2002 game of the year. Thus far (the five hours I've been playing it) its been killer fun. First person view and a true D&D rpg. It really reminds me of the old Might&Magic games. Character devolopment is far easier then the hardcore D&D games.
Morrowind has a totally different set of races then that of Faerun. For example: Dark Elves are called Dunmer rather than Drow, High Elves are Altmer, Rakshasa are Khajiit, and there are four different varieties of human. Not half humans. Humans. I thought the birthsigns were an interesting touch. Depending on your character's birthsign you can recieve bonuses in certain areas.
The guy who recommended it to me is playing in on Xbox but I got it for PC. After I got used to using key pad controls it was a breeze.
I was completely ADDICTED to that game for MONTHS. I got it on PC and XBox and I just spent the entire time on both building up my character to insane levels. I never actually finished the storyline oddly enough....I just found a ton of special weaponry and armor, built up my stats, and had fun finding secrets like the merchant crab. If you wanna know where the best stuff is, I could tell ya. Also, I found a way to use my XBox controller to play the PC version, it made life a lot easier! lol
I actually finished the main quest after investing about 90 hours in this game. I bought the strat guide after I beat the game just to see all the other possibilities out there. I keep meaning to go back and play through some of the different house quests, but I never get around to it. This game is so huge and open ended it's almost mind boggling. I found a couple of scrolls that allow some insane level of levitation, something like 500 points, they let you get to lots of hard to reach places, but I would love to find or create an item with similar power level so I can go anywhere fast.
