Possible ideas for ongoing posts. Thu Feb 16, 2006 6:48:13 PM#14949Perm Link
I think the main reason for the low post count is that there isn't anything frivilous to do in-between topics that really interest people. My idea is this: A ongoing topic or topics about frivilous subject matter. For example, possibly a "quote the picture" contest, or a funny picture thread. Any ideas or comments?
Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today? Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection. Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!
I was thinking something more involved, like maybe photoshop or picture-taking contests (w/o prizes, but maybe with leaderboards or something), or possibly some kind of writing thing. As you said, there are many people here into art and the like, and I think it would be a good idea to get them more involved with the site. The way I see it, if we get some kind of long-term discussion type thing going (and I don't really count word assosciation and things of that nature to be too involved, as it's much along the lines of AIM fodder), than passers-by may look and see the site and join it due to the activity. The only real area that has that much constant activity is the Adult Discussions forum, and since that is members-only viewage, I think a legitimate discussion would get more members to join.

Edit: I fully support the quotation picture thing. That could be a weekly thing. Start it up!
If I was to do this, do you want me to run it through ASE's photo inventory or through something like Imageshack?
