Xbox Modding

Since my Live subscription is coming to an end, I figured it would cool to try some of those nifty Xbox mods for new front ends and other nice stuff. Has anyone got any information on putting new front ends and such on it? This is for the original Xbox.

I have a soft-modded Xbox, and I put in a 120 GB harddrive. I have like 7 or 8 games on the hard drive now and a few more to transfer. Also, my own Halo 2 modifications and crap. When you get yours working, we'll play modded Halo 2 on XBC. It's fun.

Can you link me to a guide to soft-modding the system? I've been reading, but most require another modded system...?

Well since I barely use my box anymore I might as well try to do something cool with it who knows/

Aron, I asked my friend for the tutorial he gave me, but you are going to need Action Replay, and Mech Assault or 007: Agent Underfire to get it working.

I perfer Splinter Cell bc i have file on my pc for that game.....other two Ill have to find the game saves but no biggy hard to find those old games....

You need a Action replay or any type of device to transfer gamesave from pc to xbox... Check out here http://www.codejunkies.com

Once you get those two things you will be ready formost of the soft mod procedure


P.S Are you upgrading the xbox HDD bc if you are then you will need xbox Hdd maker.. I have it just need to know bc then it adds more steps to the tut.

Aron, I personally like my 360 controller for PC way better than my modded x-box controller. It is a fun project though.

Here's a good guide to xbox modding. You can also softmod a 360, although I don't know a guide for it. Also nobody has one so who cares? (I might get one except that me and my wife play Wow so prolly not)

Awesome. I am ready and waiting...

Here is the tut

1. First take your action Replay and Copy the 2 Splinter Cell files. (one is a linux and another is a splinter cell profile that activates it)

2. Then once transfer to xbox... put in you splinter cell.

3. Load the prfile named linux...(If it does not load try erasing all splintercell files and profiles and start again... if still then it is your profiles, check them)

4. Then it should load a program called unleash X

5. You then should hit back up epprom.. (important)

6. Then you should hit install Unleash X

There you go for just installation... If you want to upgrade then you will have to get a program call xboxhd maker. and ?I would have to make another tut

I just purchased Splinter Cell for $10 and when I get home, the modding will begin. I'll let everyone know how it goes...

I also want to upgrade the hard drive at a later date.

I've been wanting to get that Xbox Media Center thing up and running. I may purchase a Xbox just for that.

It went great. I can post a more indepth guide soon about it. There is another installer I used that makes it really easy.
