I turn my head to the side slightly to look at Delirium. "I'm fine. Feeling a little sick though...but it's probably just this whole flying thing." I give a ragged smile. I look away from her and back down. "Or the fact that I'm a vegetarian who ate sixteen triple threat burgers..."
they fly to S.H.E.I.L.D. HQ "OK here we are." Delirium said walking right in, the soldeirs aim at her "STOP,no one past this barrier" the men said. "such cute little flowers." she said as the guns transform into flowers. "how, how did you." a man stuttered then a large black man walked out with an eyepatch on "Hello, I'm..."
"Nick Furry." Delirium said
"How did you..."
"Know? because I am psychic..."she said then started whispering "but I won't tell if you won't" she winked here eye and when she opened it her eye was gone. she lifted his eyepatch and there was a pink eye. "Heeheehee" she giggled then returned her eye into place. "thats fun" she said laughing. "you, how did..." he started but then realized "an everlasting." he said
"well, that is what you people call us, although not many believe in us."
"because you only show up every so often. except death." he said
"we prefer places that beleive in us." she said shaking his hand
"well little girl, you're in luck, I happen to have studied up on your kind. no need to explain anything, except ofcurse why you are here." he said
"because of Those two." she said.
I land beside Delirium, wincing as my wings retract. "That's never going to feel good."
Banner comes to stand beside me, and I could see Nick Fury's personatality quickly change. Something is up, and I am clearly missing it.
'Come on, look at all of those S.H.I.E.L.D. soldiers. Let's have some fun' the voice hisses in my head, making me take a step back, almost knocking Banner over in the process. I lose my footing for a second, and Banner helps me remain balanced.
"Thanks." I nod at Banner, who gives me a gentle smile.
"It's Fury." He states, his eyes narrowing. "Banner and another child? That doesn't explain your reasoning for being here."
'Kill this man. He is quite annoying.' the voice gives a playful snicker.
"Shut up." I growl, grasping onto one side of my head. "Just shut up already."
"Are you talking to me?" Fury takes a step up to me, and I can hear them getting ready to fire. Red dots from guns roam every inch of my body.
"No. I wasn't." I shake my head, dropping my hands to my side. Nick returns his attention to Delirium.
"What is going on here? Who is this kid?" He asks. I am about to answer, but he shoots me a glare and the lasers return. That's my cue to shut up.
"him? he is a friend of mine. I would think your men to stop aiming water guns at him, as he wearing such nice cloths and I would hate for him to get wet." she said "now Nicky-poo why don't you let us in, restrain my friend if you want, just stop the talky, and lets do the walky." she said lifting her hand and waving forwards as if to say "follow"
"now sir fury, if you would be so kind as to take me to Tony Starks section of the building, I would be glad to return your guards their rightful guns."
Fury looks at his men and nods. They lower their guns.
I mouth a 'thanks' to Delirium, and Bruce and I follower her and Nick Fury - who leads us through the building.
'You are no fun Sully' the voice snickers. 'Come on, start a riot or something. Don't try to ignore me. That will get you nowhere.'
"I said be quiet." I whisper under my breath, closing my eyes for a second.
'I've been the only thing you have for a long time now. You can't just push me away. That would be rude~' it continues.
"SHUT UP!" I shout. A couple of stares here and there and I suddenly find myself in a straight jacket...man I feel at home already.
Delirium walks into an extravagent lab "Usually he is at his mansion, playboying it up. but today he decided to come in and work on modifacations to his suit, how lucky for you that you came on today of all days" Nick Furry said sarcastically.
"hello Tony."Delirium said walking up to him
"Delirium? what are you doing here, the imfamous nick furry finally catch you?" he said.
"no, I am here on business." she said
"ok, what is it you would like? you look great by the way, haven't aged a day since I was 8." he said.
"oh you." she said pretending to be flattered.
"you know her?"Fury asked.
"Ofcurse, doesn't everybody? no, just rich sucessful playboys? my bad." he said
"how does he..."
"Narcissism is a mental illness." Delirium whispered.
"That explains alot." Nick and bruce both said, nick jokingly, Bruce inquisitively.
I come into the room, finally released after an examination. But they never let me out of the straight jacket. I look at the man who must be Tony Stark, and he looks at me in confusion.
"Uhm...should I be worried that there is a boy in a straight jacket here?" Tony questions, looking at everyone for an answer. I give a sarcastic laugh, rolling my eyes.
Then I set my eyes on Delirium. "Now that I think about it, what are we here for?"
"Tony is going to help create a machine to add some control to your brain. it won't be much but it will be a start. Banner is going to have to study your eyes though, that will be that heard part, because something inside of you wants that control to be taken from you, not given." she said smiling as if she had said something good.
Bruce suddenly seemed scared. "What do you mean bad part?"
I am rubbing the back of my neck, feeling nervous. "It's a good idea Delirium...but I'm not all too sure."
'Not all too sure? Come on, I think it will be interesting' the voice says.
"Well...I guess you guys could give it a shot. But I apologize in advance if anything bad happens." I sigh.
"He is telling you yes because he thinks he can gain control before banner is done." she said to him.
"He thinks that bruce is weak." she said.
"am I the only one who heard her talk about the hard part?" Banner was saying.
