The Beatles' Acclaimed Studio Album Remasters To Be Released Worldwide On 180-Gram Vinyl
LONDON, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beatles' acclaimed original studio album remasters, released on CD in 2009 and in 2010 for digital download exclusively on iTunes, will make their long-awaited stereo vinyl debut on 12(th) November (13(th) November in North America).
Manufactured on 180-gram, audiophile quality vinyl with replicated artwork, the 14 albums return to their original glory with details including the poster in The Beatles (The White Album), the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band's cutouts, and special inner bags for some of the titles. Each album will be available individually, and accompanied by a stunning, elegantly designed 252-page hardbound book in a lavish boxed edition which is limited to 50,000 copies worldwide.
The book, exclusive to the boxed edition, is authored by award-winning radio producer Kevin Howlett and features a dedicated chapter for each of the albums, as well as insight into the creation of the remasters and how the vinyl albums were prepared. The 12"x12" book showcases a wealth of photographs spanning The Beatles' recording career, including many images which were not included in the 2009 CD booklets.
The titles include The Beatles' 12 original UK albums, first released between 1963 and 1970, the US-originated Magical Mystery Tour, now part of the group's core catalogue, and Past Masters, Volumes One & Two, featuring non-album A-sides and B-sides, EP tracks and rarities. With this release, The Beatles' first four albums make their North American stereo vinyl debuts. In 2013, the remastered albums will make their mono vinyl debuts.
Since it was recorded, The Beatles' music has been heard on a variety of formats - from chunky reel-to-reel tapes and eight-track cartridges to invisible computer files. But there has never been a more romantic or thrilling medium for music than a long-playing twelve-inch disc. We 'play' records. The process of carefully slipping the disc out of the sleeve, cleaning it and lowering the stylus provides a personal involvement in the reproduction of the music.
When The Beatles' albums were first released, the listener enjoyed a tangible relationship with the music in the grooves of a record. There was an emotional connection to the artifact carrying the sound, and this bond was strengthened by the LP sleeve. Rather than a merely functional object to protect the disc, it was elevated to a stylish accessory. Certainly, the cover of a Beatles album conveyed a message about the music it was wrapped around. For example, the dominant orange and brown hues and elongated faces on the front of Rubber Soul seem to embody the sound of the record. With the advent of the cassette tape in the seventies and the compact disc in the 1980s, album artwork was reduced in size and importance, losing much of its charm. That is partly why vinyl LPs have not, as predicted, been discarded.
None of that would really matter, were it not for the enduring power of The Beatles' music. In September, 2009, The Beatles' remastered albums on CD graced charts around the world. Seventeen million album sales within seven months was resounding evidence of the timeless relevance of their legacy. Through five decades, the music of The Beatles has captivated generation upon generation.
For producer Rick Rubin, surveying The Beatles' recorded achievements is akin to witnessing a miracle. "If we look at it by today's standards, whoever the most popular bands in the world are, they will typically put out an album every four years," Rubin said in a 2009 radio series interview. "So, let's say two albums as an eight year cycle. And think of the growth or change between those two albums. The idea that The Beatles made thirteen albums in seven years and went through that arc of change... it can't be done. Truthfully, I think of it as proof of God, because it's beyond man's ability."

NetSuite Open Pro Squash Championships Come To San Francisco
World's Top Three Ranked Players to Compete for Championship on Waterfront Glass Court
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- NetSuite Inc. (NYSE: N), the industry's leading provider of cloud-based financials / Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software suites, today announced that the 2012 NetSuite Open Professional Squash Championships will bring the world's best players, including the top three ranked players in the world, to San Francisco for the first time in a unique setting - an outdoor glass court on the city's waterfront - October 20-23, 2012. James Willstrop and Nick Matthew of England and Gregory Gaultier of France, ranked number one, two and three in the world, respectively, by the Professional Squash Association, top the roster of main draw entries vying for $70,000 in prize money at the NetSuite Open.
Thousands of passersby will be able to watch the lightning-fast action for free when the Professional Squash Association World Tour event unfolds inside the four-wall court on the south lawn at Justin Herman Plaza opposite of the Ferry Building.
