Problem with Damn Small Linux Fri Mar 24, 2006 10:43:32 PM#16595Perm Link
I used the guide "Breathing Life into Older Computers" (November 21, 2005) when doing a frugal install of Damn Small Linux.
The guide invited requests for help, if necessary, in these forums, as well as at the DSL site.
I need help.
I posted at the DSL site, but got no response, so am seeking help here.
When booting up, I get the following message:
INIT: Entering runlevel: 5
end-request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
end-request: I/O error, dev 02:00 (floppy), sector 0
mount: /dev/fd0 is not a valid block device
Unable to mount device fd0
Press enter to continue:
I do have a floppy disk drive on my system.
I'd welcome any suggestion as to what I should try in order to rectify this problem.
I apologise for troubling you unnecessarily. I just finished re-installing DSL via a frugal install and that put an end to the floppy disk drive problem. When I went online to edit my post here to say so, I found your message.
