This is an inane statement. I'm sorry, but neither of those governments will ever work. Communism, while perfect in theory, will never be successful so long as humans are involved. Humans tend to be self-serving, so few will be willing to work diligently when they will be provided food and housing regardless. While I may agree that a socialist state would work, there are no (truly) successful models to look to right now, other than those in small, mostly singular-race, countries such as Denmark and Switzerland. It does not seem to work too well on the larger, more diverse, scale.

I agree with Aron, everyone is essentially an independent. This two-party system that exists in our country is horrible and hinders the overall "democratic" process. While I tend to be quite (and a mean QUIIIIIITE) liberal, I have not elected to call myself a Democrat. Yes, I'm for gay marriage. Yes, I'm pro-choice. Hell yes, I support national health care.

Well of course in an imperfect world communism or socialism seem like bad governments, I am not saying that i would want the world or America to become communist or socialist, I am just saying of all the governments out there i believe those to be the most fair. I have lived in a Democratic-Republic all my life so i have not experienced either so all i have to go on is what I have read and what i have read about communism is that perfect communism though thought of as wrong is actually a fair government. I used to live near Switzerland actually, almost near the border between Italy and Switzerland.

And to ChosenOne, I do not think Woodstock would be a good example of where communism works
