Data-driven ad solution combines intelligent player targeting with dynamic ad
mediation to increase in-game ad revenues, reconciling monetization with player retention
for the first time in one toolkit.Â
deltaDNA [https://deltadna.com ], the Games Industry's leading analytics and game
personalization platform, today announces a major extension of its platform with SmartAds
[https://deltadna.com/smartads ] - a new data-driven ad-management solution which combines
intelligent player targeting with dynamic ad mediation to increase in-game ad revenues by
around 300 percent.
SmartAds achieves this by taking an innovative approach to in-game advertising, where
the player experience is placed at the heart of the process. Â The addition of SmartAds to
the deltaDNA platform provides developers with a holistic view of the entire game economy,
for the first time in one environment, enabling them to balance in-app purchasing (IAP)
and ad-serving with positive player experiences.
Drawing on deltaDNA's powerful analytics toolset and rich event data, SmartAds ensures
that each player gets the monetization experience they prefer by segmenting them into
either ad responsive or IAP responsive groups.
SmartAds improves ad-serving in two ways. Â Firstly developers can maximize CPM (cost
per mille) income as the platform predicts the value of each network and automatically
cascades the mediation, based on the ad value in real time and at a user level.
Secondly, developers can maximize impression density and fill-rates by using
predictive modelling of player behaviors and player targeting to fully optimize ad
relevancy.
In-game advertising can be managed either in "Auto" mode, where SmartAds is optimized
to target players and set ad density, based on your game dynamics, or in "Custom" mode,
where users have complete control over targeting.
With deltaDNA SmartAds, developers gain access to over 100 ad networks through one
single custom SDK, eliminating the implementation and data reconciliation headaches
associated with running SDKs from multiple ad networks. In addition, setting up
advertising with SmartAds is easy as ad parameters and placement of ads within the game
can be set from within the deltaDNA campaign manager.
Mark Robinson, CEO, deltaDNA, said: "We are truly independent and have no inventory to
sell; so we are focused on giving developers clear information and tools to optimize their
revenues. We've created a solution that fully respects the player experience while
maximizing ad revenues throughout the player lifecycle.
"With the SmartAds extension, users become masters of their own data with a holistic
view of the entire game economy in one environment. Â Our segmentation tools ensure each
player gets the right experience. Â We know novice players love ads, but expert players
hate them so let's give players the experience they deserve through effective use of ads
and IAP.
"The super cool thing is that our data shows higher ad revenues come from improved
relevancy, which in turn preserves player engagement levels and even increases review
ratings, so it truly is a virtuous circle where the player and developer both win."
About deltaDNAÂ
deltaDNA improves player engagement and lifetime values in Free-To-Play games. Its
technology solution uses advanced data mining and predictive modelling to identify
and segment different player behaviors.  Through this insight, players can be targeted
with real-time individually-targeted in-game messages offering personalized experiences
that increase retention and revenues.

IntelliMagic Vision Supports z/OS CPU Measurement Facility
New release features include support for SMF 113 records
SOUTHLAKE, Texas, July 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- IntelliMagic, the worldwide leader in Availability Intelligence for z/OS environments, today announced IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS version 8.2. Availability Intelligence offers a new way to protect continuous availability at the primary site with new visibility into the risk in the z/OS infrastructure to handle the peak workloads. This visibility is created through automatic interpretation of the SMF, RMF, and configuration data using specialized, built-in domain expertise.
This major release introduces support for CPU Measurement Facility (CPU MF) data in the SMF 113 record that provides insight into how your processors are performing. While the MIPS concept has been long retired, processor performance remains a key concern for all installations, if only because license charges are tied to it.
"The data in the SMF 113 record was designed to help IBM engineers understand customer workloads, both to resolve problems on current hardware and to help with the design of future generations," say Gilbert Houtekamer, Managing Director of IntelliMagic. "SMF 113 usage for sizing workloads is now the basis for IBMs' LSPR values. IntelliMagic Vision now adds a level of interpretation to these counters that enable customers to use them to tune their environments for the improved processor performance."
As mainframe processors continue to grow in scale, the effective processor speeds become increasingly dependent on the effectiveness of the processor caches and translation lookaside buffers (TLB). With IntelliMagic Vision, you can now see what fraction of the processor capacity is lost because of TLB-wait and cache miss, and how much improvement you get from such features as HiperDispatch and Large Pages.
To further tune the processor efficiency, IntelliMagic Vision provides reports that give insight in I/O or processor delays in the z/OS environment that cause tasks to hold memory longer than strictly needed. When such delays are addressed, IntelliMagic Vision can show the resulting improvement on the processor performance.
For more information on SMF 113 records, please see IntelliMagic's new white paper "Reporting on the Processor Hardware with SMF 113 Records."
Version 8.2 also introduces new reports and dashboards to track whether the Workload Manager (WLM) goals defined are actually met. This shows whether the important workloads get the service levels they need, and also to see if the goals that are defined are realistic. Unrealistic goals make it hard for the Workload Manager to optimize the overall throughput in the best possible way. The new capabilities summarize the workload manager health for an entire sysplex in a single view.
To discover more about IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS Disk and CPU Systems please join the IntelliMagic Webinar "New Processor and Workload Manager Reporting in IntelliMagic Vision 8.2 for z/OS" on Wednesday, August 12(th) from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM CDT.
