CNet also posted this, but PC World beat them to it. It's probably a good idea to skim through it. I'm sure most of us are doing a lot of these suggestions already. It's still a good article to give to someone who is using XP and doesn't want to pay for Vista. Or someone you want to educate so they don't fall into Microsoft's little traps and feel that they have to, or should upgrade.
That's normally what I do when major problems pop up, but I also have a mirrored copy on a backup drive, so it sin't a real big deal.............