The title sponsor of the NetSuite Open, NetSuite was co-founded by Evan Goldberg, Chief Technical Officer and Chairman of the Board. An avid squash player of over 20 years, Goldberg was instrumental in launching the inaugural tournament last year at Stanford University.
"This will be a world class event in a world class city. Thanks to NetSuite, the #1 cloud ERP software suites company in the world, the tournament will bring the world's top squash players to San Francisco. We want people to experience the excitement of pro squash at this level," said former national squash champion John Nimick, a U.S. Squash Hall of Famer and president of Event Engine, Inc., the tournament producer. "The outdoor court on the Embarcadero overlooking the San Francisco Bay is a compelling venue for squash enthusiasts, Bay Area residents and visitors alike."
"All the top international players are excited about coming to San Francisco for this new major event. The setting sounds fantastic and we're looking forward to helping promote the sport in a city that has such a healthy and growing squash community," said James Willstrop, the #1 squash player in the world.
The NetSuite Open is the first international professional squash event on the West Coast to use the iconic "Glass Cube" court with two-way glass. It will make its Northern California debut in San Francisco, having previously captivated squash fans at New York's Grand Central Terminal, the Field Museum in Chicago, Symphony Hall in Boston and in Egypt and Hong Kong.
The 18,000-pound, 32-by-20-foot court made by McWIL has walls of 12-millimeter tempered glass with a special ceramic frit dot fired into the interior surface that allows the players to see a colored, nearly opaque wall while spectators outside the court view through clear glass. It has an electronic scoreboard, a 42-inch TV, two 50-inch LCD screens and a six-speaker sound system.
The tournament's official charities are SquashDrive (Bay Area) and Xtreme Squash (Palo Alto/Stanford), two urban youth enrichment organizations that offer academic support, life skills and squash instruction to underserved children. Their youth members will be invited to special clinics and to serve as ball kids for the professional matches.
In partnership with Bay Club San Francisco, the NetSuite Open will offer free squash instruction to the public during non-session times. Local pros will lead free clinics and free Try Squash! programs during the days that the glass court is in use.
Early rounds of the tournament will take place at Stanford University and local clubs October 17-19.
Squash is growing quickly around the globe and is bidding to be an Olympic sport in 2020. There are currently 800,000 squash players in the United States and 12 million players in 122 countries worldwide.
The NetSuite Open coincides with World Squash Day on October 20, when more than 10,000 players around the world will stage a global show of support for the Olympic bid by competing in the "2020 Challenge," the biggest squash match in history.
In conjunction with the NetSuite Open, a World Squash Day "2020 College Challenge" will feature Stanford University, USC and University of California at Berkeley students in short mini-matches on the glass court on Saturday, October 20.
Some 400 reserved seats are available for the NetSuite Open, ranging in price from $30 to $250. For tickets, draws, schedule and more information, visit http://www.netsuiteopensquash.com.

CrowdOptic and The Big Picture Film and Video Arts Partner to Pinpoint Locations for Breaking News
SAN FRANCISCO and SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CrowdOptic, a maker of crowd-powered mobile applications, and The Big Picture Film and Video Arts Inc., a leading provider of video production solutions for broadcast television, today entered into a broad agreement to tag news reports in real time with the precise GPS location of the breaking news event - a breakthrough capability in the Electronic News Gathering industry, where traditionally only a reporter's location is known.
CrowdOptic technology will allow broadcasters with the The Big Picture to tag a breaking news event, such as a fire "in the hills," with a precise GPS location during a real time broadcast, which can be used to automatically cluster, verify and broadcast all photos and videos of that same location. "A news event may be tagged on a map at the newsroom and then all photos containing that location's tag may flow into a control room as reporters, or even the general public, through crowdsourcing, supply supplementary photos and videos," said George Lang, president at The Big Picture.
"When precise GPS coordinates are known, they can be used to invite contributions which will be automatically clustered and verified," said CrowdOptic CEO Jon Fisher. "This partnership is a major milestone in the nature of how news is broadcast."