During the webinar IntelliMagic storage performance expert, Dave Heggen, will show how IntelliMagic Vision can be used to monitor the performance of your z/OS System and Disk infrastructure and minimize performance problems as well as highlight some of the new performance perspectives, charts, and dashboards introduced in IntelliMagic Vision for z/OS version 8.2.
Mainframe sites interested in seeing their environment's data with the new reporting and availability protection capabilities are invited to participate in a low-cost IntelliMagic Vision as a Service engagement. Dashboards and reports are typically available within 24 hours of when your SMF data is first sent to IntelliMagic servers, and can be accessed through the IntelliMagic Vision Web Reporter. For more information, please contact sales@intellimagic.com.

Super League Gaming Launches First Ever In-Theater, Social Video Game League In Colorado
Founded By A Group Of Dads, Super League Gaming Has Partnered With The Nation's Three Largest Theater Chains To Bring Interactive Video Gameplay To Colorado Movie Theaters
LOS ANGELES, July 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's first in-theater gaming league, Super League Gaming, will take over 80+ movie theaters across 25 major U.S. cities for their Super League Gaming Summer Tour and is stopping in select Colorado theaters beginning on August 3rd, 2015. Players around the country will have the unique opportunity to play Super League's first game, Minecraft, side-by-side and in-person at their local movie theater for the first time ever.
Super League has partnered with the nation's three largest movie theater chains -- Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theatres, and Cinemark Theatres, as well as luxury chain iPic Theaters -- to transform video games into collaborative, team-building activities for kids.
The coast-to-coast, 25Â-city tour will run from June 15th through August 26th to introduce Super League Gaming's unique concept and get the word out about league gameplay, which starts with 6Â-week sessions on September 14th.
"Our own children were the inspiration for Super League," says Super League Gaming Co-Founder and Chief Visionary John Miller. "We saw how much our kids loved to play and we wanted to bring a more positive element to the whole thing. Making games interactive, team-based, and bringing gamers into a movie theater to play face-to-face really changes the experience for everyone. Parents, especially, love watching their kids build, strategize and collaborate, all on a giant movie screen where they can see the live action unfolding."
Each event is comprised of a 100-minute session that includes live team gameplay and individual battles, while players work to climb the leaderboard. Gamers play in the traditional first-person view on their laptops while watching a customized third-person aerial 'world view' with all players on the theater screen.
"We're thrilled about the new way in which Super League Gaming is able to use our facilities to help kids connect," says Cinemark VP, Head of Marketing & Communications, James Meredith. "We combine the latest technology with plush accommodations for an immersive entertainment experience perfect for gamers. Plus, they get to see their game happening right on the big screen."
Minecraft, one of the the world's most downloaded computer games, lets players use their imaginations to build anything they can conjure up in a 3D world. The popularity of the game has exploded in recent years thanks to YouTube gamers like CaptainSparklez, a YouTube celebrity with over 8.6 million subscribers, and a founding gamer among the Super League team.
"It's the social aspect that makes this really special," says Super League President and COO, Brett Morris. "The lights are up, kids are running around and making new friends, and parents are taking part in the activities. I'm a dad myself and it was so evident to us that kids don't want to play alone by themselves in their bedrooms. They want to get out and interact with other kids, doing something they enjoy."
The Summer Tour will bring Super League Gaming to over 80 theaters in the U.S. for $20 per event, followed by 6Â week league sessions in the fall where gamers play once a week for $120 per session.
Super League's Summer Tour will be stopping in Denver at the AMC Cherry Creek 8 and media are invited to attend. The Super League founding team will also be onsite and available for interviews during the event. For press passes or other requests please email Jasmine (jasmine@jbcomms.com).

China's Outrace Boosts Production Capacity up to 450,000 LED Bulbs Daily
Bulbs roll off the production line at a rate of one every 3 seconds, well ahead of most LED manufacturers
GAO'AN, China, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jiangxi Outrace Technology Co., Ltd. ("Outrace") edged itself into the international LED lighting market this May with its excellent production capacity. With a fully automated production facility, the company has maximized capacity and claims to now produce a finished product every three seconds, on average. During an interview with Outrace General Manager Zhang Jun, the reporters from China's Science and Technology Daily learned that, in terms of LED bulbs alone, the daily output of its automated production line has been increased to nearly 450,000 units, well ahead of the vast majority of LED makers.
Through the implementation of a cyber-physical production system (CPPS) based on machine-to-machine communication (M2M), Outrace has not only created smart factory workshops, but also achieved a fully automated end-to-end production capability. Under what General Manager Zhang termed as the "Manufacturing Execution System," the entire Outrace production line, from raw materials and parts to finished product, is an end-to-end production process based on automation standards and a wholly revolutionary and transformative approach when compared to the traditional manual assembly method.
"To produce a finished product every three seconds on average." Outrace is the first manufacturer in the LED sector to implement a holistic approach to quality control across the entire production process. Zhang explained that Outrace has 456 production lines, more than one-third of which are fully automated. Most of the automated lines are the ones that Outrace added most recently and that the maker developed on its own in accordance with industry standards.
