red at night salors delight, red in the morning salor must take warning.........sorry random moment there.
"VoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. "
I used to live in a 'rural' (it actually had a huge population, considering, but it was all spaced out) Route 66 sidecity in the High Desert of the Mojave a couple years ago. The street I lived on have one street light in view of my house and it was waaaaaaay down the road at the intersection. So, provided you didn't trip the light sensor on the garage, you could sit in the driveway any day and gaze up at a blanket of countless stars. It was the High Desert, so it didn't get cold at night like normal deserts and it allowed for all fog and smog to settle off the hill, leaving us with a beautiful clear sky (of course, it also set us 'upwind' so when there was the huge forest fire three years ago it 'snowed' ash. Kind of like Silent Hill but less awesome).
I adore stars, I can get lost in them. I used to love going the the Observatory when I was a wee little thing before it closed down. So I guess I was spoiled by the vast rural city because when I moved back to LA I found you can't see any bloody stars here, what with the smog and the ridiculous amount of ambient light. I'm lucky if I see one. Quite sad =(
I can usually see the moon, though
Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?
The Observatory was somewhere in LA on a big ol' hill or something. The last time I went I was maybe 12 or something, then it shut down, so I can't remember too well =\
Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?
