LucidWorks Launches SiLK, a Highly Scalable, Enterprise-Ready Solution for Log Analysis Built Atop Lucene Solr Search
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., April 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- LucidWorks, the company transforming the way people access information, today announced LucidWorks SiLK, a search-driven analytics solution that enables organizations to cost-effectively analyze massive amounts of device, log and other time series data.
Built atop the power of Apache(® )Solr(TM), LucidWorks SiLK is a feature-rich user interface that runs atop LucidWorks Search and includes best-in-class tools, such as LogStash, Kibana and Flume, creating a highly reliable solution. LucidWorks SiLK also features LucidWorks' advanced security and ease of administration. With LucidWorks SiLK, organizations can perform analysis on large log files without investing in an expensive proprietary solution or struggling with inexpensive, but unproven software.
In addition, LucidWorks SiLK offers out-of-the-box monitoring capabilities, pre-fabricated reports, and analytics for log data. The solution includes all of the management and security capabilities available from LucidWorks and can integrate with and augment any existing Solr or LogStash deployment. This enables organizations to continue to grow their deployment of search-backed log analysis to the scale they require.
Log data holds tremendous promise to provide very deep insight across an organization, including IT operations, security analysis, business intelligence, fraud detection and more. To deliver on that promise, however, users need very quick, access and analysis, which becomes increasingly difficult as the amount of log data continues to skyrocket. LucidWorks SiLK now gives organizations the ability to quickly and cost-effectively aggregate, access and analyze their largest big data log files.
"With LucidWorks SiLK organizations no longer have to experiment with rolling their own solution by either cobbling together a series of un-supported open source tools or buying expensive proprietary offerings" said Will Hayes, Chief Product Officer at LucidWorks. "Instead, they can use the proven Lucene/Solr platform along with the tools they are already familiar with to deploy a top-tier solution to analyze their logs, device and other big data."
Key capabilities of LucidWorks SiLK include:
-- Data Enrichment: Fields, tags and other meta-data can be extracted
automatically to provide context and meaning to event data. Searches
resulting in a mix of unstructured events and transactions can be easily
transformed into simple rows and columns for easy ad-hoc analysis.
-- Extensive Collection Capability: Whether data is sitting in log files on
disk, coming across a network, or stored in a Hadoop cluster, LucidWorks
SiLK provides a variety of ways to ingest it. LucidWorks SiLK also
supports the visualization and inspection of non-temporal data including
documents, email, database tables and more.
-- Linear Scale: LucidWorks SiLK runs atop the scale and performance of
Lucene/Solr, one of the most scalable and reliable search engines in the
world. SolrCloud enables linear scale of LucidWorks Search allowing
organizations to utilize commodity, virtualized or cloud resources in a
cost effective manner.
"LucidWorks SiLK is now certified on Cloudera 5," said Tim Stevens, vice president of Business and Corporate Development at Cloudera. "We see strong demand for our platform as businesses increasingly deploy large scale data hubs in their environments. Through LucidWorks, our customers gain the ability to naturally access and interact with their data stored on Hadoop in new ways."

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- OmniVision Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: OVTI), a leading developer of advanced digital imaging solutions, today launched the OV6211, the world's smallest global shutter sensor. Designed for applications such as notebooks, tablets, mobile phones, wearable electronics, gaming devices and security systems, the low-power OV6211 enables a host of functionalities, including gesture recognition, eye tracking, depth and motion detection, as well as biometrics. The ultra-compact OV6211 is the industry's first global shutter sensor to capture 400 x 400 (square) resolution video at 120 frames per second (FPS), making it an ideal solution for a broad range of space-constrained machine and computer vision applications.
"The gesture recognition and touch-less sensing market is poised to grow dramatically. Industry reports are predicting double-digit CAGR from 2013 to 2020, at which point the market is expected to reach $20.04 billion[1]," said Pulin Desai, senior strategic marketing manager at OmniVision. "The OV6211's ultra-compact and low-power design allows it to bring gesture recognition and tracking functions to mobile and wearable devices. The OV6211 can also play a critical role in bringing object and motion detection functionality to advanced security systems. There are truly no other sensors available on the market today that can offer all these functionalities across such a wide range of applications."