Outrace is headquartered in Gao'an, a small city in China's Jiangxi Province. Like most Chinese cities, Gao'an is faced with continuously rising labor costs. The automated production capacities enables Outrace to tactfully confront the issue. Outrace has been able to reduce headcount by 15,000, overcoming the restrictions on growth that the massive workforce had imposed and has expanded capacity dramatically. With average annual wages near 40,000 yuan per headcount, Outrace has saved 600 million yuan in labor costs. That savings is the chief reason for the market competitiveness of the start-up.
Apart from applying technologies developed on its own to back-end production equipment, Outrace has also brought in industry-leading production equipment from Japan, Germany and other countries to ensure a yield rate higher than the company's peers across the sector.
To successfully establish a presence in the international market, Outrace has raised quality control standards across the full range of products since last year. The firm has passed the ISO9001 international quality management system certification, a passport for its entry into global markets. The certification demonstrates that Outraces's management systems have met international standards and that the firm expects to be able to continually provide qualified products.

Silent Circle Announces Branded Content Partnership With Guardian Labs
GENEVA, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Silent Circle has announced a branded content partnership with Guardian Labs. The investigative series - The Power of Privacy - examines the state of global privacy today and what becomes possible when businesses and people take control back. The campaign launches on July 23 and will last for six months.
Since its formation in 2012, Silent Circle has quickly become one of the most trusted providers of secure communications for enterprises across a variety of industries, from pharmaceuticals to finance to government.
The partnership will feature editorially independent pieces, including five films that look into issues of online business privacy. Content will be hosted on the technology section of theguardian.com and on the Media and Technology professional network. Further content will cover topics such as creative empowerment, how to achieve privacy on your own terms, as well as data visualizations and infographics that will bring to life the reality of privacy today. Silent Circle will also offer thought leadership pieces on the topic in their dedicated partnerzone. All content will be clearly labeled in line with the Guardian's sponsored content guidelines.
Silent Circle Chief Marketing Officer Rob Smith said: "The goal of this project is to turn the conversation around privacy from one of fear to one of positivity. To explore what privacy makes possible for people, and for enterprise businesses in particular. To look at where we are now, how we got here, where are we going next, and how can we protect ourselves", said Smith. He added: "The Guardian is the ideal platform as they have been instrumental in bringing important privacy-related stories to the public's attention."
Since moving to guardian.com, the Guardian has become one of the world's largest English language newspaper websites with a wide international reach.
For Silent Circle, this is a continuation of its quest to tell the story of privacy. Earlier this year, Silent Circle released a short film by independent content creator Ivan Cash. The piece featured employees discussing their smartphone app permissions, making the point that one of the greatest risks to enterprise businesses is their employees' use of smartphones at work.
"It has never been more important for individuals, businesses, governments and other organizations to understand privacy and what tools are available to protect it", said Smith. "The solutions exist. We're excited to inform a wider audience of what is possible when organizations and their employees are informed of how their privacy is being constantly compromised and, as a result, they are able to take control back."
Anna Watkins, Managing Director of Guardian Labs, said: "This is a truly remarkable collaboration that shows how branded content can be informative, engaging, smart and effective. By working with Silent Circle we have created a fantastic platform for a discussion on the topic of business privacy - a subject we know our readers are interested in and will want to engage with and share."

NEW YORK, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Karma, a New York City-based startup empowering people with a seamless internet connection, ships Karma Go. Karma Go is the company's second pocket-sized WiFi and lets you bring your internet connection with you, everywhere in the U.S.
"Finding reliable WiFi outside of the house or office has become too frustrating. You hunt for a network, track down the password and hope to stay online long enough to get something done," says Steven van Wel, Karma CEO & Co-Founder. "At Karma we are on a mission to make internet connectivity ubiquitous. To get there, we're taking the road less traveled by putting customers and design first so we can get you online, and get out of your way."
Karma sold over 20,000 units of Karma Go during their pre-order campaign. Karma Go offers the coverage and speeds that its first product lacked; with coverage expanding from 80 U.S. cities to over 460 and speeds that make WiFi on the go seamless. The battery lasts up to 9 days on sleep-mode and 6-8 hours in use.
The Hardware
For the sake of simplicity, Karma Go lacks a screen and only shows the two things that matter when getting online: signal strength and battery level. Karma Go is completely wireless and its pocket-sized form allows you to throw it in your bag and be on your way.
The Service
Karma Go rides on the Sprint 4G LTE network. Data is purchased directly through Karma--either online or through their mobile apps. Karma is free of contracts, hidden fees, subscriptions or monthly bills and is powered by data that never expires. With Karma, pay as you go for data and connect to WiFi on your own terms.
"Imagine filling up your car, not driving for a month, and having a gas company take what's left in the tank," explains van Wel. "It sounds ridiculous, but that has been happening to us and the data we own for decades."
Social Bandwidth: Share Your Karma Connection
Each Karma connection is available to up to eight devices; either your own or the people around you. Karma ties the data to the person, not the device, a feature called Social Bandwidth. This allows each person to only share access to their connection, never their data, so everyone picks up their own tab. Each time Karma is shared, all parties get 100MB of data. With Karma, everyone wins.