CrowdOptic's technology, which identifies and tags the location of focus of a group of mobile phones in real time, works by using sensor data on smartphones to determine where a phone is aimed and to identify clusters of phones with the same focus. Photos and videos of that location are automatically tagged and cameras aimed at the tagged location are instantly identified. CrowdOptic technology can operate in real time as part of a live broadcast or retroactively to cluster and tag material from historical broadcasts.
About The Big Picture Film and Video Arts Inc.

The new service is aimed specifically towards US-based consumers with any level of credit history (good, bad or none) and is totally free to use.
The process can be initiated through completion of a very short and simple online application form. This form is connected to a selection of highly-rated online short term lenders and allows consumers' details to be immediately perused and approved by lenders where indicated. Following approval, a consumer can expect to receive the extra funds directly into their bank checking account within an hour. Repayment is collected the same, convenient way; by direct banking transfer (Direct Debit) on a pre-agreed date between lender and borrower. This is usually on their subsequent pay day.
A spokesperson for Online-PaydayLoans made the announcement.
"Online-PaydayLoans.net is very pleased to announce our new no-fuss, fast answer to the problem of running a little low on cash before that next pay check clears. The popularity of the online payday loan concept is clear and we are meeting the needs of a growing number of Americans by offering a clever, quick and simple way to compare all of the many lenders that offer such a financial helping hand online. By trusting us with their search, consumers can rest assured that we will introduce them to only the most reputable lenders offering the most competitively rated loans available."
The spokesperson continued, "Our new service is free to use and we invite consumers to come to the website and conduct their free search to get their pay day loans the easy way. No credit checking, no annoying paper forms to fill in and no intrusive questions. Just 3 minutes, a few standard questions and that cash could be winging its way into a checking account within sixty short minutes. There's really nothing to it!"
Decrease system cost and complexity in resolver-based motor control systems with TI's C2000(TM) Delfino(TM) microcontrollers
A single 32-bit Delfino microcontroller eliminates the need for an additional resolver-to-digital converter IC in precision servo motor control systems
HOUSTON, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Solving a prevalent digital motor control design problem for customers, Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) introduces 32-bit C2000(TM) Delfino(TM) microcontrollers as resolver-to-digital converter interfaces for motor control systems, lowering system cost while delivering more efficient motor control capabilities. These high-performance, floating-point Delfino microcontrollers with an on-chip, high-precision analog-to-digital converter, along with an external low-cost signal conditioning circuit, provide motor control designers an alternative to more expensive and complex semiconductor solutions.
Both resolvers and encoders are used in typical precision servo motor control systems, such as industrial drives and automotive power steering and traction control. Resolvers and encoders provide shaft position feedback to the control unit, but resolvers are highly accurate and noise immune, proving more robust and rugged than encoders. However, resolvers require a special precision resolver-to-digital converter to interface to a digital control system. These converters add complexity and cost to the motor control solution. Delfino microcontrollers can duplicate this functionality of producing the excitation signal and sampling and processing the feedback to obtain the angular reading as part of the motor control algorithms executed by these devices without the need for a dedicated resolver-to-digital converter, allowing advanced torque, speed and position control to be achieved with even greater accuracy. In addition, optimized Delfino microcontroller resolver software to ease development is available for free from TI.
Features and benefits of Delfino microcontrollers:
-- Up to 300 MHz C28x core provides fast interrupt response, minimal
latency, execution of complex control algorithms and real-time data
analysis.
-- 32-bit floating-point unit eases programming of magnitude calculations,
eliminates scaling and saturation burden and improves performance of
algorithms such as Park transforms and proportional integral derivatives
(PID).
-- Up to 516 KB of on-chip, single-cycle access RAM enables high-speed
program execution and data access.
-- Up to 65ps flexible, high-resolution pulse-width modulators (PWMs) allow
for optimal precision.
-- CAN, I2C, SPI and standard serial interface (SCI) peripherals enable
easy connectivity for management of system communication.
-- Internal 12-bit, 12.5 MSPS ADC and the option for an external ADC with
the analog-to-digital converter (ADC) interface, giving developers
flexibility to use the on-board ADC or select from TI's broad portfolio
of high-accuracy ADCs, such as the ADC161S626, ADS1205 and ADS1209.