The OV6211 features a 3-micron OmniPixel3-GS(TM) global shutter pixel. It is capable of capturing full resolution (400 x 400 pixels) video at 120 FPS, enabling smear-free black and white image capture in both landscape or portrait mode. The sensor features two low-power modes: light sensing mode and ultra-low power mode. In light sensing mode, the OV6211 wakes up from "sleep mode" only when a change in light has been detected. In ultra-low power mode, the sensor reduces resolution and frame rates to conserve additional power. These two features allow the sensor to be used in "always on" mode while consuming very little power.
The 1/10.5-inch OV6211 fits into an ultra-compact 3.2 x 3.2 mm chip-scale package (CSP3). The sensor is currently in volume production.
OmniVision will be hosting a series of private demonstrations of the OV6211 CameraChip sensor during ISC West 2014 in a suite at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas from April 2-4. To schedule a meeting please email omnivision-iscwest@ovt.com.

Buffalo Launches The Industry's First Enterprise-Class NAS With HGST Ultrastar(TM) He(6) Helium-Filled Drives
New TeraStation(TM) 7120r Enterprise 72TB 2U Rackmount NAS Device to Increase Storage System Capacity, Reduce Power Consumption and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
AUSTIN, Texas, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Buffalo Americas, a leading provider of external storage, network attached storage and networking solutions, today announced the availability of the TeraStation(TM) 7120r Enterprise 72 TB 2U Rackmount NAS (TS-2RZH72T12D), the industry's first enterprise-class network attached storage (NAS) model with 6 TB HGST Ultrastar He(6) helium-filled drives. This quad-core, enterprise-class NAS enables IT managers to expand their system storage capacity without adding rack storage space, power circuits or additional storage units, resulting in maximized space utilization and reduced total cost of ownership (TCO).
Large-scale datacenters and enterprise IT service providers are continually required to increase storage space efficiency while lowering costs. Buffalo's latest high-performance NAS offering delivers improved efficiency by utilizing the world's first hermetically sealed helium hard drive intended for massive scale-out environments. Enabled by the Ultrastar He(6) drive, this 2U rack mountable NAS system with 72 TB currently offers the largest capacity in the industry. Buffalo plans to launch a variety of NAS models in various additional capacities with Ultrastar He(6) drives later this year.
"Buffalo has a proven track record of delivering products that utilize the latest technological advancements in the storage and networking sectors," said Brian Verenkoff, director of product management at Buffalo Americas, Inc. "We are excited to embrace HGST's revolutionary Ultrastar He(6 )helium-filled hard drives to offer the industry's largest capacity 2U NAS solution, with the goal of lowering TCO for high-capacity enterprise applications and datacenters."
"Customers around the world continue to look to HGST for highly reliable, innovative enterprise-class storage solutions," said Brendan Collins, vice president of product marketing, HGST. "By incorporating the world's first helium-filled hard drives with an industry-leading 6 TB, Buffalo is delivering a compelling solution that can improve storage density, while reducing power and cooling - all in the same 2U form factor."
TeraStation 7120r Enterprise
The TeraStation 7120r Enterprise NAS offers 72 TB of high performance, highly available storage featuring the powerful Intel Xeon E3-1275 quad-core processor, 8 GB of DDR3 RAM and 12-6 TB enterprise-class Ultrastar He6 hard drives, for exceptional performance. It is VMware® Certified and Citrix® Ready, and support for RAID 0/1/5/6/10/50/51/60/61 provides continuous data protection for business critical data and increased fault tolerance and data availability. TeraStation 7120r Enterprise is packed with business-class features such as Active Directory support, disk quota support, share level replication, quad gigabit Ethernet ports supporting link aggregation up to 4 Gbps, hot-swap hard drives, iSCSI targeting and add-on PCI-Express card support with approved devices.
Reducing Data Center TCO with Helium
IT professionals at high volume data centers and other enterprise storage systems are continuously looking for ways to add capacity while reducing costs. Due to the advanced HelioSeal process, HGST has included additional capacity into the traditional 3.5 inch form factor by replacing the air inside the drive with helium. Helium is much lighter than air and therefore decreases the amount of turbulence caused by the spinning disks within the drive. The Ultrastar He(6 )helium-filled drive also runs 30% quieter than a typical enterprise HDD.
