Pokemon: The Ongaku Region

Cabella tries to give a command, but the move had been too quick. She watches as Starly is struck, and then falls. Before Starly could hit the ground, Cabella returns her pokemon. She looks over at Totodile, who instantly leaps forward, ready to fight.

“Toto! Toto! TOTODILE!” The water pokemon chants, grinning and jumping up and down. Cabella smiles and laughs, the energy and confidence of Totodile something she loved.

"Ok that's one down.....Elekid... use thundershock" he says as Elekid charges and attacks tododile

“Totodile, dodge!” Cabella commands. Totodile does just as it is told, and perfectly on time. Totodile bounds away from the attack, using its powerful legs. “And then Leer!” As Totodile lands, its eyes glow red. A red aura surrounds Elekid for a moment, signalling decreased defense.

"Good move... Elekid use thundershock again" he says as it targets totodile again

(Bump)

"Totodile, quick! dodge again and then use Water Gun!" Cabella calls out. Totodile does as its told, and leaps away from the thundershock. When Totodile lands it sprays a jet of water. But, not straight at Elekid. Instead, Totodile aims the water near Elekid's feet, causing Elekid to slip and fall. "Now, Water Gun again!"

Elekid is knocked unconscious from the strength of the water-gun and being pinned to the ground.... and having being weakened by leer
Voss is surprised..."Amazing Cabella you got past the type difference and won...Elekid return..." he holds the next pokeball.... "Duskull your up" he says throwing out the pokeball
Duskull emerges....
"Duskull use leer" he says and Totodile begins to glow red as duskulls eyes glow red

"Totodile, don't get caught up in your lowered defense. We can still make up for it with everything else!" Cabella grins at her pokemon. Totodile jumps up and down, chanting its name in a happy manner. "Alright, now give it right back with a leer of your own!" And Totodile does so.

"Duskull use nightshade. .." and duskull released dark black waves of energy

"You're going to have to do more than that!" Cabella shouts, smiling brightly. "Totodile! Dodge and then use leer once more!" She commands. Totodile leaps aside, eyes glowing red and Duskull also glowing red. "Now move in with Scratch!"

Voss doesn't do a thing as the scratch attack goes through duskull....
"Cabella learn from this normal attacks are ineffective against ghost pokemon....now duskull grab totodile while its mid air and drive him to the ground. .." he says. ..Duskull grips totodile close and holds on tight driving him to the ground. ...
"Now DUSKULL USE NIGHTSHADE AND GIVE IT ALL YOU GOT" he says and duskulls eyes glow the brightest red as it unleashed a nightshade that had the floor below them cracking driving totodile into a mini small crater.
Duskull backs up waiting for the smoke to clear...

"And Voss, you need to learn this." Cabella firmly states, her brows knitting together. Her hands are in the form of fists. "I have watched Totodile get knocked around. Beaten down. Yet. . ." The smoke begins to recede to show a silhouette of Totodile, who is clearly injured and is on all fours in the center of the crater, struggling to remain conscious. "He will continue to stand!" And for a moment, it was as though Cabella and Totodile were completely connected as both of their eyes glowed. "Now, Totodile, Bite!" And Totodile bursts from the smoke, causing the cloud to blast away. And with its signature powerful jaws, it bites down on Duskull's head.

Voss sees Duskull in pain...."its ok your still close...Duskull Nigh..." he begins to say...
But he raised his pokeball..."Duskull return. ...I give up" he says as the red beam pulls Duskull out of totodiles jaws...
"Its ok you took a lot of damage you'll be fine great battle" he says to duskull inside the ball

Don George comes to the middle. ..:The winner is Cabella Rose..the new champion of Don George's gym" he says congratulating her

Cabella wasn't happy with the results, though. That wasn't right. At all. The battle was actually going great! For once she felt like she was being truly challenged. Like she was having a real battle. She practically glares at Voss, and points at him, "WHY THE HELL DID YOU DO THAT!?"