-- Code compatibility across the C2000 platform enables developers to
easily scale product lines and reuse code in controllers ranging from 40
MHz Piccolo(TM) microcontrollers to 300 MHz Delfino microcontrollers.
Pricing and availability of Delfino microcontrollers, tools and software
Delfino microcontrollers start at $8.95 USD in quantities of 1,000 units. Designers can get started developing on Delfino microcontrollers with a variety of software and tools. DockSafe uses Traka's immobiliser system to control access both to the loading bay and
Castell's Salvo Susie mechanical locking device. Since only authorised users can gain
access to the loading bay equipment, the possibility of untrained staff accessing
potentially hazardous equipment is removed.
Access is granted through the intelligent Traka iFob, which allows Castell's Salvo
Susie to be released from its storage cabinet. The Salvo Susie is then fitted to the
articulated trailer's exposed emergency airline coupling. A Castell key is subsequently
released from the Susie and inserted into the Salvo Control Panel, enabling the bay doors
to be opened. This sequence of events ensures that the trailer is immobilised while
loading or unloading is carried out.
Castell's considerable experience in the provision of loading bay safety systems has
seen the company install Salvo on thousands of loading bays worldwide. Similarly, Traka's
expertise lies in access control solutions for forklift trucks and loading bay door
control within logistics and distribution markets across the globe. Together the two
companies have created a system that enhances loading bay safety regardless of vehicle
type. The system restricts access to authorised personnel only, and gives full
traceability in terms of who used which door, and when this occurred. This audit trail is
vital when assessing both performance and efficiency.
David Hughes, global sales director at Castell, commented: "The ability to track and
control who is accessing equipment delivers a number of benefits to the end user:
increased safety, improved efficiency and a complete end-to-end audit trail. I believe
this system presents the market with a unique solution."
Traka's managing director Robert Smith also sees DockSafe as "a truly unique solution,
which protects the health and safety of all employees involved in loading bay operations,
while improving business efficiency in a cost-effective way."

Free iOS app allows users to digitize paper documents anywhere, anytime
BERKELEY, Calif,, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Captricity, Inc., today announced the release of the Captricity mobile app, a free iOS app that lets users digitize paper documents directly from their mobile devices. The app, available for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, interfaces directly with Captricity's award-winning cloud-based data capture service.
Captricity allows users to extract data from images of paper documents--even handwritten forms--and easily convert that data into digital spreadsheets. Users have been able to upload scans or photos through Captricity's website, but now the mobile app allows paper forms to be captured, submitted, and reviewed instantly, from any location.
"Paper is often still the best choice for data collection in the field, for everything from client satisfaction surveys to service receipts to inspection checklists," said Kuang Chen, founder and CEO at Captricity. "But if you can snap and upload an image of that paper form right at the point of service, your whole organization gets faster and more convenient access to its data."
The vision for the Captricity mobile app has been brewing since Chen's PhD fieldwork at a rural health program in Uganda, where community health workers walk from home to home writing down information on the clients they visit. Frustrated by data entry delays that prevented timely access to the community's health indicators, Chen set out to develop a technology that would allow health workers to quickly and easily report life-saving data trapped on paper. The key was the mobile phone in their pockets.
"After Captricity's data capture service matured, the next logical extension was mobile capture by remote and distributed agents," said Chen. "Whether it's for social workers, sales agents, or anyone working in the field, the Captricity mobile app replaces an age-old problem of data entry with a simple and elegant smartphone app experience."
The app requires a free Captricity account, and enables users to digitize forms using existing templates that they have created on the Captricity site. Users can submit these digitization jobs for processing using either Apple's in-app purchase or their account's existing credit balance.
The Captricity mobile app is available for free on the iTunes store, and is also linked from the Captricity web service. An equivalent Android OS app is in the works.