An Ultrastar He(6) helium-filled drive features the following TCO benefits when compared to a typical 3.5 inch air-filled 5 platter 4 TB drive:
-- 50% more capacity at 6 TB
-- 23% lower idle power at 5.3 Watts
-- 49% better Watts/TB
-- 4-5 degrees (C) cooler
-- 50g lighter weight at 640g
Pricing and Availability
All Buffalo TeraStation NAS solutions are backed by a limited three-year warranty including toll-free U.S.-based technical support available 24/7. An optional five-year extended warranty is available for all TeraStation NAS solutions.
-- Currently shipping in Japan, the TeraStation(TM) 7120r Enterprise 72 TB
TS-2RZH72T12D will be available in the U.S. and Canada an estimated MSRP
of $19,999.99.

"More than ever, our customers are relying on our ability to deliver integrated solutions, that are both creative and made-to-order," Mr. Doyle noted. "Ultimately, our goal is to engineer custom solutions, by partnering with customers to achieve results that leverage our experience, high-end products, onsite services and engineering know-how."
Energy continues to be an important and growing sector for Panasonic Enterprise Solutions, especially for the rapidly expanding commercial and industrial renewable energy markets. The new organization plans to continue to expand its capabilities in solar energy projects and offer innovative technological and financial solutions to the energy market.
Recently, Panasonic Eco Solutions and its strategic partner, Coronal Group, established a joint venture with Global Investment Renewable, which facilitates the development, financing, construction and operation of solar photovoltaic facilities. The venture is aimed at providing end-to-end solutions to make renewable energy and public power projects more accessible for municipalities.
Much of Panasonic Enterprise Solutions' immediate attention will be focused on growing opportunities in the sports and entertainment sector, particularly in the digital signage market, which is expected to be worth nearly $15 billion by 2020. Last month, Panasonic earned acclaim within sports and entertainment circles for its construction of "Big Hoss TV," the world's largest high-definition LED video board that was custom-built at Texas Motor Speedway's racetrack. The video board uses technology exceeding high-definition resolution (3,328 horizontal x 1,440 vertical), has an active display area of 20,633 square feet and is capable of operating 281 trillion different colors.
Today stadium operators and facility managers are searching for creative video solutions to grow revenues and improve the fan experience by better connecting spectators with the action on the field. Panasonic Enterprise Solutions is best positioned to provide the answers with the latest technologies, designed to make it easier to make those connections.
"Our work with Texas Motor Speedway highlights how some of our key strengths - managing large-scale enterprise projects, engineering, creating engaging fan experiences and providing onsite support - allow us to showcase our capabilities," said Mr. Doyle. "We want Panasonic to be seen as the gold standard in providing quality solutions and unparalleled service and support."

New Lingua.ly Mobile App Turns Real World Environment Into Engaging Language Learning Opportunity
BALA CYNWYD, Pennsylvania, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Mobile App Turns Everyday Content Into Fun and Easy Language Education
Experience
Lingua.ly [http://lingua.ly ], a cross-platform solution that draws on a user's
environment and interests to create a personalized language learning experience, announced
today the launch of its free Android app. The new app teaches beginner through advanced
learners by turning everyday content into fun and easy language practice, supporting the
educational philosophy that language is learnt best via immersion rather than through
traditional textbooks and lesson plans.
As users read foreign content on their mobile devices and highlight unknown words,
Lingua.ly leverages a smart mobile dictionary to provide word translation. The app then
uses those words to provide personalized games and flashcards with audio, contextual and
visual cues to help learners commit the unknown words to memory - a fun and seamless way
to learn a language. This is the first time that an app offers a mobile dictionary that is
integrated with a language learning system, benefitting classroom-based students and
language app enthusiasts alike. The mobile dictionary enables users to search for and
learn words in over 20 different languages.
"We're part of a new paradigm with mobile technology poised to change the landscape of
language learning," said Dr. Jan Ihmels, Chief Executive Officer of Lingua.ly. "People
learn better when they're engaged - supplementing foreign language courses with real world
content enriches the experience making language more memorable."
