Plusnet and "Go ON Sheffield" Help Hundreds to get Online
SHEFFIELD, England, December 12, 2011/PRNewswire/ --
A team of Plusnet volunteers have been busy helping out at several events across
Sheffield as part of a UK campaign run by Race Online 2012, which aims to help offline
residents take their first steps with computers and the Internet. In Sheffield alone,
there are an estimated 95,000 residents* without Internet access.
Over 50 events were held throughout the City, at venues including Sheffield Town Hall,
The Bankers Draft pub on Market Place, High Storrs School and Sheffield United Football
Club, with volunteers from UK online centres, Heeley Development Trust, Plusnet and
Sheffield University all assisting at the events.
The events catered for a wide range of people including those looking for work,
wanting to get in touch with relatives all across the world or just wanting to learn more
about the things they love. Betty Tilbrooke, 78, was one visitor who got online for the
first time at the event held at Sheffield Town Hall. She said: "I'm sick of calling myself
the invisible person because everything that's interesting is on 'www'. If I can do this,
I can book my cinema and train tickets, and will even be able to order my groceries online
if the bad weather comes again this winter. My daughter and son have been saying "Get
online Mum!" for ages. If you don't learn about computers, you're going to be left
behind."

Sheffield, had 25 volunteers helping out at various events round the city centre. Katy

The S-25AxxxB EEPROMs achieve both 300,000 data-writes and 50-year data retention at 125 C. Memory capacity is from 8k to 256k bits.
Today's automobile designs increasingly require higher-performance EEPROMs in the on-board systems that control the car's operation and fuel consumption, while ensuring the passenger's comfort and safety. Along with the requirement for increased EEPROM capacity, automotive applications also require extremely high reliability and security. The SII S-25AxxxB series was developed to specifically answer the demanding needs of the automotive market.
While conventional EEPROMs typically have significantly degraded write performance at high temperatures, the S-25AxxxB series assures performance of up to 300,000 writes at 125 C, along with retention of the EEPROM data for as long as 50 years.

"SAFEBALLS" - Ground-breaking new Safety Technology from Austria Prevents Explosions in Fuel Tanks
HIRTENBERG, Austria, December 9, 2011/PRNewswire/ --
The Austrian company, SAFEBALL Technology GmbH, has introduced a new, innovative
safety technology that significantly reduces the risk of fuel-tank explosions in the
civilian and military sectors. The technology in question takes the form of special balls
that prevent the ignition of explosive gas mixtures in fuel tanks. They will be available
starting in January 2012 under the brand name "SAFEBALL". With a diameter of about 30mm,
the balls offer some significant advantages over the use of extruded metal mesh or plastic
foams that have been used for more than 40 years.
In specific terms, SAFEBALLS(R) are a spherical filling material that is introduced
into the container and completely fills it (liquid or gaseous content, fuels or other
chemicals) - either during the construction of the container or at any time afterwards by
"blowing them" into the available filler hole in the container. SAFEBALLS(R) are
manufactured out of specially developed, high-performance plastic using nanotechnology.
For the spheres, Baytubes(R) multi-wall carbon nanotubes from Bayer Material-Science AG
are being used exclusively worldwide.
A container filled with SAFEBALLS(R) cannot explode, since the explosion is already
prevented in its formation stage when explosive gas mixtures are exposed to thermal or
mechanical factors (when an aircraft crashes, a military vehicle comes under fire, an
automobile accident, etc.). The electrical conductivity of the SAFEBALLS(R) prevents a
static discharge inside the container, thereby eliminating the risk that an explosive
gas/air mixture will be ignited by an electrostatic discharge. SAFEBALLS(R) significantly
reduce the evaporation of liquids in the tank and the release of hydrocarbons into the
environment as part of the tank "breathing". The balls therefore may make an important
contribution to environmental protection in the future. Although the respective container
may be completely filled with SAFEBALLS(R), the loss of available volume is less than 8%
and at approximately 110 g/litre, the weight increase is minor. SAFEBALLS(R) contain
highly active silver ions and therefore have bacteriostatic, fungistatic and algistatic
properties. This means that they prevent the formation of fungi, bacteria and algae in the
tank. The special shape of the balls allows an undisturbed flow of liquids and gasses, and
also neutralizes the dreaded "surge effect." This refers to the displacement of large
amounts of liquids when operating road tankers, which impedes stabile operation and can
even lead to the vehicle tipping over. The SAFEBALL(R) balls can be easily sucked out of
the tank for cleaning and then reintroduced again after the maintenance work is complete.
SAFEBALLS(R) do not wear out and are maintenance-free.
SAFEBALLS(R) can be equipped with a range of additional functions for special
applications. In addition to a fire-fighting capability - in which an extinguishing gel is
built into the filling material - these include the option of integrating active and
passive transponders in order to store data electronically for protection against vehicle
theft or maintenance instructions.

