Simon broke out of the ice he had trapped himself in. the bombs had been dropped, the world was broken, and the only thing that saved him was the thing that he hated most. that accursed crown. he looked out the window, the buildings outside where crumbling, the dust had cleared since the bombing. he decided that staying in the city was not a good idea. it would bring back to many memories. he began to leave. he walked out the front door of his building and began to walk down the broken and destroyed road. he got atleast two miles before he heard something that made him change course. "*caugh* He-*Caugh* HELP!" a little voice said. it was sad and sweet. at first simon did not believe it, the crown was playing tricks on him, no one could have survived that blast. but then again, he had survived, so why not check it out. he walked to a destroyed building and looked inside. there trapped in the ruble was a little girl, pale in complexion. "help me." she cried. "don't worry little girl, I'll save you." he said. He pulled the debris away as fast as he could and grabbed the little girl. he pulled her out and lay her on the ground so she could rest. "thank you for saving me." she said sweetly. "don't mention it. so...what's your name?" he asked. "Marceline." the girl said smiling. "Marceline the vampire queen." she smiled. "Vampire queen?"Simon laughed. "where are your parents?" he asked her. "I don't know where my mom is, but my dad is trapped in the nightosphere." she said. "nighto...you have some imagination Marcy." he said laughing. "hey don't laugh, it's true." she said, upset that he didn't believe her. "oh, it's true? sorry queen marcy I did not mean to offend you." Simon said humoring her. "so, I guess it's just you and me, all alone in the wreckage." he said, the last part he whispered so as not to upset the girl. "I guess so." she said "but don't worry, my dad will come and get me soon." Simon only smiled. what was he going to do, he couldn't leave now, he couldn't just leave the little girl all alone. "well then how about I protect you while we wait for you dad?" Simon said. "don't worry, I won't hurt you." The girl smiled and said "OK. just promise you won't get all scared when my dad comes."
