What's Most Important To You? Fri Mar 2, 2007 5:29:16 AM#34877Perm Link
I was just curious as to what people think is the most important aspect of a video game. A real determining factor for me is length. I like games to be good in all other aspects, but what good is it if you finish it in a week. This has really become important to me since next-gen games have become $59.99 and up at the initial release. I find it really disappointing when a really good game turns out to be 10-15 hours of game play. I find anything under 30-40 hours unacceptable. A perfect example of this is Gears of War. This game was awesome, but was only around 10 hours worth of playtime (not including multiplayer modes). I guess I should just get into renting games. That's all most are worth. I've had a 360 for two years; The only game I've purchased was Oblivion. All of the others I've been borrowing from other people. I demand longer games dammit!
I suppose the most important thing to me would be gameplay/storyline. I like fighting games so when there isn't someone else to play I like to follow a decent stroy mode for solo play
Yeah, I'd have to agree. I suck at Mortal Kombat, though, so I get madder when I play that game if I'm upset already. I usually play Soul Calibur II if I want to pound the shit out of someone.
I like to play the games where you build an empire, theme park, hospital, movie studio, etc. For me, the fighting is secondary and I'd actually rather do without it. I used to love the Tycoon games, but they've gotten pretty lame over the years. I am looking forward to the release of Hospital Tycoon, which sounds like it could be pretty interesting.
I am not really interested in games anymore, but I remember that I loved Carmen Sandiego! Everything where I can learn something, or it is some kind of trivia or word game, I'm down for that! Fighting and those things, not really. I get bored with those.
I may not be the person to ask, because I like games that stimulate my mind, as well as are fun to play. Most people just like to play, but I like to use my brain at the same time.