The Karma Mission
Karma was founded to create a future where internet access is ubiquitous, blurring the lines between internet at home, and internet elsewhere. Karma is taking back the internet and making WiFi so simple you never have to think about it. Karma is based in New York City, with teams in both The Netherlands and Italy. Karma launched its first product, Karma Classic, in 2012 during the Techstars Accelerator program and has received $3.5 million in funding.

PlayFab Expands European Presence to Serve Game Developers in the Region
Opens Berlin Office and Introduces Enhanced Productivity Features to Support Growing Demand in Europe
SEATTLE, July 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- PlayFab, the industry's most complete backend service to build, launch, and grow live games, today announced it is expanding its European presence with the opening of an office in Berlin and the addition of Europe-based developer support, under the company's GM of Europe, Mark Val. With 30 percent of the company's active clients based in Europe, and more than 1,000 local game developers registered for its services, PlayFab is bolstering its ability to support the region's momentum and growing demand for backend game operations technologies. Along with the new office, the company is releasing additional features and productivity enhancements that will be available to developers in Europe and around the world.
PlayFab has seen rapid adoption among game developers worldwide since the company launched its services last year. An increasing number of studios are looking to create live games and emphasize post-launch operations and success, but have been deterred by the costs and hassles of developing the necessary technologies in-house. PlayFab enables developers to overcome the traditional barriers to entry for launching and maintaining live games. Recent titles released by European developers that use the PlayFab platform include: VR Karts (PC/Oculus Rift) and VR Karts Sprint (Gear VR), virtual reality games from UK-based Viewpoint Games Ltd; Boomie Blast Island (iOS), a 3D arcade adventure game from Germany-based TreasureHunt; and Skara: The Blade Remains (PC), the first versus fighting game of its kind, developed by Spain-based 8-Bit Games.
"Live games are truly the future of the games industry, and developers who ignore this trend will eventually fall short," said Neil Campbell, technical director of Viewpoint Games. "Developing a backend that can support live game operations and continual success well beyond initial launch is extremely difficult and costly, and takes away from the resources a studio can allocate to creating a game. PlayFab has delivered tremendous value to our efforts and made it much easier for us to create games that are both artistic and geared for business success over the long term."
"Game development has changed, and in Europe in particular we're seeing the rise of thousands of small and medium-size studios -- and even the big studios are now focusing on smaller games," Val said. "The era of everyone doing everything themselves is over. We've seen a huge demand for our services across Europe, and with our new Berlin office on the Kurfürstendamm we'll be able to support our customers better than ever."
"I recently spoke at International Games Week in Berlin and was blown away by all of the creativity taking place there," said James Gwertzman, co-founder and CEO of PlayFab. "European developers comprise a significant portion of our customer base, and the interest in our platform has reached a point that requires more local support. Establishing a formal presence in Europe with a dedicated team will allow us to better serve the region and help drive the innovation that European developers are so well known for."
In addition to a dedicated presence in Europe, PlayFab has released additional features to help developers build, launch, and grow their games. New APIs support content management and virtual item trading, while productivity and usability enhancements to the Game Manager include improved two-factor authentication and a streamlined interface. Developers can also now take advantage of PayPal and Facebook payments in addition to Apple, Google, and Amazon, and authenticate players through Kongregate as well as Apple, Google, Facebook, Steam, and Amazon.
PlayFab has more than 7,000 developers and 10 million players registered on its platform. In June, the company launched PlayFab Free Tier, granting developers unlimited free access to some of the most popular elements of its backend game operations platform.
About PlayFab, Inc.
Based in Seattle, WA, PlayFab offers the most complete set of backend services to build, launch, and grow live games, including player accounts, virtual goods, analytics, leaderboards, multiplayer, in-game messaging, content management, and more. PlayFab's tools are cross-platform and designed to be used by mobile, PC, and console developers. For more information, visit playfab.com.

Over 80% of Companies Increased Revenue by Investing in Internet of Things: TCS Global Trend Study
- Average Increase in Revenue as a Result of IoT Initiatives is 15.6 Percent, While Market Leaders in IoT see 64 Percent Revenue Increase
- Companies Set to Make Huge IoT investments - With 7 Percent of Companies Planning to Spend $500m+ in 2015 Alone
- Major Roadblocks Stand in Way for Organizations Seeking to Capitalize on IoT
NEW YORK and MUMBAI, India, July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, has launched a major new global study looking at the impact of IoT technologies across a wide range of industry sectors around the world.
The TCS Global Trend study on IoT, which surveyed 795 executives from large multi-nationals, identifies the huge potential for revenue increases from IoT, while also highlighting the significant challenges that lie ahead for businesses transitioning to the new model.
Commenting on the study, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD of TCS, said: "The age of IoT is well underway. The question is, whether businesses are ready to realize the full potential of this technology. Our latest global trend study found that leaders in using IoT technologies are using it to completely reimagine their businesses by changing every aspect of them from business models and products to business processes and workplaces."
He added: "Now is the time for every leader in every industry to reimagine the possibilities for their businesses in a world of smart, connected 'things.'"
A significant opportunity for revenue growth through IoT
Across the board, companies investing in IoT are reporting significant revenue increases as a result of IoT initiatives, with an average increase of 15.6 percent in 2014. Almost one in ten (9 percent) saw a rise of at least 30 percent in revenue.