Lingua.ly has an existing multi-national user base for its browser extension solution
on Google Chrome and is synergized with the mobile app - so if users want to reference a
word previously looked up on the browser extension they can via the mobile app. The
technology that drives both the browser extension and new mobile app learns the interests
and skill level of users through their word bank and online activity. It is then able to
recognize which reading material is a match and serve personalized, current, web-based
content in the form of articles, blog posts, short-stories, and more - making Lingua.ly's
solution the perfect bootstrap for the multitude of learners stranded on the "intermediate
plateau." The personalized content can be served in the following languages: English,
French, Spanish, Arabic and Hebrew.
In addition, Lingua.ly will soon be releasing new features to the mobile app which
support serving social media content to users so they can learn a language from Facebook
and Twitter. These features are currently available on the browser extension.
"Successful companies understand the omni-channel opportunity to distribute learning
content through the most asked-for media - smartphones, the cloud, chats, tweets, Google
Hangouts, Facebook video calling-anywhere a language learner might choose to try out his
or her latest expression in Arabic or Spanish," adds independent language industry
research firm Common Sense Advisory. "This in itself has a greater chance of success for
language instruction companies who have the opportunity to appeal to a broader mass."
The Lingua.ly app is currently available for free in the Google Play
[http://bit.ly/1s04YuK ] store in the following languages: English, Chinese, Hebrew,
German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Russian.
"Lingua.ly [http://lingua.ly ] is an ingenious technology that helps you learn
languages and build vocabulary in the wild as you browse the web on your mobile device,"
says Lera Boroditsky, Associate Professor of Cognitive Science at the University of
California San Diego. "The content served to foreign language learners is engaging,
relevant and geared exactly for their skill level and can grow with the student as their
skills progress."
About Lingua.ly

Industrial Toys Raises $5M Series A Funding From Accel Partners
Founder of Bungie Studios Developing for the "Mobile Core" Gaming Experience
PASADENA, Calif., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Industrial Toys, a next-generation mobile games developer, announced today a new $5m Series A round of funding led by Accel Partners, early investors in Rovio and Supercell. Industrial Toys is founded by Alex Seropian, founder of Bungie Studios (the team behind the hit Halo franchise). As part of the financing, the company is also announcing the launch of its first title, Midnight Star, into beta this summer.
Industrial Toys takes advantage of hardware and platform advancements behind mobile devices to deliver immersive, high-production value content for today's core gamer.
"Today's tablets are just as good, if not better gaming platforms than the consoles we built games for in our past. However, there isn't a ton of great content for people like us. We want to change that by building immersive games for the mobile and tablet-enabled core gamer," said Alex Seropian, CEO Industrial Toys.
"Developing 'core' content for tablet isn't about porting over something from the Xbox or Playstation. It's about understanding touch and gesture-based controls and how users interact with their device. We want to build an experience that spans multiple engagement points throughout the day," added Alex. "Since these devices are always with you, providing different levels of involvement, we're designing our games to do the same."
Mobile games are the fastest-growing segment of the gaming market with revenue set to nearly double from $13.2 billion in 2013 to $22 billion in 2015, according to Gartner, Inc. The global games market is estimated to be north of $60 billion, with core gamers being the most enthusiastic spenders.
The company had been angel-funded as it worked on its first title. The round represents its first institutional financing, and comes from a firm with long history in the games space. Accel Partners had been early investors in Supercell, Rovio (Angry Birds), Playfish, Gameforge, Mind Candy and many others.
"Accel has been investing in gaming businesses for many years. As we've seen, each new platform shift yields a crop of large, independent gaming companies. The shift to mobile and tablets is no different, but has largely targeted the casual or mid-core gamer. The opportunity to 'activate' core gamers is even bigger -- the content just hasn't been there," said Vas Natarajan of Accel Partners. "Alex and team are developing for the gamers who've largely been underserved in this push to mobile."
"Real gamers want to compete, explore and become part of a community. We need a storyline we can sink our teeth into and quality that mirrors what we'd expect from a PC and the console - but with gameplay design specific to next-gen devices," added Tim Harris, President of the company.
