TORONTO, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Comwave today launched ePhone for Android smartphones and tablets which are part of a string of Comwave Apps intended to take a bite of Skype's market share. ePhone is different though, in that the service includes a real telephone number that allows you to receive an incoming call from any telephone around the world. "Having a Toronto or New York phone number on your cell phone or laptop computer is powerful especially when you travel and want to get around those annoying roaming fees," Said Yuval Barzakay, President. ePhone also comes with tremendous cost savings for users because it includes free calling to 57 countries for the entire year while others such as Skype charge for every minute. The App is free to try on Android Play (formally Android Market) and costs only $30 per year after the trial.
ePhone bridges the gap between smartphones users, computers, and landline phone users by allowing all of them to communicate for free regardless if they have ePhone or not. "While other Apps seem to put walled gardens that confine you to the App, ePhone allows you to communicate for free to non ePhone users as well. Now, someone can be in New York with their traditional cell phone and call an Android ePhone user across the globe in India and allow another computer ePhone user to join in," added Mr. Barzakay.
ePhone for the iPhone, iPod & iPad is slated for release in the coming weeks while Android, Blackberry Playbook, Mac & PC are available now.

Correction Service Provides Positioning Technology via Satellite Communications
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that its high-accuracy, satellite-delivered CenterPoint(TM) RTX(TM) correction service is now available for farmers in Latin America.
Trimble CenterPoint RTX can deliver better than 3.8 centimeter (1.5 inch) accuracies in real time without the use of traditional reference station RTK infrastructure. Initially, the CenterPoint RTX satellite-delivered correction service covered approximately a 1.8 billion-acre swath of central North America, extending from Canada into northern Mexico. The new coverage area has been expanded to include all of Mexico, Central America and South America, where farmers can use the GNSS correction service for cultivating, planting, pest and nutrient management, harvesting and water management.
"The expanded coverage of Trimble's satellite-delivered CenterPoint RTX service into Latin America further extends our broad portfolio of correction services, which also includes OmniSTAR VBS, HP, XP and G2; Trimble CenterPoint VRS; and the CenterPoint RTX service delivered via cellular communications," said Patricia Boothe, general manager of Trimble's Positioning Services Division. "By offering a suite of correction technologies and services, we can satisfy a variety of accuracy, delivery and budget requirements."
"We're committed to expanding the services and software applications that we provide to the global farming community. Increasing the coverage area for high-accuracy GNSS correction services for Trimble's agriculture customers around the world is an example," said Erik Arvesen, vice president of Trimble's Agriculture Division. "In 2011, we offered real-time, satellite-delivered corrections over a central swath of North America where it was well received. Now, farmers in Latin America can also benefit from CenterPoint RTX services to perform precision agriculture operations. Our customers want a broad range of solutions and with CenterPoint RTX, we're delivering those options."

Sennheiser Intensifies Customer and Brand Protection
WEDEMARK, Germany, June 20, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
Audio specialist proposes new measures to counteract product piracy
As a premium manufacturer of microphones, headphones and wireless transmission
systems, Sennheiser is intensifying its global commitment to fighting product piracy. The
clear focus of all measures is the protection of both customer and brand. "Customers are
being deceived in a criminal way with counterfeit products. With the clear intent to
defraud low grade products are being sold as 'branded' products", explains Volker Bartels,
Speaker of the Executive Management Board. Background: The sound quality of the
counterfeit versions falls far short of the strict quality standards of genuine Sennheiser
products. Furthermore, because these fake products do not undergo any of the stringent
quality checks of the genuine articles, damage to the user's hearing may potentially be an
issue.