Company executives still see IoT as a growing area for businesses, with 12 percent of the 795 companies surveyed identifying a planned spend of $100m in 2015 and 3 percent looking to invest a minimum of $1bn. The report also shows that companies predict their IoT budgets twill increase year-on-year, with spending expected to grow by 20 percent by 2018 to $103m.
Companies at the very forefront of this drive for innovation through IoT have seen the biggest benefits from their investments. The top eight percent of respondents, based on ROI from IoT, report a staggering 64 percent average revenue gain in 2014 as a direct result of these investments. Currently the biggest business impact is that companies can offer their customers more bespoke products and services, yet by 2020 this will convert from marketing functions to increased sales, through adding considerable value to the customer.
This is reflected in the finding that the most frequent use of IoT technologies is tracking customers through mobile apps, used by almost half of all businesses (47 percent). More than half (50.8 percent) of IoT leaders admit to investing in IoT to track their products and how these were performing, whereas this is only the case with 16.1 percent of the respondents with the lowest ROI from IoT.
Culture is the number one issue holding companies back
Despite the encouraging data on IoT investment and its impact on revenue growth, the report also revealed that major challenges remain in realizing the promise of IoT for businesses across all sectors. The report found that the three biggest factors holding companies back were:
1. Corporate culture: respondents identified the ability to get employees to
change the way they think about customers, products and processes was a
major barrier;
2. Leadership: having top executives who believe in IoT and are willing to
invest time and resources is critical;
3. Technology: questions around technology continue to loom large, including
handling Big Data; internal vs. external development; integrating IoT
data with enterprise systems; and ensuring security and reliability.
Healthcare lags Industrial Manufacturing, which stands out for IoT success
The Healthcare sector has been hailed as having the greatest potential to benefit from IoT, but remains one of the most underdeveloped industries, due to regulatory restrictions and data security concerns that currently hinder innovation. The sector plans to spend just 0.3 percent of revenue in 2015, but will be increasing this investment by at least 30 percent by 2018. The healthcare market driven by IoT is predicted to be worth $117bn by 2020([1]).
In contrast, executives in the Industrial Manufacturing sector are reporting the largest increase in revenue from IoT, with an average 28.5 percent, followed by Financial Services (17.7 percent) and Media & Entertainment (17.4 percent). The Automotive industry has the lowest revenue gain, with just a 9.9 percent increase.
The report, which looks at trends across 13 key industries, found that large-scale investment in IoT infrastructure and monitoring is not confined to those in Manufacturing. For example, the Travel, Transportation and Hospitality sectors are planning to spend 0.6 percent of revenue this year on IoT, while Media and Entertainment companies will devote 0.57 percent of their revenue. This is significantly more than the 0.4 percent average and the 0.44 percent spend in Banking and Financial Services.
North America and Europe lead IoT adoption globally
Revenue increases are also being enjoyed globally, with all regions reporting double-digit growth in 2014, but US firms are reporting the largest gains of 18.8 percent, up from the previous year. In revenue terms, Europe as a whole is seeing a 12.9 percent increase, while Asia-Pacific reports a 14.1 percent increase and Latin America an impressive 18.3 percent growth. In 2015, European firms plan to spend $93.9 million on average, with French firms leading the charge ($138 million on average), ahead of Germany ($86.2 million) and the UK ($80.9 million).
North American companies will spend 0.45% of revenue this year on IoT initiatives, while European companies will spend 0.40%. Asia-Pacific companies will invest 0.34% of revenue in the IoT, and Latin American firms will spend 0.23% of revenue. This has led to North American and European companies more frequently selling smart, connected products, compared to Asia-Pacific and Latin American companies.

Slimware Utilities' DriverUpdate(TM) Tool Makes Upgrading to Windows® 10 a Cinch
PC Software Solution Helps Automate and Ease Transition
NEW YORK, July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Slimware Utilities Holdings, Inc., a leader in PC optimization solutions, today announced Windows® 10 compatibility with its DriverUpdate(TM) product. DriverUpdate(TM) allows consumers to scan their system and, with its one-click premium feature, automatically update their drivers so that all hardware (printers, scanners, monitors, video cards, and more) will work more smoothly with the new operating system. Slimware also shares five top tips to transition to Windows® 10 seamlessly.
"While Windows® 10 offers terrific new features in terms of functionality, transitioning to a new operating system can cause problems in a PC if the right steps are not taken to make sure that all components of the system are functioning well together," said Bob Bryant, chief technology officer at Slimware Utilities. "Consumers will want to update their PC's drivers to make sure that their new Windows® 10 operating system communicates properly with their hardware, such as their printers, monitors, scanners, joysticks, USB busses and video cards, to avoid loss of functionality."
How it works in five steps:
1. Understand how drivers work. Drivers are small pieces of software that
allow a computer to communicate with hardware and devices. Without the
correct drivers, the hardware connected to a computer - for example, a
video card or a printer - won't work properly.
2. Get a clear profile. Run a scan with DriverUpdate(TM), which gives a
clean, clear view of drivers that may need updating.
3. Download up-to-date drivers. Once registered for the premium features
available, simply pull the most up-to-date drivers from Slimware
Utilities' cloud. The community-sourced software is constantly on the
lookout, automatically detecting whenever new driver versions are
released and pulling them into Slimware Utilities' cloud for storage.