Banner seats me in the nearest chair, and he goes to look into my eyes, but suddenly pulls back.
"So...what exactly am I supposed to be doing or looking for?" He questions, and I shrug. I have no clue what Delirium has up her sleeve.
'Let him look into your eyes again. This time I will bring out the pain. Towards the both of you~ because I can't leave you out of it, that wouldn't be nice.' the voice hisses. Just as it says that, Banner is about to lean down and look into my eyes again. But I quickly shut them and give him a light shove away.
"Sorry." I apologize, and Bruce just nods in confusion.
Bruce and Tony exchange glances. Tony clears his throat and Bruce gulps.
"Delirium it was, right? Well...what am I supposed to actually be looking for? I am no eye doctor but they seem fine to me." Bruce says. He's nervous again. I feel like he is way too often...
"you have to look into his eye, allow the other him to take your power. that is why it is dangerous, when he becomes like the hulk then that machine will read what part of the brain takes powers" she said
"essentially we are looking for the part of the brain to control then?" Tony asked
"exactly. then the easy part comes, where we can do brain surgery on him." she said smiling.
"SURGERY!?" I squeal, scurrying away. But Tony stops me from leaving the room and sets me back in the chair. As I still wear the straight jacket, it is quite difficult to use my arms. How upsetting.
I look at all of them in a pleading way. "Please, I really don't think this is such a good idea anymore."
"Nonsense, you'll be fine." Tony says. Banner is even more nervous than before and he tries to look into my eyes but I have them sealed shut. Never! I think to myself in a childish way.
With a sigh, someone's fingers grip the sides of my face and pry my eyes open. I am looking right into Bruce Banner's. I can feel my heart skip a beat, and then it starts racing. Banner takes a step back as I clench my teeth together. My head is tilted back, my spine arched slightly. Then, I drop forward and onto the floor. As my size increases, the straight jacket is broken and my arms are set free. It feels like my head is on fire! I scream as the pain streaks throughout every joint, tendon and muscle. I start to black out, but come to my senses and I touch my face, it feels like bone instead of skin... Then, I feel lost and confused as something consumes me.
"I don't like surgery!" The monster Sullivenn shouts, throwing his fists into the air. He smashes some computers, and his size increases as bones start to tear through his skin like spikes. "I WON'T LET YOU DO IT TO ME AGAIN!"
"Again?" Banner's eyes narrow. Tony attaches something to his hand, and it becomes Iron Man's gauntlet. He fires multiple lasers at Sullivenn, who stumbles a bit but remains footed. His eyes glow blood red as he looks at Tony.
"Alright Delirium! I got the reading!" Tony shouts as a computer monitor flashes and reads 100% Data Completed.
Delirium giggled as sullivenn caused so much destruction, "Sully, time to calm down." she said she jumped into his mind and saw him tied up to a chair while a monsterous version of him hoped around like a maniac. she walked up and saw the creature that was sullyvenn look at her smiling, she smiled back then touched both sullyvenns suddenly the monster was tied up and the real sullyvenn was in control again. "now calm down." she said to him.
The monster's eyes widen and it slowly starts to shrink down to the real Sullivenn.
I drop to my knees and gasp for air, my eyes bulging.
"Yeah, it's not fun." Banner is kneeling beside me, wrapping a lab coat over my shoulders and helping me to my feet. My hair sticks to my face as I am encased in sweat. I tremble, pressed against Banner in an awkward side hug.
"So what did we get?" Banner looks at Tony and Delirium. "Anything that will be of use?"
Tony looks at the touch-screen monitor, which has a picture of a brain on it. There are different colors to the brain, in different segments. Tony points to a spot towards the center.
"It seems to be coming from right there...His brain actually appears to be enhanced somehow. Someone could have experimented on him to enhance his brainwaves or it just happened somehow?" Tony sighs.
Tears fall down my face and plummet to the floor, and Bruce's side hug tightens as my trembling seems to worsen.
"Alright." Tony claps his hands together and grins. "Who wants to do some surgery?"
"Better question is, who knows how?" Banner's eyebrows furrow. "We aren't going to just go this thing without knowing what exactly we should be doing." His voice was given off some confidence as his hand tightens its grip on my arm.
"I don't...I don't wanna. Not again." I close my eyes. I would have fallen over if it weren't for Banner.
"How do you know how to do surgery?" Banner questions Delirium, sitting down with me on a nearby table thing. My mind is a jumbled mess. I couldn't remember anything before, but now these images are flashing before my eyes. People with surgical knives, others pulling at my knives or drilling holes into my skull. But for what? Why?
"well, I was the one who created brain surgery. rather i gave humans the Idea to do brain surgery, all the way back ummm I think it was around 7,000 B.C. when you guys finally figured out what I was trying to teach you." she said smiling. "since then I haven't done it,, but I am sure it is pretty much the same now as it was then, now lets see, where is the brain hook." she said looking around inquisitively.
(brain surgery really does predate to around 7,000 B.C. it is one of the oldest medical professions.)
"Brain hook? This isn't the egyptian times anymore. We have things like technology now." Banner says. I can feel his grip tighten and I am pressed closer to him. His rising anger was giving off natural heat, and I welcomed it. I was freezing cold right now.
"Well the kid looks like he is gonna die, so let's just get this thing started." Tony laughs.
