I recently bought my mother a new computer and now i have a useless computer so i decided to run a server for my private use.

What Flavor Of Linux Should i use to run a This server? Stick with the buntu's or use Red hat or others?
Its an old amd 1.38Ghz (single) With soon 1 gig of ram. nothing fancy
And this is a game server mind you.

Don't know how I missed this thread earlier...

Learning Red Hat is a good way to go for servers since most companies use that.

You should download CentOS which is the community built version of Red Hat.

If it is a game server, strip it down. Don't even load X.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

Yep Thats what my cousin Told Me to do.

Im going to have to wait and get a dvd off of one of my relatives, i don't feal like making 8 Cd's.