"We both have growing to do...duskull took major damage continuing would have hurt them both even worse..." he says
He hugs Cabella..."if it was that great now...imagine after we win some badges" he says
In truth he didn't want to hurt totodile anymore every pokemon has its limits. ..but he also felt like he was going to lose.

Cabella was surprised by the hug for a second, but she is quick to return it. And in the end, Cabella ends up giving Voss a bear hug. "We will be kicking major ass in the future! I know it!" She shouts, throwing a fist into the air before rushing over and picking Totodile up. She grins, hugging her pokemon. "You were great! God, I love you!" She laughs, spinning in multiple circles.

She comes to a stop, and makes her way back over to Voss. "Alright. Let's go get our pokemon taken care of at the Pokemon Center and then let's head over to the gym!" She beams, carrying a tired yet still somehow energetic Totodile.

Voss smiled as they hand the pokemon to Don George who heals them up...
"Great battle you two...are you guys by any chance headed to the cocoon city gym...?" He asked

Voss nodded "yes we are..." he responded

Don George smiles..."well for a small fee you can take my backwat bike path it leads straight to the Gym and I even provide the bikes for 200 dollars" he says
Voss thinks for a moment. ..."seems a little pricey...but ok the sooner the better" he says paying the money...

Then they go out back and get on the bikes...and ride...not knowing it leads to a downward slope straight through the forest...and right to the gym.
Voss screamed aa the bikes picked up speed..."DAMN YOU DON GEORGE" he screams as they arrived at the entrance of the cocoon city gym..
Voss flipped off the bike and landed on his face..."owww"

Cabella laughs as she throws her arms up as the bikes speed down. As they come to a stop at the gym, she leaps off and rushes inside. But, what she sees actually surprises her. Her eyes widen slightly as she takes a look around, her mouth opening as if she is going to say something. But, no words form.



The inside of the gym is like an actual jungle, from the aroma to the sounds. She even watches as two small rodent-like pokemon scurry past her. Totodile also appears to be in awe. And by the look in Totodile's eyes, it also felt at home.

"Hello!" A chipper voice can be heard from the trees.

Cabella looks around, searching for the source. And she yelps as someone is suddenly hanging upside down from the tree in front of her. "I am guessing you are challengers!?" The boy grins from ear to ear, flipping down from the tree and landing in front of them.

"Yes...I'm Voss and this is cabella...we are here to challenge you. ..great gym I must say I'm impressed" he says

"Thank you~ My name is Roach!" He laughs, forcefully shaking Cabella's and Voss' hands. "I know, it's a pretty strange name." He laughs, scratching the back of his head. "But, it fits." He chuckles. Cabella also laughs. She really liked this kid! He was pretty interesting.

"So, which one of you would like to go first, hm?" He tilts his head to the side in question.

Voss looks at Cabella..."ladies first"

"Alright!" Cabella grins, excited. She looks at Roach, who gives a nod and a smile. He shows them the way to the battling area. It has the typical field, but with trees sprouting in random places, and surrounding them. Roach stands on one side, while Cabella is at the other.

"Alright Starly, let's do this!" Cabella calls out, releasing her bird pokemon.

"Very nice~" Roach claps his hands together. He then pulls out a pokeball from his hat and holds it out. "I guess we'll start with you then, Karrablast~" He chimes.



"Karra!" The bug pokemon calls out.

"Starly! Start us off with Quick Attack!" Cabella commands.

Starly soars up and then dives down, glowing white with energy and charging towards Karrablast. There was no way the pokemon would be able to evade with such a short distance having been between them. And Starly's forte is speed. Cabella smiles.

"Endure~" Roach smiles, clapping his hands together.

And as Starly strikes Karrablast, Karrablast catches Starly, stopping the bird pokemon dead in its tracks. Suddenly, Starly is thrown back and at the ground, injured. Cabella stands, blinking, surprised. Starly flies back up, shaking away dirt and leaves.

“Never underestimate your opponents Cabella.” Roach chuckles, cupping his hands behind his back and swaying from side to side. When he stops, he smiles brightly.

Cabella nods, gulping. She calms her nerves, and then calls out, “Starly! Double team!”