Early previews of the gameplay have received great response from key gaming press including IGN, Polygon and Pocket Gamer.
About Industrial Toys
Industrial Toys is an independent studio designing mobile games for core gamers. The company is focused on creating experiences specifically designed for the platforms our games are on, and they are going deep on narrative, competition and community. The first title, Midnight Star, is a reimagining of the sci-fi shooter for mobile. Visit midnightstargame.com for all of the latest game updates as well as more details on Midnight Rises, the interactive graphic novel app from author John Scalzi and artist Mike Choi. CAVIUM OCTEON III and Thunder ARMv8 64-bit System on a Chip (SoC) Processors:
6WIND and Cavium will deliver joint technology to power leading edge multicore SoC packet processors by providing 6WINDGate on Cavium SoC platforms to enable complete NFV and SDN solutions. Cavium's optimized multicore processors integrate hardware accelerators for application processing and virtualization functionality, resulting in high throughput line rates for virtualized applications.
CAVIUM NITROX Security Processors:
6WINDGate integrates NITROX security adaptors to be used as a cryptography offload and acceleration option with DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit) software, providing a ready to use fast path IPsec networking stack for x86 servers without the need to modify existing Linux applications.
"We are proud to have worked with Cavium for many years to continue to deliver high performance network applications for leading OEMs worldwide," said Vincent Jardin, CTO for 6WIND. "By enabling Cavium's customers to share their existing data plane infrastructure across multiple platforms with common software we are accelerating the open networking transformation towards NFV and SDN."
"The extended Cavium and 6WIND partnership will enable our joint customers to take further advantage of their Cavium hardware and bring new designs for SDN and NFV to market quickly," said Raghib Hussain, Corporate VP/GM & CTO for Cavium. "Many existing applications utilize Cavium optimized multicore processors. This partnership will expand the market and deployment models for Cavium SoCs across both standalone and offload/acceleration scenarios while delivering high performance and a seamless path to application virtualization."
Performance and Latency Matter with the Transition to NFV and SDN
Organizations are developing the next generation of their application infrastructure toward NFV and SDN by leveraging Linux with standard platform ecosystems. With this evolution, there remain performance challenges to ensure that the new virtualized platforms can obtain the same performance as the previous dedicated, physical platforms.
6WIND and Cavium have extensive experience delivering high performance applications to joint customers. For example with 6WIND's existing PMD supporting Intel® DPDK with Cavium NITROX security processors, customers can obtain 20 Gbps IPsec performance per NITROX III processor, and multiple NITROX III processors can be stacked and leveraged by 6WINDGate's fast path for IPsec.
6WINDGate enables a single software platform across Cavium and x86 technology, allowing customers to achieve the required high performance in physical and virtual environments. This allows customers to share a common software architecture when both architectures include Cavium acceleration engines.

Xena Networks Expands Range of Multi-speed Gigabit Ethernet Test Modules
COPENHAGEN, Denmark, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
High density 40/10G test modules and 1G and 10G "combi-card" bolster Xena's
price-performance offerings.
Xena Networks, the global leader in Gigabit Ethernet Test Equipment Price Performance,
announces the immediate availability of four new test modules spanning 40G, 10G and 1G
testing and suitable for inclusion in both the 4U XenaBay and 1U XenaCompact test chassis.
"Xena's new test modules address the growing demand for high-density 40 and 10G
testing using the latest technology," explains Jacob Nielsen, CEO at Xena Networks. "We
also see an opportunity for customers who need to test both 1G and 10G in the smallest
possible central office rack space, but who want to do it as cost-effectively as
possible."
"Flexibility was a key factor in designing the new test modules, especially as it is
so closely tied to price-performance. All three of these cards let customers do more
Gigabit Ethernet testing by including the flexibility to test different speeds as needed."
M12QSFP10 - Industry-leading high density 10G test module
For ultra-high-density 10G testing, Xena now offers the M12QSFP10 test module which
boasts an impressive 12 ports, in the QSFP form factor and enabled via breakout cables.