4. Update the right drivers. With its one-click premium feature,
DriverUpdate(TM) automatically scans a computer, figures out what kind of
hardware is present and downloads the correct, up-to-date driver. This
updated driver is delivered from the Slimware Utilities' cloud database
directly to the user's PC.
5. Drivers are automatically updated. One by one, the selected drivers begin
their install processes automatically. DriverUpdate(TM) gives consumers
the ability to save time and effort by not worrying about choosing the
right drivers. DriverUpdate(TM) helps software and hardware communicate
efficiently, making applications on a PC and its devices work together
properly.
Make the transition to Windows® 10 smooth and successful by following these simple steps:
1. Make a reservation for a free Windows® 10 upgrade. Microsoft is offering
free upgrades to Windows® 10 when it becomes available, beginning July
29, 2015. Users can register now to receive their free upgrade:
http://www.microsoft.com/EN-US/windows.
2. Back up important files before beginning. It's better to be safe than
sorry. As with any system upgrade or change, backing up the files and
documents on your PC is always a good idea.
3. Clean up PC. With a new OS, everything needs to run smoothly for a clean
and fast experience. SlimCleaner Plus(TM) cleans and optimizes all PCs
with the help of user-generated data.
4. Update the software. Microsoft users should update their current
operating system software before upgrading. For example, Windows® 7
users should be running Windows® 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), and Windows® 8
users should be running Windows® 8.1 (Update), according to Microsoft's
Windows® 10 FAQ.
5. Update drivers. For those who may not want to spend time hunting for the
correct driver software, using an automated solution will identify and
install the exact drivers needed to make all hardware work in perfect
harmony with the new operating system.
DriverUpdate(TM) is available for $29.97, and can be downloaded at http://www.driverupdate.net.

Fujitsu Makes HPC More Accessible to Customers with Innovative HPC Gateway Web software
- Fujitsu extends accessibility of High Performance Computing via the desktop
- Online demonstration center enables customers to use their own data to trial HPC technology
- New HPC Gateway Web software introduces new intuitive interface to enable easier access to HPC
- Powerful system based on FUJITSU Integrated System PRIMEFLEX for HPC
SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu today announces a breakthrough in making High Performance Computing (HPC) more accessible to a wider customer base. A series of innovations include an online demonstration center that allows customers to experience the power of HPC, using their own data.
Continued advances in simulation software and hardware technologies are making the use of HPC even more attractive to a wider audience. Advantages include lowering prototyping costs, accelerating design and validation timeframes, eradicating errors, and improving product quality through optimization. HPC also contributes to driving innovation through exploration of design, and enables research using virtual experiments that cannot be practically built.
As part of its initiative to bring the power of HPC to a wider audience, Fujitsu is opening an online HPC Gateway demonstration center in Toulouse, France. This gives customers a chance to see first hand how Fujitsu's vision of Human Centric Innovation simplifies and extends the use of HPC via a variety of deployment scenarios.
The demo center is powered by the FUJITSU Integrated System PRIMEFLEX® for HPC solution. Customers can explore how HPC can boost their business by running simulations and testing a wide range of functionality via the Fujitsu HPC Cluster, using their own data, but from the comfort and convenience of their own offices - with secure access to data provided by the web-based Fujitsu HPC Gateway integrated web workplace.
With the FUJITSU Software HPC Gateway, Fujitsu is aiming at simplifying High Performance Computing and embedding expertise, via a new approach to web-enabling access to HPC clusters and servers.
In contrast to the often limited conventional view found in other web interfaces, the Fujitsu HPC Gateway leverages a familiar, rich 'desktop' interactive environment, giving users a more flexible and engaging experience. A naturally intuitive design is intended to help even new users quickly become operational and productive. The ability to have multiple concurrent views increases connections between activities and data, driving a more effective project workflow.
Fujitsu is also making efforts to widen accessibility of HPC via the introduction of an Application Catalog of pre-built packages around widely-used HPC codes, based on Fujitsu's expertise in HPC processes, methods and visualization. This transferred expertise means end-users can expect to be productive from their first login via the HPC Gateway, and can expect their HPC workloads to operate more robustly and effectively.
Darius Wilke, General Manager Global High Performance Computing Business, Fujitsu says: "Fujitsu is focusing on simplicity to provide a new entry point to HPC. We are enabling more users to learn quickly and work more effectively with High Performance Computing - at lower risk and higher ROI. Through offering an HPC Application Catalog, a much wider base of customers immediately gain access to our industrialized expertise, since this can be scaled to the largest number of individuals and teams."

Announcing Vervid: The World's First Dedicated Vertical Video Platform
"YouTube of Vertical Videos" Delivers High-Definition Video for How We Naturally Hold Our Phones
SILICON VALLEY, Calif., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Vervid, the world's first dedicated Vertical Video platform, launched today promising to reinvent the way we create and experience video on our phones.
"Watch out, YouTube," warned Doug Harris of Slate Magazine when he discovered Vervid in June, pointing out that YouTube should be providing a better experience for the growing market of users consuming video on their phones.
