Do you compose your own music? Sat Apr 14, 2007 3:02:24 AM#36665Perm Link
With all the problems with copyrights and music, have you composed your own music to play with your videos on the internet? I know many who without really being composers, try something with keyboards and use that for their videos. How about you?
So maybe if I decide to put a video on the internet and look for original music, would you be willing to do some music for someone else's video? I know there are many people looking for original music.
My brother and I used to record whatever stupid songs we made on this extra cheap keyboard (like REALLY cheap). I have a file or two somewhere but don't feel like digging them up because they aren't that good anyway.
Maybe tomorrow I'll do something on my better keyboard, I've been meaning to but I've been busy.
Once when we were trying to edit a movie, we needed special effects for a scene, and didn't have anything available but a keyboard. I remember the keyboard had a "clapping" sound, which was just "one" clap, and that's what we used to create steps of a woman walking in heels. It totally looked real! We also created some kind of increasing panic with the keyboard too, but that was a bit more difficult.
We're all closet musicians! I found something my brother and I made a couple of years ago. I didn't know what to name it so I let him do it. It's basically a continuous beat that we didn't know what to do with, and we were going to try something indie but...maybe one day we'll elaborate on it.
It's just for kicks, so it's pretty cheesy but you can listen to a sample of our cheap keyboard stuff: http://www.myfilehut.com/userfiles/166783/nevergonetokansas.mp3
I don't write my own music, but I have a friend who does. I'm absolutely in awe of her. She doesn't put it out on the internet, though, and she only sings it for a few people she trusts, so I guess I'm lucky to get to hear it at all. She's really good, though. I wish I could convince her to go more public with her work.