"Installed in our popular 1U XenaCompact, this will make it the industry's smallest
high-density 10G test unit on the market," points out Jacob Nielsen. "For customers using
it in our XenaBay chassis it will mean being able to aggregate 144 10G ports in a 4U rack
unit which will also be an industry-first."
M6RJ45+ - tri-speed (10/1G and 100Mb) test module over copper
The M6RJ45+ is a tri-speed test module supporting testing at 10G, 1G, and 100Mbps over
10GBase-T copper. The first version has 6 ports and it will soon be followed by a 2-port
variant. This will be a cost-effective entry-level model where the other four ports can be
enabled via a paid software upgrade.
"The M6RJ45+ gives customers a 10Gbase-T tri-speed (auto-negotiation) that offers
excellent bit error rate performance over Cat6a cable lengths of 300 feet (100m) using the
latest PHY technologies," says Jacob Nielsen.
M2QSFP+ - Dual speed (40/10G) test module
The M2QSFP+ features two 40G test ports that can be software configured to provide
eight 10G test ports for both 850 nm (iSR4) and 1310 nm (iSM4) optical wavelengths via
breakout cables, and is interoperable with 10GBASE-SR/LR compliant products.
"With this dual-speed 40G and 10G test module, we expand our 40G offering for data
centers and enterprises. The M2QSFP+ combines low-cost optics and the QSFP form factor
making it an attractive option for many of our customers," explains Jacob Nielsen.
Installing twelve of M2QSFP+modules in the 4U XenaBay chassis will give customers 24
40G ports or 94 10G ports, or any mix of these two port speeds.
M2SFP+4SFP - Mixed speed (1G and 10G) test module delivers testing convenience.
The new M2SFP+4SFP lets customers simultaneously test both 1G and 10G by offering two
10G ports and four 1G test ports. It is aimed at central office facilities and for use in
the field for a variety of testing applications, including service activation for
businesses, and mobile backhaul testing.
"We anticipate this test module will be popular with customers requiring a robust test
platform with both 1G and 10G test ports in the smallest possible rack space," predicts
Jacob Nielsen. "For this reason, the test module will only be available for the
XenaCompact chassis."
New test modules match Xena's award-winning business model
Like all the previous Xena products, the new test modules are competitively priced,
and are supplied complete with a comprehensive free packet generator analyzer software
suite that includes a scripting capability, RFC2544, RFC2889, RFC 3918, and Y.1564 test
suites as well as free technical support for the product lifetime.
About Xena Networks
Xena develops low-cost, easy-to-use, and flexible gigabit Ethernet test solutions.
Their focus has been Layer 2- 3 testing - from 1G right through to 100G, in a variety of
form factors - and in 2014 they will be releasing Layer 4-7 solutions. In 2013 Xena won

SINGAPORE, April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RS Components( http://www.rs-components.com/index.html ) (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc( http://www.electrocomponents.com ) (LSE:ECM), the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products, has added two wireless connectivity options to its growing portfolio of products based on the Raspberry Pi( http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/generalDisplay.html?id=raspberrypi ) computer. The new modules are built using Wi-Fi and low power radio technology respectively and deliver wireless interface capability for applications requiring low cost, low power, small form factor solutions, such as mobile devices.
The first module, a wireless nano USB adapter from Edimax( http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/p/wireless-adapters/7603621 ), provides high-speed Wi-Fi functionality compliant with the IEEE802.11b/g/n wireless protocol via a tiny adapter that plugs into the USB port on the Raspberry Pi. The adapter supports transmission rates of up to 150Mbps, which is ideal for large data transfer and three times faster than standard 11g connections. The smart adapter adjusts the transmission output according to the distance and CPU offload to achieve a reduction in power consumption of between 20% and 50% when the wireless function is idle. It can be configured using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) to provide a simple, secure wireless network.
The second module, Connect2Pi from LPRS( http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/p/remote-control-base-modules/7839662 ), also features a USB wireless device offering 'plug-and-play' connection to the Raspberry Pi, but instead uses low power RF transceiver technology to provide a bi-directional link to any device supporting serial communications, for example another Raspberry Pi. Frequency, bandwidth, power output and data rates can be configured to allow multiple devices to communicate free from interference from each other and any other RF devices. The RF technology employed enables significantly greater range (up to 200m depending on the terrain) and lower power consumption than other wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. The host device can send and receive up to 180 Bytes of data per packet to other hosts within range, making it particularly useful for 'sense and control' applications. 433MHz and 868MHz versions are available and an integral SMA antenna is included. A kit variant( http://singapore.rs-online.com/web/p/remote-control-base-modules/7839662 ) of this product is also available, which contains dual rather than a single transceiver.
