ASEville Version 4 Coming Mon Apr 5, 2010 9:52:34 PM#117570Perm Link
I've decided it is time to start working on ASEville Version 4.
Since the modular nature of Version 4 allows multitude of sites to be created (http://www.aseadnet.com is an unlinked version 4 site), I'm not sure of the format that ASEville will take. What I'm thinking is to strip out the crap and focus on the community only content.
That means allowing people to post news and article directly with little to no moderation. There will be a sort of rating system to highlight good (and strip out the bad).
It's all in the design phase, but I think this will be a good addition. I've always wanted people in the community to post news and articles on whatever they want in an unmoderated fashion and I think this is what ASEville will be. I just hope it will be used this time around.
2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!
What was on ASEville V3 that wasn't community content?
Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
It wasn't that. I mean that I want to focus on the content portion instead of having the random other pieces (like journals or RSS feeds). I'm interested in doing one thing and doing it well.
I'd really like for the community to have an outlet for posting their own articles and news for people to see. I'm also interested in having the community do the "moderation" for it.
