The additions include the TB67S269FTG bipolar stepping motor driver with a maximum rating of 50V and 2.0A, and three brushless DC motor drivers: the TB67B001FTG, TB67B008FTG and TB67B008FNG with maximum rating of 25V and 3.0A.

Housed in a small (7 x 7 x 0.5mm(3)) WQFN48 package to support end-product downsizing and cost reduction, the TB67S269FTG also incorporates built-in error-detection circuits, including thermal shutdown and overcurrent protection. The three new brushless DC motor drivers are three-phase sensorless driver ICs for small cooling fans used in network servers and eco-conscious home appliances. To operate at peak efficiency, these fans require quiet operation. The new products feature a 150-degree wide-angle commutation drive, which contributes to reduced vibration and motor noise [2], and 30,000rpm motor rotation utilizing a high-speed pulse-width modulation (PWM) drive to enhance cooling.
The driver ICs are also downsized to accommodate the fans' need for smaller motors. The TB67B001FTG features a leadless 5 x 5 x 0.9mm(3) VQFN36 package, the TB67B008FTG offers a 4 x 4 x 0.75mm(3) WQFN24 package, and the TB67B008FNG adopts a typical SSOP24 package (8.3 x 7.6 x 1.6mm(3)). Mass production commenced late last month.

MSA Closes In on Certification of New Breathing Apparatus for Firefighters

The 1/2.6-inch PureCel-S(TM) OV13860 image sensor uses large 1.3-micron pixels and leverages OmniVision's new stacked die technology to deliver exceptional low-light performance while meeting the design constraints of low z-height camera modules.

The PureCel-S(TM) OV13860 is the first in OmniVision's family of high-performance backside-illuminated PureCel(TM) image sensors to leverage the company's stacked die technology, which separates the imaging array from the image sensor processing pipeline into a stacked die structure. This allows for additional functionality to be implemented on the sensor while providing for a much smaller footprint when compared with non-stacked sensors, thus enabling smaller module sizes for larger optical format sensors.
Among the OV13860's advanced features is autofocus contrast calculation at an extremely fast 120 frames per second (FPS) while imaging at full 13-megapixel resolution to enable a fast autofocus camera system. When paired with a high-speed actuator, the OV13860 can provide for nearly instant autofocus by delivering contrast statistics at up to four times faster than traditional single frame-based contrast calculations. The OV13860 also supports alternate row dual-exposure high dynamic range (HDR) timing mode for delivering HDR video in challenging lighting scenes.
The OV13860's large 1.3-micron pixels enable dramatically improved high- and low-light performance as a result of higher sensitivity, signal-to-noise ratio, and full-well capacity when compared to products of similar or higher resolution with 1.12-micron pixels. The OV13860 can capture full-resolution 13-megapixel still images at 30 FPS or record ultra-high resolution 4K2K video at 30 FPS, 1080p full HD at 60 FPS, or 720p HD at 120 FPS.
