Microsoft support prices costlier

While Vista was being released Microsoft increased the support prices for Windows and Office suite both. Do they expected that people will need more support from them? You can get more details about that at http://www.neowin.net/index.php?act=view&id=37870.

I don't understand how people allow Microsoft to sell a product and expect to PAY for support. Usually if a product has a problem, the manufacturer will troubleshoot and fix it.

I guess the software industry is just stupid.

And that is the exact reason I try not to use Microsoft. There days we have very good alternatives starting from OS to Office. What we need is just a will to use those software.