Multiple copies of Starly appear, all of them in a row. Roach and Karrablast both gaze at all of the Starlies, examining. Watching each one move in synch. Roach then says, “Karrablast, use Bug Buzz~”

Suddenly, Karrablast opens its mouth as it starts to glow red. Red sound waves blast away from Karrablast. They destroy the Starly copies, and cause the real Starly to shake its head, having gained a headache. “And now use Headbutt.” And while Starly’s eyes are closed and it tries to regain composure, Karrablast has lunged and struck Starly head first.

Cabella watches with wide eyes as Starly begins to fall to the grass. She returns her pokemon, who hadn’t fallen unconscious – but she refused to see Starly faint again. . . and she somewhat smiles. “Hey. . . you did good.” She whispers as she puts the pokeball away. She looks down at Totodile, who looks up at her. They both stand silent for a moment before grinning at each other, and nodding in unison.

Roach notices this and smiles. He could tell from the moment she stepped into the gym that she would be different from the other trainers he has battled. He returns his Karrablast and tosses another pokeball into the air, “You’re up, Surskit!”



“Totodile, use Scratch!” Cabella commands.

Totodile instantly listens, charging in towards Surskit with glowing claws.

“Bubblebeam!” Roach calls out.

Surskit remains where it is and releases a blast of glowing blue bubbles at Totodile. Cabella smiles as she says, “Now Totodile!” And once more, it was as though the two are connected. And Totodile knew exactly what to do. Taking a back step with claws still glowing, Totodile sucks in air, puffs out its chest, and then releases a stream of water with Water Gun. The Water Gun blasts straight through the bubbles, and even seemed to make the jet of water larger as it strikes Surskit. Surskit is sent tumbling backwards, but the bug pokemon gets back up. Though, it struggled.

“Quick Attack, Surskit.” Roach commands.

The bug pokemon moves with incredible speed. It seemed to disappear, and then reappear. Suddenly, Surskit is in front of Totodile, about to strike. With but a second separating the two pokemon, Cabella shouts, “Now!”

And with those claws still having been glowing the entire time, Totodile scratches at Surskit. And Surskit’s own speed from the Quick Attack seemed to work against it. It is sent flying backwards by a small explosion from the collision of Totodile’s glowing claws and its own glowing body. Totodile slightly skids back, but smiles as wide as Cabella does.

Surskit has fainted. Roach returns his downed pokemon, and is smiling even brighter than before, “That was wonderful my friend~ now get some rest~” He says to his Surskit as he puts the pokeball away.

“You’re up again, Karrablast.” Roach calls out, sending the powerful bug pokemon back out.

Totodile jumps from its left to right foot, ready for anything.

“We’ve got this!” Cabella shouts, throwing a fist into the air.

“TOTODILE!” The water pokemon yells, doing the same action as Cabella.

But, before anyone could say anything, a red beam of light shoots out in front of Totodile. And standing in front of Totodile. . . is a Starly that struggles to remain standing. Totodile looks at Starly, and starts to “talk”. The two seem to be conversing. . . arguing. Cabella doesn’t know what to say as Starly lightly pushes Totodile back. A pleading look in its eyes.

Cabella understands.

“Totodile, return.” Cabella tells Totodile. Totodile looks at Cabella in surprise, and then looks at Starly. But, without any more argument, Totodile goes back over to Cabella’s side. “Alright Starly.” Cabella smiles at the bird pokemon. Starly looks at her, and their eyes lock. “I know you’ve got this! I trust you!” She gives Starly a thumbs up. And with that, Starly whirls around to face Karrablast.

“Okay then.” Roach snickers, shrugging as he fixes his hat. “Karrablast, end this quickly with another Headbutt.”

“Dodge!” When Karrablast charges, Starly quickly flaps its wings and avoids the attack by flying over Karrablast. “Now, Wing Attack!” And before Karrablast could turn around, Starly has driven an extended glowing wing into its back. The attack dealt extra damage due to the type difference. Karrablast is sent hurdling forward and into a tree. It bounces off the tree and scurries back up to its feet, clearly angered.

