I love this show. I will say that his bed side manner leaves a lot to be desired. But that is one of the things that actually makes the show. This is one show that I make sure to watch every week.
I've watched the show a couple of times when I was on vacation in Spain, so I could actually hear the original version in English. I try watching it here in Germany, but it is too much to hear in dubbed into German. The problem with those shows dubbed into other languages, they loose the acting, the voices of the original actors that bring soo much into the whole show! So, if I can't watch in the original language, I rather not watch at all. I'll check it on DVD eventually!
I like this show very much-it's funny and interesting.....I also like House's character....so sarcastic in a funny sort of way....It's kind of odd to find out that he's British since the character has no accent at all...
Y'know, I was skeptical of House because I'm a die-hard Scrubs fan and I know people were going to start saying Scrubs was ripping off House (A LOT of people say Dr. Cox is a rip of House, even though they're not all that similar, despite the fact that the former is 3 years older. There's an episode of Scrubs that makes fun of that notion, actually, where Dr. Cox injures his leg and thus has to walk with a cane while several medical mysteries pop up that he has to solve...anyway, I digress). But it's really not that bad, especially compared to Grey's Anatomy (which is too Soapy for me to stand).
I'll often accidentally catch 5 minutes of an episode and then I just have to watch the rest because I'm curious as to where they're going with the medical mystery (ridiculous as it is, it's damn interesting). My only problem with the show is all the personal drama they throw in there, like the relationship problems and all that, I find it detracts from the thrill of the hunt (so to speak) and really bores me enough that I almost change the channel. But, I hope soapy plot lines, even when they're in good shows (Scrubs has a few...). It's a pretty good show, I watch it when I can.
Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?
When I first heard Hugh Laurie talk I couldn't belive he had such an accent. You would never know that when you hear him on the show. I was really surprised.
I know they're renewed for another season (infact, I think they're contractually obligated for 2 more seasons) so I kinda of expect some sort of cliffhanger to torture viewers during the summer months.
I don't mind the reruns because I've yet to see all the episodes of the show so they'll probably be the ones I haven't seen. Unless of course it follows the inverse law of reruns - the less you see of a show, the more times you'll catch the same episode.