Built with the Captricity API
The Captricity mobile app showcases the power of Captricity's soon-to-be-released API. "We built the entire app using the exact same set of API calls that we are making available to any developer who wants to come sign up," Chen said. "The Captricity mobile app is just an example of the kinds of scenarios that are possible, and we're excited to see what developers can come up with." Developers interested in signing up for the API preview can register themselves at: http://captricity.com/developer-api/
About Captricity
Captricity is an award-winning Berkeley, CA-based company that offers a completely self-serve data entry service for digitizing paper forms. Captricity extracts data off of paper and into digital tables quickly and cheaply, via captricity.com for end users and via its API for developers. Captricity is not OCR; it is human-quality (double-key) data extraction, even from free-form and cursive handwriting. For more information, please visit http://captricity.com/press-center/

Innovative Anite Device Test Solution Accelerates VoLTE Products
FLEET, England, September 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Solution Provides Flexible, Comprehensive and Cost-effective VoLTE Device
Testing
Anite, a global leader in wireless device testing technology, today announced that its
development, conformance and interoperability device testing solutions support Voice over
LTE (VoLTE), adopting an innovative approach that improves test efficiency and accelerates
new VoLTE devices to market.
The Anite VoLTE device testing solution resides on an in-house developed IP Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS) platform, independent of any third party provider, which leads to a more
efficient and flexible solution for users, who include device and chipset manufacturers,
and mobile operators.
Voice is still a major revenue generator for most global operators. VoLTE has received
widespread backing in the telecoms industry as the technology for voice on LTE networks.
As different operators are choosing to implement VoLTE in different ways, it is essential
for device and chipset manufacturers to fully test the underlying air interface protocols
in order to achieve the necessary QoS (Quality of Service) for VoLTE calls. Operators will
also need to rigorously test the VoLTE capable devices to ensure they perform as expected
in real-life situations and a high end user experience is maintained, both in terms of
voice quality and features, such as emergency calls and SMS over their LTE network.
VoLTE testing will be performed from the early stages of R&D right up until launch.
For developers and test engineers interested in testing VoLTE and SRVCC (Single Radio
Voice Call Continuity) to meet both 3GPP and operator-specific standards, Anite's
independent and flexible platform enables users to customise their tests in a simulated
network environment, ensuring functionality is optimally implemented. This results in
quick and effective device qualification, helping to assure a high level of end user
satisfaction.
"Anite is proud to announce the availability of our highly innovative VoLTE solution,
which enables us to retain a high degree of flexibility and control in our solutions and
roadmap, ensuring that we can quickly meet customers' requirements," said Paul Beaver,
Products Director of Anite. "Anite's unrivalled leadership and expertise in protocol
testing is the cornerstone of our VoLTE solution."

Quadra POSTs Record Technology ROI Thanks to Aquarium
HALE and ALTRINCHAM, England, September 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
Aquarium Software has assisted Quadra Claims in achieving over 300% return on
investment (ROI) since the deployment of Aquarium's technology platform into Quadra's
business just two years ago. This impressive achievement has led to Quadra being
short-listed for the prestigious upcoming POST Loss Adjusting Awards 2012.
Short-listed businesses including Quadra have been invited to the gala awards ceremony
on 13 November, to be held at the highly renowned Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington High
Street, London. Quadra Claims Services has been short-listed in the Loss Adjusting
Technology Initiative of the Year category, alongside leading industry names like Davies
Group Loss Adjusters.
Dave Greenwood, Director of Quadra Claims Services, said: "We are absolutely delighted
to be nominated alongside such a distinguished and respected company as Davies. This
nomination is testament to the ethos and values that have underpinned Quadra since day
one, of building sustainable relationships, being the best at all time, investing in
technology to drive efficiencies and taking responsibility and ownership of every claim.
We are all honoured to be recognised amongst our peers after just two years of building
our company. The short-listing in the Technology Initiative of the Year category would not
have been possible without Aquarium's deployment in our business and they too should take
much credit for their involvement in our recent success.
"When setting up Quadra we instinctively knew that the claims processing engine needed
to be the heart of our machine. We considered a number of software vendors , but the view
was that whilst they covered the number crunching around claims well, they fundamentally
lacked the process-centric capacity to automatically drive a claim forwards. After several
months of due diligence we chose Aquarium Software who offered the right blend of claims
experience, strong process & workflow tools and end-user configurability. Aquarium was a
ground-up cloud-based solution that matched well with what we were looking for in terms of
functional richness coupled with a competitive price point - essential for a start-up
operation," Dave added.