Safety labelling makes authentication easier
Sennheiser protects its customers from plagiarism with latest technologies which offer
maximum protection against counterfeiting and enable retailers and customers to verify
authenticity. In future, Sennheiser product-packaging and the products themselves will be
protected with tesa scribos(R) PrioSpots. These special labels offer maximum protection
against counterfeiting by a combination of concealed and visible security features. The
PrioSpots on Sennheiser packaging and products are linked to the manufacturer's overall
brand security concept and use the connect & check system. This enables users, retailers
or customs investigators to check the authenticity of a product quickly by using an
internet-enabled smartphone or a notebook. The simple process involves reading the QR code
printed on the packaging and transmitting the data via a secure internet connection to
confirm the product's authenticity. "The investment in a system which provides
counterfeit-proof identification of our products results in effective protection for our
customers and for retailers", says Volker Bartels.
Focused action against illegal online trading
The global market for counterfeit electronic products is estimated to be worth 74
billion Euro* per year. Without proactive measures to fight criminal dealer activity, the
market will continue to grow. In order to effectively stem the trade of counterfeit goods
on the internet, Sennheiser and OpSec Security have been working together in Europe since
early 2012. On Sennheiser's behalf the experts from OpSec search relevant internet portals
for potentially suspicious products. This collaboration has been highly successful so far,
and it is now due to be deployed worldwide. "Thanks to online screening we have been able
to significantly reduce the volume of illegal supplies in Europe. We therefore want to use
this highly effective tool in other parts of the world now", says Volker Bartels.
Sennheiser is particularly concerned about the illegal trade in Asia. With the help of
online screening, the most active Asian B2B platforms are continually scanned so any
illegal online auctions taking place, can be systematically stopped. "We are concentrating
especially on the Asian illegal trade as a lot of counterfeits originate from there. This
way, we can stop these products from reaching Europe, the USA or other parts of the world
in the first place."
Legal penalties for brand pirates
Using its own research as well as the information obtained from OpSec, Sennheiser has
provided its support to international customs and investigation authorities. Therefore it
is not only Sennheiser who stop these suppliers and dealers of counterfeit goods; they
also potentially face prosecution for their activities. "Each year Sennheiser invests
significantly into research and development in order to provide our customers with the
best technology and the best possible sound", explains Volker Bartels. "The harm done to
our customers and our markets by product piracy is completely unacceptable to us. We will
therefore use everything at our disposal to fight it." In order to be on the safe side the
company recommends that any customers looking to buy Sennheiser products, purchase only
from retailers within the authorised dealer network.

Spansion Advances Voice-Enabled Electronics with New Human Machine Interface Coprocessor
Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor Leverages Nuance's Voice Technology to Improve Performance of Voice Applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Spansion Inc. (NYSE: CODE), a leading innovator in Flash memory solutions for embedded markets, today unveiled the Spansion® Acoustic Coprocessor, the industry's first human machine interface (HMI) coprocessor that enables voice-controlled system interfaces. Leveraging Nuance Communications' (NASDAQ: NUAN) voice technology, the new product is ideal for voice recognition systems in automotive, gaming and consumer electronics, significantly improving response time and accuracy over conventional voice interfaces by supporting larger acoustic databases. Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor comprises custom-designed logic and high-speed memory to accelerate and optimize voice-enabled human machine interfaces, while offloading the acoustic processing workload from a conventional CPU.
As electronics become increasingly intelligent and interactive, human interfaces such as voice, image and gesture are emerging to meet the growing consumer demand for faster, more engaging access to information. To date, user interfaces have relied on generic hardware and software. Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor is the first application-specific approach that integrates custom-designed logic and hardware with Nuance's VoCon® software engine, and provides a dedicated resource for natural user interfaces such as voice.
"Spansion is integrating Nuance's technology in a unique way to give automotive manufacturers an especially powerful platform," said Michael Thompson, executive vice president and general manager of the Nuance Mobile Division. "Specialized coprocessors can make voice interactions exceptionally fast, more natural, and even more accurate."