-- Mobile video consumption is set to outpace desktop viewing, and
engagement is 9x higher with Vertical Video
-- Existing platforms treat Vertical Video as a medium for disposable
messaging
-- Vervid delivers content in HD up to five minutes in length, and it
doesn't disappear
"In the 90's, we gathered around TV's. In the 2000's, we curled up with our laptops. Today, video is personal and we consume most of it on our phones. We're holding our screens vertically 90% of the time, yet there are no platforms dedicated to serving video content exclusively that way," says John Whaley, Co-Founder and CEO.
John Whaley and Daniel Proksch, a husband-and-husband design and mobile development team with extensive product development experience for Silicon Valley Fortune 500 Companies, started building Vervid last summer in response to anti-Vertical Video PSA's such as Glove and Boots' now-infamous "Vertical Video Syndrome."
"We love a good challenge," Proksch says. "We're convinced Vertical Video can be immersive and look great. It just needs a space of its own. Vine did it with the Square aspect ratio. We're doing the same with Vertical Video."
Whaley and Proksch see immersive Vertical Video as the next untapped frontier in mobile, an assumption that's been recently validated with Evan Spiegel's push to get brands to start embracing vertical video ads.
On top of tall-format HD Vertical Videos, Vervid introduces "living profile pictures." When you tap them, they play. Vervid calls these tiny 8-second videos "Bursts."
Vervid's "Bursts" will port out to Apple watch as a standalone Notifications platform later this year.
About the Founders
Daniel Proksch spent the last five years at U-Systems and GE Healthcare as a lead developer building 3D cancer detection tools. John Whaley is an Industrial Designer and UX Researcher holding multiple patents in the product design space.
The Sixth Flag, CRN Emerging Vendor 2015, Launches desktop.tsf(TM) for Google Chrome Devices
RALEIGH, N.C., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sixth Flag, Inc., a groundbreaking new Desktop-as-a Service firm launched earlier this year, announced today it has been named to The Channel Company's exclusive 2015 CRN® Emerging Vendors List. The annual list features up-and-coming technology vendors that have introduced innovative new products, creating opportunities for channel partners in North America to create high-value, cutting-edge solutions for their customers. The vendors recognized this year have demonstrated a commitment to developing new technologies to meet growing market demands.
Along with this recognition, The Sixth Flag today released desktop.tsf(TM) for Google Chrome devices, a special configuration of the company's desktop.tsf(TM) that allows organizations to use the Google Chrome device platform, including Chromebox and Chromebook devices, as dedicated thin clients. By replacing local PCs with Chrome devices, administrators can implement cost-effective, zero premise-based configuration desktop computing.
"We are honored to be one of 2015's Emerging Vendors and are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that will continue to benefit channel partners in servicing their customers," said Pete Kofod, Founder & CEO of The Sixth Flag. "With the release of desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices, organizations can deploy competitively priced thin clients for their desktop.tsf(TM) environment. desktop.tsf(TM) is a perfect platform for organizations that may not have IT staff on premises but want to simplify and streamline desktop deployment and support for remote users," added Kofod.
While desktop.tsf(TM) centralizes the user's desktop, IT administrators still have premise-based computing devices to contend with, including operating system and application updates and configuration. By deploying Chrome devices, administrators can implement cost-effective, zero premise-based configuration desktop computing.
"Even before our launch, we were receiving requests for thin client support," said David Kinghorn, former Microsoft developer and The Sixth Flag Co-founder & CTO. "Given our strategic commitment to HTML, we found Google Chrome devices to be a natural fit."
desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices is based on the same award-winning service as desktop.tsf(TM). The key differences lie in the user interface and management. "desktop.tsf(TM) customers can implement desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices without any changes to their environment," adds Shane Yocum, VP Business Development at The Sixth Flag. "The capability will be seamless and introduced as a part of system upgrades."

New KODAK Video Monitors Curb False Alarms with Smart Detection
Industry-First Technology Powered by Tend & Apical Eliminates Up to 98% of False Alarms
FREMONT, Calif., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's home WiFi cameras suffer from a major annoyance: a flood of false alarms created by ceiling fans, lighting changes and other harmless movement. New KODAK V-Series Video Monitors solve the problem with industry-first Smart Detection that eliminates up to 70% to 98% of false alarms and associated incident notifications. It's a major advance that saves time otherwise wasted in checking surveillance video to determine whether a given alert was triggered by an HVAC system rustling the drapes or a burglar ransacking the house.
Two Models
Developed by KODAK licensee Tend, which also created the award-winning KODAK Baby Monitoring System, the new KODAK CFH-V10 (MSRP $99.99) and CFH-V15 (MSRP $129.99) Video Monitors enable users to keep an eye on any room or door as well as pets, babysitters, elderly relatives and even small offices or businesses in real time via smartphone, tablet or computer. Both models include unlimited live HD streaming video, two-way audio talkback, automatic night vision, and free 1-Day Cloud Storage enabling users to review all recorded motion-triggered video clips from the past 24 hours. The CFH-V15 adds the ability to pan 350° left and right and tilt 105° up and down for a broader field of view.
Smart Detection
A first-of-its-kind Smart Detection option, available at $2.99/month per video monitor, features at its core the ART(TM) human presence detection from UK-based Apical Ltd. to intelligently analyze in near real time all video recorded by the KODAK V-Series Video Monitors and differentiate normal ambient activity from potential threats. Users who choose this option can configure the system's free iSecurity+ app to filter alerts either by:
-- Activity - to report moving objects ranging from a rolling ball to the
family dog, a vehicle in the driveway, a person at the front door, or
individuals inside the house.