The benefits of Aquarium's bespoke Loss Adjusting software deployment for Quadra
includes a tangible net saving of four full time equivalent (FTE) positions, stemming from
a significant reduction in claim cycle time; fully automated MI production; reduced
inbound underwriter calls thanks to self-service ability; significant reduction in
policyholder complaints, and improved use of time for existing loss adjusters whose time
is now freed up for higher value management tasks.
Aquarium provides Quadra customers with instant access via a secure web portal
whenever needed, in addition to automated 28 day updates on consolidated cases and
individual claims. The Aquarium Software deployment has also been directly linked by
Quadra to significant new insurer-branded business revenues, made possible by the business
process improvement brought about as a result of using Aquarium to organise the business
more effectively.
"The emphasis on our technology deployment with Quadra means less time filling in
paper-work, giving the client more time to perform the skilled task of adjusting; it's as
simple as that," said Mark Colonnese, Sales and Marketing Director for Aquarium Software.
"We're delighted to have played our small part in assisting Quadra reach the
short-list of the POST Loss Adjusting Awards and we wish them every success on the night.
Hopefully all will recognise that this is already a considerable achievement for Quadra -
a company only a couple of years old who are already competing on the national stage in
their industry sector and who we are proud to be associated with," Mark added.
Aquarium has built its business and its reputation on delivering a seamless software
as a service (SaaS) individually tailored to clients needs. The end result is a business
solution which is intuitive, practical and invaluable.
Established in 2006, Aquarium's client base has grown rapidly in numbers as the
company's reputation for delivering SaaS solutions for companies with demanding data needs
have spread. Not being tied to one limited server in the office enables businesses taking
advantage of Aquarium software and its cloud computing and web security know-how can enjoy
unlimited access and login worldwide - with unlimited capacity and unlimited users.
About Quadra Claims
Quadra was founded in April 2010 by the former management team of Carr-Greenwood-Smith
(CGS): Dave Greenwood, John Carr, Graham Cranford-Smith and Chris Rechtern (CGS was
Acquired by Merlin Claims in 2007). The senior team recognised that to prosper having an
effective IT backbone was going to be an essential component in supporting their ambitious
growth plans. They also understood that the way in which software was being delivered to
end users had fundamentally changed with increasing access to the Internet both in the
office, at home and on the move. They realised that this method of system delivery had
massive potential to open up new and innovative ways of working with both policyholders
and underwriters. Whatever solution they chose it was going to have to be web or
cloud-based at its heart.

Qualcomm Announces New Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8x25Q Processors with Quad-Core CPUs and Reference Design Counterpart for High-Volume Smartphones
- Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8x30 Platform to Support LTE -TDD/TD-SCDMA and All Three China Operators -
BEIJING, Sept. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the addition of two new Snapdragon(TM) S4 mobile processors: the MSM8225Q and MSM8625Q. Both are members of the Snapdragon S4 Play processor tier, optimized specifically for a broad range of smartphone users seeking faster applications and better user experiences. Snapdragon S4 Play processors will now offer OEMs both dual-core and quad-core CPUs and performance for entry-level smartphones, with the more advanced version featuring higher bus bandwidth, larger screen resolution support, HD video and enhanced user experiences. Both processors will be ready for customer sampling by end of 2012 and are expected to be shipping in commercial devices in the first quarter of 2013.
The MSM8225Q and MSM8625Q processors incorporate quad-core CPUs and are the upgraded software compatible variants of the highly successful Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8225 and MSM8625 processors, which both feature dual-core CPUs and dual SIM support. The quad-core variants will support LPDDR2 memory, increasing the bus bandwidth for improved features such as 720p display and 720p video encode and decode. Snapdragon S4 Play MSM8625Q features Qualcomm's integrated multimode UMTS/CDMA modem, and the MSM8225Q has an integrated UMTS modem. Both processors enable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM connectivity using the Qualcomm Atheros AR6005 and WCN2243 chips.
