Socionext Starts Volume Production of New "Camera Front Engine" from Milbeaut Image Processor Series
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2015 /CNW/ -- Socionext America Inc., a new leader in advanced custom SoC design technology, today announced volume production of its new MB86S29, a 'camera front engine' specialized for Bayer data processing that accommodates new functions of the industry's latest image sensors.
The MB86S29 is the newest Milbeaut Image Processor product from Socionext and is targeted mainly for smartphones. By accommodating new functionalities of the latest image sensors, the MB86S29 lets module makers implement these functions without replacing their application processors.
Recently, it is common to find cameras in smartphones or other mobile devices that are configured with application processors (AP) equipped with built-in image signal processor (ISP) functionalities. These APs can directly process output from image sensors, and help reduce the footprint and cost of camera modules. The MB86S29 supports this trend as a "Camera Front Engine" that replaces conventional ISPs. Connected in between an image sensor and an AP, it is specialized for Bayer data processing, so users can configure their APs with the same interface directory connected to image sensors, and to make full use of phase detect auto focus (AF) or high dynamic range (HDR).
The MB86S29 has 4 lanes each of 2.1Gbps MIPI Rx / Tx. It can process 16M pixel images at 30 frame per second (fps). It is also applicable for noise reduction, shading correction, and 3A (AE / AF / AWB) detection. It is available in the smallest package of any member of the Milbeaut series, at 4mm x 4mm.

The MB86S29 can process data with different exposure settings within one image so it can process the HDR images with higher visibility in 16M pixel, at the speed of 30 fps.

New Lineup of High Power White LEDs Optimized for Output, Power Efficiency

How Fujitsu reduces data growth costs
The new ETERNUS CD10000 S2 includes many enhancements to reduce storage costs and space requirements in the data center. New types of storage nodes can host up to 60 TB of data in a single rack unit, further reducing space requirements. New hard- and software functions and technologies also reduce the cost per TB by a factor of up to ten.(2)
New design storage nodes called 'Flex Node' and 'Density Node' enable higher granularity in adding capacity and performance. Flex Nodes support storage performance-oriented usage scenarios while providing good scalability, while Density Nodes are optimum for storing large amounts of data in a minimum amount of space and at the lowest possible costs per terabyte (as low as between EUR 0.007 to 0.013 per GB per month). Simply by adding system nodes, the ETERNUS CD10000 S2 can cover capacity up to 50 PB and beyond, supporting scenarios of unpredictable data growth.
Since the ETERNUS CD10000 S2 internal system management is based on Ceph software, older hardware nodes can be replaced by fully compatible newer generations without system downtime, therefore extending system lifecycle by 10 to 15 years in comparison with traditional RAID storage systems. This also drastically reduces system migration requirements.
One of the latest contributions by Fujitsu to the Ceph open source community has been an optimized Erasure Coding, providing data protection through redundancy while reducing disk capacity requirements and costs.
A further enhancement to the ETERNUS CD10000 S2 is the support for more disaster resilience options, achieved by either stretching one storage node cluster across two sites, or by implementing two discrete system clusters. Large Hyper Data Centers Making Use of Climaveneta High Efficiency Solutions

Following the latest market trends Wuxi and CCB data centers have chosen Climaveneta
chillers for efficient and reliable cooling.
Data centre capacity is growing with the increasing number of IP connections, traffic
and need for storage, generating large hyper data centers more and more often.
A newly published market study from BSRIA shows that this kind of hyper data centre is
very open to deploying "new" technologies opting for a combination of free cooling, liquid
cooling and chilled-water cooling, thus changing the market for precision air
conditioning.
The largest market is North America, accounting for around 40 per cent of the global
data centre cooling market, followed by China which accounts for just under a third.
Furthermore, in China a massive cloud computing development program planned by the
Government is expected to more than double China's datacenter capacity by 2016, compared

Climaveneta has been appointed as the exclusive supplier to deliver 48 free cooling
chillers, 4 water-cooled heat pumps and 1 air-cooled heat pump for more than 70 MegaWatts
total cooling and heating capacity. A 10 year service contract completes the supply.
At CCB data center free cooling operations start when the external temperature is
15degree(s), substantially extending the energy saving advantages offered by this
technology. The heat rejected by the chillers is recovered by heat pumps, providing free
heating to the 20,000m2 office area next to the data centre, with no CO2 emissions on
site.
In other words, by installing a Climaveneta heat pump or chiller it is possible to
cool the datacenter and to recover the wasted heat to provide the comfort in the close-by
rooms or for domestic hot water production. In this way it is possible to combine perfect
comfort and zero energy waste, improving the building's green certification rating and
obtaining a substantial annual savings.
In this case by adopting air source free cooling chillers the data centre does not
depend on water availability, further increasing infrastructure resiliency. Ensuring zero
water consumption, special unit design, and eliminating the need for glycol in the cooling