announced financial results for the fiscal quarter and six months ended
October 31, 2011. All figures are in US dollars and in accordance with
International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS") unless otherwise
specified.
The Company's second quarter fiscal 2012 revenue of $21.9 million
represented a 21% decline relative to revenue of $27.5 million in the
second quarter of fiscal 2011 and a 2% decline as compared to the first
quarter fiscal 2012. Revenue for the first six months of fiscal 2012 of
$44.3 million declined by 16% relative to the first six months of
fiscal 2011. Revenue declines in the second quarter and first six
months of fiscal 2012 were due to normal quarterly revenue volatility
and the negative impact of the ongoing global macro-economic situation,
particularly in the banking sector.
Net loss for the second quarter of fiscal 2012 was $2.3 million or $0.13
per common share as compared to net earnings of $1.2 million or $0.07
per share in the second quarter of fiscal 2011. Net loss for the
six-month period ended October 31, 2011 was $3.2 million or $0.18 per
common share as compared to net earnings of $1.3 million or $0.07 per
share in the six-month period ended October 31, 2010.
The Company's cash and short-term investment position of $44.3 million
at October 31, 2011 increased by $424,000 as compared to October 31,
2010 but declined by $1.5 million relative to $45.8 million at April
30, 2011.

March Networks to be Acquired by Infinova (Canada) Ltd. in a C$5.00 Per Share All-Cash Transaction
OTTAWA, Dec. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - March Networks® (TSX:MN), a global provider
of intelligent IP video solutions, today announced that it has entered
into a definitive agreement (the "Arrangement Agreement") with Infinova
(Canada) Ltd. ("Infinova") and Shenzhen Infinova Ltd. ("Shenzhen
Infinova"), a company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange
(SHE:002528), majority owned by U.S. shareholders and with U.S.
headquarters in Monmouth Junction, N.J. Pursuant to the Arrangement
Agreement, Infinova will acquire, through a statutory plan of
arrangement, all of the issued and outstanding common shares of March
Networks Corporation (the "Company" or "March Networks") for C$5.00 per
share in cash (the "Arrangement"). The total value of the transaction
is approximately C$90.1 million. The Arrangement is subject to
approvals by the shareholders of March Networks and Shenzhen Infinova,
approvals of applicable regulatory bodies and the Ontario court, and
other customary closing conditions.

industry consolidation over the next five years. Infinova offers March

The Company's Board of Directors (the "Board"), after receiving the
recommendation of its special committee (the "Special Committee") and
consulting with its financial and legal advisors, has unanimously
determined that the Arrangement is fair from a financial point of view
to March Networks shareholders and that it is in the best interests of
the Company to implement the Arrangement, and has resolved to recommend
that Company shareholders vote in favour of the Arrangement at a
special meeting of shareholders to be convened for this purpose. Morgan
Keegan & Company, Inc., acting as an exclusive financial advisor to the
Special Committee with respect to the process of reviewing strategic
alternatives available to the Company, has provided an opinion to the
effect that the consideration proposed to be paid for the Company
shares under the Arrangement is fair, from a financial point of view,
to March Networks shareholders. Blair Franklin Capital Partners Inc.
has also delivered an opinion to the Special Committee to the effect
that the consideration proposed to be paid for the Company shares under
the Arrangement is fair, from a financial point of view, to March
Networks shareholders. Complete copies of both fairness opinions will
be included with the Company's management proxy circular to be prepared
and mailed to the Company shareholders in respect of the Arrangement
(the "Circular").
The Arrangement represents the culmination of the comprehensive process
of reviewing strategic alternatives available to the Company, as
announced by March Networks on June 8, 2011. The C$5.00 per Company
share offered by Infinova represents a premium of approximately 24% to
the closing price of the Company shares on the Toronto Stock Exchange
(the "TSX") on June 8, 2011, the last trading day prior to that
announcement. On December 8, 2011, the last day preceding today's
announcement on which the Company shares traded on the TSX, the TSX
closing price of the Company shares was C$4.89.
The directors and certain senior officers of the Company, holding
together approximately 22% of the total outstanding Company shares,
have entered into voting support agreements with Infinova under which
they have agreed to vote their shares in favour of the Arrangement.
The proposed transaction will be implemented by way of a plan of
arrangement under the provisions of the Canada Business Corporations Act, requiring the approval of at least 662/3% of the votes cast at the
special shareholder meeting to be called to consider the Arrangement.
Following the special meeting, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice
will hear an application for a final order approving the Arrangement.
Under the Arrangement Agreement, the transaction is also subject to
receipt of regulatory approvals in China and Canada and the
satisfaction of certain other closing conditions customary in
arrangements of this nature. The Arrangement Agreement also provides
for, among other things, Board support and non-solicitation covenants
(subject to the fiduciary obligations of the Board and an Infinova
right to match any superior proposal) as well as the payment of an
approximately C$1.4 milliontermination fee by March Networks or an approximately C$1.4 millionbreak-up fee by Infinova if the Arrangement is not completed in certain
circumstances. Infinova will finance the acquisition from available
cash and will not require external financing.
The terms and conditions of the Arrangement will be summarized in the
Circular, which is expected to be mailed to the Company shareholders in
February 2012. A copy of the Arrangement Agreement will be available on
SEDAR at http://www.sedar.com.
The parties expect that the Arrangement will be completed in the fourth
quarter of fiscal2012, subject to the satisfaction or waiver of various closing
conditions. Following the closing of the Arrangement, the March
Networks shares will be de-listed from the TSX.
