Hello, I use to be artictrouble but now I'm articntrouble; came back via ASE Labs and figured out finally it is all linked together so even though I no longer have my old 'friends List' I will look out for those I remember. It is good to be back and getting ready to finally do my first build after wanting to for almost 3 Years. I plan on taking photos during the whole process.
Gigabyte GA-990XA-UD3, Phenom II X4 970 Black @ 3.5, G.Skill Sniper DDR3-1600 4 X 4 gig's, WD Black 7200rpm 1.5 TB, ATI Fire-Pro V4800 Kubuntu & Ubuntu 64-bit on separate primary partitions and sharing Doc.'s,Music and Pictures on a Logical Partition.
Hey, Have you done your build? I joined cause I plan on doing one too. just got my NZXT today. Do you have pictures up? where, if you do. I can use all the inspiration I can get.
I did take pictures but have not gotten to uploading from my camera yet, hope to do so this next week-end. This was my first build and it is running great. Well I guess it should seeing as I have gone from a single core 1.33 GHz CPU to a 4 core 3.5 GHz and 1GB of DDR2 RAM to 16GB of DDR3 {1600}.
I will be checking in and out as I am configuring my system. I went with the KDE Linux so I can have more freedom to customize even more but that also means a learning curve.
The one thing I learned the hard way ; being my first build; is that you should not install a bunch of case mod stuff inside the case until after you get the Mobo, CPU, RAM and Video cards in first.
I made the mistake of having 2 120mm case fans up top and the PSU inside my case with cables already routed and it just made a difficult time with the heat-sink and fan mounting.
If you have any specific questions you can ask or better yet post. This is a very good place with a lot of helpful people.