In addition, Qualcomm also announced a single platform, the Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8930, that supports all China operators with UMTS, CDMA and TD-SCDMA. Furthermore, this single platform will support LTE-TDD and TD-SCDMA, targeting mid-tier smartphones for use in China. Announced in February 2011, this processor features dual-core CPUs and as the world's first single-chip solution with an integrated LTE modem, it is designed to take LTE to high-volume smartphones. Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8930 with LTE-TDD and TD-SCDMA support will be ready for customer sampling by the end of 2012 and is expected to be shipping in commercial devices by the first quarter of 2013.
Qualcomm will also be releasing Qualcomm Reference Design (QRD) versions of all three processors. The QRD program includes comprehensive handset development platforms and an ecosystem program providing access to third-party providers of tested and verified hardware and software components so customers can rapidly deliver differentiated smartphones to budget conscious consumers. The Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and FM connectivity technologies have been pre-validated and tested with the QRD platform to provide reduced time-to-market. There have been more than 50 public QRD-based product launches to date in collaboration with more than 40 OEMs, and there are 100 designs in progress, including QRD-based smartphones enabled by these new Snapdragon S4 Play and Plus processors, which are also expected to be available by the first quarter of 2013.
"Our broad portfolio of Snapdragon S4 mobile processors delivers the optimal balance of features and performance for the high-volume smartphone segment," said Cristiano Amon, senior vice president and co-president of mobile and computing products. "By offering both dual-core and quad-core CPU versions of the Snapdragon S4 Play processor, we are providing our OEM and operating partners a competitive and differentiated platform."
The new Snapdragon S4 Play and Plus processors are designed specifically for high-volume smartphones, and they provide device manufacturers the ability to migrate their existing Snapdragon S1-based designs to S4 dual- and quad-core CPU-based designs. This capability is particularly useful for device manufacturers looking to efficiently expand their smartphone product lines with more advanced 3G/LTE smartphone products.

The Advanced Diamond Selector Tool at KingofJewelry.com Places a Whole Diamond Vault at Your Disposal
King of Jewelry, the premier diamond engagement ring source in Los Angeles, wants you to choose only the right diamond for your needs
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- You don't become the number one source for diamond wedding rings and engagement rings in Southern California by resting on your laurels, and that's exactly why the new Diamond Selector Tool exists at KingofJewelry.com, the online wing of King of Jewelry's retail store. Whether you want to see diamonds for diamond engagement rings organized by weight (in carats), clarity, certification, or color, you won't find a simpler method than by using this exclusive new diamond selector tool.
Find the exact princess, round, or emerald cut for your personal fashion sense, and tell your potential husband to be about it before he proposes. Incidentally, King of Jewelry has plenty of diamonds for men's diamond wedding rings as well. Alternatively, look for the clarity of diamond that makes your heart sing, and find out just how big of a stone you can afford with that clarity. There are countless ways to take advantage of this great tool to make your shopping process more efficient, and your purchase a smarter one!
What's often intimidating about shopping for a diamond is that having never seen a whole vault full of diamonds it can be hard to feel like you're choosing wisely. There aren't very many people who have actually seen enough diamonds at once to have the proper frame of reference. Only a jewel heist movie really presents the handfuls of diamonds you have to peruse to feel like you've been choosy. Instead, a jeweler will show you a small number of diamonds over the course of your shopping period, and perhaps advocate for each one.
King of Jewelry has decided to hand some of that control back to their customers. There's precedent for this, of course. King of Jewelry has long been the kind of place where you could control your own jewelry purchase by selecting jewel and setting separately. Now, however, there's a way to peruse the entire selection. Use the diamond selector not just to find the right diamond, but to find the right price.
There's nothing wrong with browsing the multiple carat diamonds and becoming familiar with them. But unfortunately, we're not all socialites, and we can't all afford $2 Million engagement rings. Learn the ropes, however, and you'll make a better choice at the end of the process.
Of course you can still shop in person, or by phone at 1(888) 349-8299 but to use the diamond selector tool, go to http://www.kingofjewelry.com.