-- People - to report only human movement inside or outside the premises,
from package delivery to caregivers, intruders or unauthorized teenage
parties.
The Activity filter reduces false alarms by up to 70% while the People filter reduces notifications by up to 98%, avoiding overloading users with nuisance alerts and enabling them to focus on recorded activity of potentially greatest concern.
14- & 30-Day Cloud Storage Options
The new KODAK V-Series Video Monitors also give users the option to retain surveillance video longer than the 1-Day Cloud Storage included free with every system. Both the 14-Day Cloud Storage plan ($9.99/month per video monitor) and 30-Day Cloud Storage plan ($19.99/month per video monitor) include Smart Detection, 1000 favorites, and the ability to view motion-triggered video clips for a longer period of time to adjust for busy schedules or enable repeated viewing of specific incidents.
Availability
Both the KODAK CFH-V10 and CFH-V15 Video Monitors are available immediately on Amazon. For more information, visit connectedfamilyhome.com.

Google, Novartis and EPGL in Race to Develop First "Autofocus" Contact Lens
IRVINE, Calif., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EP Global Communications, Inc. (Public OTC: EPGL)
Novartis CEO Joseph Jimenez has told the Financial Times that the market for an "Autofocus" contact lens could be worth, "anywhere between $10 billion and $50 billion in the next ten years." The Financial Times went on to say; "While Google's efforts building a smart lens with a built-in wireless chip and glucose sensor have grabbed most headlines so far, the really juicy opportunity is in corrective eyewear. If the company can build a contact lens that offers its wearer 'autofocus' powers similar to those found in digital cameras for bringing scenes into tight focus, it can address a range of eye ailments and failings with a single solution, rather than requiring the kinds of fixed prescriptions that we use now, and that are often compromises rather than perfect solutions."
For the first time, EPGL is revealing specifically that it has developed technology for an "Autofocus" contact lens with CooperVision, Inc.
"We know we are ahead of Google and Novartis because Novartis executives reached out to us in 2013. We declined because we were already ahead and inventing new electronics for contact lenses at that point," said David Markus, Ph.D. "We posted proof of this request in 2014," Markus added. "We also posted an example of a recent patent filing so that investors could verify that too."
"The investment community has been asking for specifics on what we possess and here you go," said Michael Hayes, CEO of EPGL. "You have the CEO of a $280 billion company publicly stating that 'Autofocus' contact lens technology is worth $10 to $50 billion annually. EPGL owns key 'Autofocus' technology that is likely to beat Novartis and Google to market. Given that fact, is our present 5 cent per share stock price a bargain right now? Yes I believe it is. Will it remain at this level as the clock ticks at the USPTO? No I do not believe so," added Hayes. "With this news EPGL is going to be discovered by more investors and I believe we may surpass .88 cents or even $1.00+ as our patents pending progress. Current EPGL investors are in at just the right time in my opinion."
Zacks Equity Research, recently stated; "We believe The Cooper Companies is poised to gain significant market traction, once it receives the exclusive license of EP Global's technologies."
EPGL and AT&T in Two-Year Development Agreement for Joint Technologies
EP Global Communications, Inc. announces that under a two-year Development Agreement, EP Global Communications, Inc. and AT&T Inc. now have joint ownership of several wearable technologies involving sensing and communications in real time of human performance data. This technology has potential applications for US Military and Corporate Workforces, by offering real time sensing of human performance data. AT&T brings unmatched communications network capabilities to the table, while EPGL brings unmatched know-how in microelectronics and sensor technologies.
"Imagine the multitude of needs for a large military or corporate workforce at any given moment. Imagine giving each individual key information or physical assistance if needed, faster than ever before, in real time, even if they are unable to communicate the need themselves. This is the cutting edge of wearable IoT technology and we are excited to co-own the rights to certain IP in this field with AT&T," said Michael Hayes, President of EPGL. "Because of this and our other IP projects, we believe we are just at the beginning of our potential growth at EPGL."

Market Dynamics for Data Center Security & Compression
There are several trends driving the need for high performance and new crypto and compression functionality in Data Centers. Customer applications running in VMs in the virtualized cloud data center need data traffic flowing to and from their VMs to be encrypted. This east-west traffic flow drives high performance symmetric encryption bandwidth requirements for protocols such as IPsec. At the same time, asymmetric cryptographic performance requirements are exploding as well driven by the need for SaaS providers such as search engines, email services and social networking services to encrypt all customer data they receive over the internet using SSL and new crypto schemes such as Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS). Today most of the SSL transactions use 2048 bit RSA key operations but given the massive growth in mobile clients, the need for high bandwidth Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) is rapidly increasing. Another major trend is the need for high performance data compression with excellent compression ratios for data center traffic. This widespread adoption of encryption (SSL or IPsec), new crypto schemes and compression is significantly changing the performance and functionality requirements in a data center and is driving the need for a new security and compression processor.
The NITROX V Security Processor family with its unique combination of performance, features and interfaces, provides an excellent solution to the data center security and compression challenges.
