid takes it off and uses it as a weapon against Wren. Charging towards her and meters apart, he grips the blood-covered knife, readying himself for combat.
"I'm not using anime as a reason to escape reality. I use it to realize more about the reality."
Instead of bracing herself for the impact, Ween raves forward in an attempt to tackle Talon to the ground. She instantly regrets it as she crashes into him, feeling the force of the collision fly back at her. She groans slightly.