Starly remains in the air, still struggling to remain conscious. Any other trainer would have returned their pokemon. They would have refused what their pokemon wanted. But not Cabella. She could see every thought clearly in Starly’s eyes. It believed it could do this. And so must Cabella. If not. . . what kind of team would they be?

“Starly! As a team we must believe in each other! And we must never doubt each other! YOU HAVE GOT THIS!” Cabella grins.

And as Cabella finishes saying this, Starly begins to glow completely. Its form changes. Starly is evolving. And as the light disperses, it reveals. . .

“STARAVIA!” The bird pokemon caws, spreading its wings wide.



“Wing Attack, one more time!” Cabella calls out.

“Headbutt!” Roach shouts just as Cabella gives her command.

Karrablast lunges up into the air towards Staravia just as Staravia dives down. But, the attack changes. Staravia flaps its wings once. And suddenly, Staravia is moving so fast that it becomes a blur. And just before Staravia and Karrablast collide, Staravia is enveloped in streaks of white energy. Aerial Ace.

Karrablast is sent drilling down and into the ground, causing a cloud of debris to form. Staravia slowly lowers itself to the ground, where it collapses. And a fainted Karrablast is revealed as the debris clears.

“That was amazing! You did WONDERFUL!” Cabella beams, returning her exhausted pokemon.

“Excellent job.” Roach praises Karrablast as he returns his pokemon. He looks at Cabella as he pulls out one last pokeball from under his hat. “You have been doing great, Cabella. I can’t wait to see how you do against my next pokemon~”

And as Totodile jumps back out onto the field, Roach releases his last pokemon – a Beedrill. The strongest member of his team.

Voss watches Cabella's battle
"Is this what Professor Cryptomeria meant about her heart and risk taking...anyone would have pulled starly out of the battle but she stuck to it and starly became staravia...." he thinks

He stood in amazement as the pokemon evolved. ..and the speed and power it gained....especially with that powerful aerial ace...
"Damn such growth. ...I thought I was going to lose to her before but now could I beat her" he thinks

At that moment Voss tunes the battle out and sees nothing but black...just him and Cabella. ..she's surrounded in a fiery red and gold aura signifying. ..her heart and power while his aura is a calm blue and white more like water signifying his technique and skill.

"What's going to be greater cabella rose...technique or heart" he says to himself

“Totodile, use Leer!” Cabella calls out. Totodile does so, and Beedrill winces slightly. But, Roach’s smile doesn’t even falter. Cabella and Roach are both clearly very confident trainers.

“Pin Missile, Beedrill.” Roach commands. Beedrill extends its arms and then throws them out wide. And from the two glowing stingers on its arms, glowing needles shoot out and towards Totodile. They move at incredible speed.

“Totodile, use Water Gun.” Cabella says, completely calm and still grinning. Totodile jumps up into the air and twists its body. It fires its water gun straight down at the ground, causing Totodile to get shot up into the air and above the pins. The needles tear through the stream of water, causing it to explode. “Now, Water Gun again!” And while still in the air, Totodile turns its body to fire water directly at Beedrill.

“Poison Jab~” Roach laughs.

Beedrill thrusts its arm right back, and the large stinger starts to glow a bright purple. And it charges forward with its arm extended like a lance. And it tears right through the center of the water gun, flying up and towards Totodile.

“Water Gun again!” Cabella calls out. This time, Totodile shoots its head back and blasts water at the ceiling of the gym. It strikes, propelling Totodile back down and to the ground, barely avoiding Beedrill’s poisonous strike. Cabella sighs in relief, and giggles. Roach also gives a light chuckle, clapping his hands together. It’s clear that he was having fun, something he hadn’t had in a long time with a gym battle.

Just as Totodile lands, Roach commands, “Twineedle~” And Beedrill dives down straight at Totodile, ready to strike with the stingers.

“Dodge, and then Scratch!” Cabella shouts.

Totodile does as its told, leaping back, causing Beedrill to strike the ground instead, the stingers getting stuck in the field. And as Beedrill starts to pull its arms out of the ground, Totodile attacks, scratching twice with glowing claws.