All three Raspberry Pi wireless products are available to purchase from RS stock for same-day despatch.

"Apple employees have secretly attended past JailbreakCon events to consider innovative ideas for potential improvements to iOS itself, which are often inspired by the work of developers who focus on extending and modifying the iOS experience, something that developers can only experiment with when writing software for jailbroken devices," says Craig Fox, the founder of JailbreakCon.
JailbreakCon will be on Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, 2014, at the South San Francisco Conference Center, 255 South Airport Boulevard, South San Francisco, CA. Tickets are $30 for adults and $10 for people under 18, and they include lunch for both days. Sponsors have generously subsidized the event in order to allow for affordable tickets prices, especially for teens.
Tickets to the event can be purchased Via Cydia here:
Epson's Top Five Things to Know about High-Definition Widescreen WXGA Projectors
LONG BEACH, Calif., March 31, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --In an age of widescreen laptops and videos being used for presentations, Epson provides a suite of projectors with high-definition widescreen WXGA resolution, designed to deliver larger-than-life images that increase the viewing area with sharper, more detailed image quality. Epson's high-definition widescreen WXGA projectors offer a native screen resolution of 1280 x 800, making them appropriate for both business and classroom use.
"Our line of high-definition widescreen WXGA projectors - designed for conference rooms, classrooms and large venues - offer better, higher resolutions compared to SVGA and XGA projectors and support the latest widescreen laptop resolutions, providing a sharper and bigger viewing experience, whether presenting or watching," said Kristi Lanzit, product manager, Epson America, Inc. "Over 1 million pixels are used to create a high-definition widescreen aspect ratio on a WXGA projector - more than twice as many pixels as an SVGA projector -which means much better image detail and clarity as intended by the latest widescreen laptops."
Following are Epson's top five things to consider when purchasing a projector and why high-definition widescreen WXGA solutions are ideal:
1. Presentations: Popular presenting solutions such as Microsoft(®)
PowerPoint(®), Apple(®) Keynote(®) and Prezi((TM)) offer widescreen
templates which allow for more content on the screen, providing added
flexibility to display more valuable information in meetings,
presentations and school lessons.
2. Laptops: Leverage the advanced quality of HD laptops to produce a higher
resolution projected image with a high-definition widescreen WXGA
projector.
3. Content Support: Be prepared to deliver HD content for videos, movies and
anything your presentation may need to include.
4. Pixels: High-definition widescreen WXGA resolution delivers higher image
quality than lower resolution projectors because it can display more
pixels, increasing the detail of the viewing area without sacrificing
picture quality.
5. Future Proofing: Stepping up to the purchase of a high-definition
widescreen WXGA projector enables compatibility with future widescreen
devices and content.
About Epson Widescreen Projectors
Epson(®) 3LCD projectors deliver three times brighter colors than leading competitive projectors(1). Epson offers WXGA projector solutions for small businesses, including the EX7220 and VS335W; the K-12 classroom, including the PowerLite(®) 955W and interactive BrightLink(®) 595Wi; corporate meetings, including the PowerLite 1940W and BrightLink Pro 1410Wi; and large venues, including the PowerLite Pro G6050W and PowerLite Pro Z8350WNL.
Color Brightness Specification and Projector Performance
The new color brightness specification (measuring red, green and blue) published by the Society of Information Display (SID) allows consumers to compare projector color performance without conducting a side-by-side shootout. With today's high-definition content, teachers and students can display content with higher quality in brighter environments. For a truly impressive image, projectors need to offer both high color brightness and high white brightness. High color brightness is important for larger screen sizes and provides flexibility for a variety of screen materials. Without sufficient color brightness, images may be muddy, soft and lose detail, even in a dark room. For more information, visit http://www.colorlightoutput.com.