But, as Totodile is close, Roach says, “Poison Jab.”

Totodile is struck by a glowing purple stinger. Totodile is sent backwards, where it skids against the floor for several feet, and then lays still for a moment. In pain, Totodile rises, shaking its head. But, Cabella could tell that Totodile had been poisoned. Every second that passed increased Totodile’s chances of fainting at any given moment.

“Totodile,” Cabella looks at her pokemon. Totodile looks at Cabella, and gives a single nod.

“Beedrill, Pin Missile once more.” Roach tells his pokemon. Beedrill throws its arms out wide, the many needles once more being fired straight towards Totodile.

“Totodile, move aside and use Leer.” Cabella says. Totodile does so, propelling itself away once more with water gun, and then landing and using Leer. Lowering Beedrill’s defense even more.

(The final portion of the battle! WOO!)

“Alright Beedrill, I think it’s time to end this~ Poison Jab once more.” Roach states, smiling brightly. And Beedrill charges with incredible speed towards Totodile, who struggled to remain standing due to already being poisoned.

“Totodile. This is it.” Cabella’s hands form fists. For a moment, it looked like she was accepting defeat as she lowered her head. But, suddenly, one of those fists are thrown into the air. And Totodile makes the same exact motion. With head down and fist up, Totodile suddenly glows a bright red. Rage. A move that greatly increases Totodile’s attack.

And just as Beedrill is about to strike Totodile. . . the red aura around Totodile seemed to become heavier. Just as Cabella’s own aura seemed to. And Totodile opens its mouth wide to release a Water Gun. But, due to also having been using Rage, the Water Gun is larger. More force. And has red energy twisting around it. It strikes Beedrill, forcing Beedrill backwards and pushing it through a tree. The red energy that had been twisting around the water gun fans out and causes the tree to explode.

The red aura disperses, and Totodile drops to one knee, one eye shut as it looks at the mess that had been made. As a cloud of dirt settles, it reveals a Beedrill that is unconscious under branches from the destroyed tree.

There is a moment of silence before the referee gestures towards Cabella. “The victor is Cabella Rose.”

Cabella leaps up into the air, squealing with joy. She rushes onto the field, scooping Totodile into a tight hug. She tosses her pokemon up, catches it, and then does this once more before spinning in multiple circles. Dizzy, Cabella falls over in the center of the field, laughing like crazy with Totodile. Grinning, Roach makes his way over and helps Cabella up, and shakes her hand.

“That was a wonderful battle! I thank you greatly for giving me such an opportunity~” Roach praises. He pats Totodile head, “I already see that you two will go very far on this journey.” He smiles at Cabella. “You’ve got a bond with your pokemon that is incredible Cabella. Keep up the work.”

Cabella gives Roach a hug, and nods. “I will!” She confirms. When she backs away, Roach pulls a badge out of his hat and gives it to Cabella.

She and Totodile stare in awe at the badge, which is composed of mostly a yellow and is bordered in gold – it appeared to be a Beedrill's head, especially with the red eyes. And Cabella shows Voss, a big grin on her face. “One down, seven to go!”

Voss laughs hugging her....
"Congratulations your one step... closer to achieving your goals. Your also at least on par somewhat with Keagan since you both beat this gym" he says

Voss looks at Roach..."We're going to go to the pokemon center and heal up her pokemon we'll come back tomorrow for my challenge as im sure your pokemon need to rest also" he says

Roach gives two nods, "I hope you will be as much fun to battle as Cabella~ Until then, get a good night's rest!" He beams before whirling around, waving, and then disappearing within the trees.

Cabella, still smiling, pulls Voss into another hug. She then grabs his hand and rushes them out of the gym, screaming at the top of her lungs, "I, CABELLA ROSE, WILL BE A POKEMON MASTER!" And her voice echoes throughout the city.

When they get to the Pokemon Center, Cabella hands over her Pokemon. She then looks at Voss, and places her hands on her hips. It seemed as though she would never stop smiling. "So, what did you think!? How did I do!?" She asks him, grabbing both of his hands as she stands in front of him, grinning.