"Advances in voice recognition that take us closer to Natural Language Understanding are critical for the automotive market," said Chris Schreiner, director of Automotive Consumer Insights for Strategy Analytics. "More and more automakers are incorporating voice recognition interfaces into vehicles to manage both mobile connectivity as well as aid driver safety. Improvements in accuracy and latency, such as those gained through innovations like the Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor, can provide big benefits to the consumer and change the way we interact with our vehicles."
Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor leverages Spansion's proven technology and leadership in enabling instant-on response, high reliability and performance across a range of embedded applications. Benchmark results demonstrate that with the Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor, system response improves by 50 percent over typical systems using an application processor alone. The load on the application processor lowers by up to 50 percent, freeing it for other tasks. In addition, the Spansion Acoustic Coprocessor is able to support larger databases with multi-lingual, gender and tonal sounds, which in turn improves accuracy and advances natural language understanding.
Michael Palma, IDC senior research analyst, Semiconductors added, "In today's computing devices, the CPU handles everything from high-speed Internet access and HD video to 3D navigation and voice recognition, creating a bottleneck of both processing power and memory bandwidth. Using an application-specific coprocessor to handle acoustic scoring can dramatically improve system responsiveness and latency of voice recognition systems while giving the CPU more capacity to focus on other resource-intensive applications, enabling a better user experience across the board."
Spansion's first implementation is in the automotive market where voice is providing a safer, smarter way to stay connected behind the wheel, minimizing visual-manual distractions posed by handheld devices. The Spansion demo platform, which integrates Spansion's technology and Nuance voice recognition software, is currently being evaluated by major automotive manufacturers, with design samples available in the third quarter of this year.
"As human and machine interaction proliferates, the need for a more natural user interface is emerging with voice taking the lead," said Ali Pourkeramati, senior vice president of strategic alliances and business development at Spansion. "Our new acoustic coprocessor product reinforces our strategy to deliver value-add systems capabilities that will drive differentiation for our customers' products and inspire widespread adoption of connected, intelligent devices. Leveraging our automotive and embedded memory leadership, we have architected a new system platform that can quickly read and analyze data and take the user experience to a new level."
Spansion (NYSE: CODE) is a leading provider of the Flash memory technology at the heart of the world's electronics systems, powering everything from the routers that run the internet to the highly interactive and immersive consumer and automotive electronics that are enriching people's daily lives. Spansion's broad and differentiated Flash memory product portfolio, award-winning MirrorBit charge-trapping technology, and industry leading service and support are enabling customers to achieve greater efficiency and success in their target markets. Anritsu Company Introduces Industry-first Noise Figure Measurement Capability for VectorStar® Vector Network Analyzers
- VectorStar Provides Designers, Modelers, and Manufacturers of RF/Microwave Amplifiers with the Only VNA Platform Capable of Measuring Noise Figure from 70 kHz to 125 GHz -
MONTREAL, June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Anritsu Company (IMS booth #807) introduces noise figure measurement capability for its VectorStar MS4640A and ME7838A Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs) to provide designers, modelers, and manufacturers of RF/microwave amplifiers with an unprecedented level of measurement capability. Option MS4640A-041 equips VectorStar to be the only VNA family with 70 kHz to 125 GHz noise figure measurement, enabled in part by a unique receiver optimized for measurements from 30 GHz to 125 GHz. With this introduction, Anritsu continues to display its VNA and millimeter-wave (mm-wave) technology leadership.
Noise figure measurements enable test engineers to determine potential degradation of signal-to-noise ratio from system components in applications including radar, wireless communications, and digital communications. These engineers often have to balance the conflicting demands of designing higher performance requirements with less budget in shorter times. VectorStar offers the unique blend of technical leadership, high performance, ease of use and flexibility.
The receiver used to perform the industry-first VNA-based noise figure measurements at 125 GHz incorporates a unique design focusing on improved noise performance and reduced sensitivity-to-source impedance. The result is a robust capability to make high-quality microwave and mm-wave noise figure measurements on a wide variety of active devices.
For less experienced test engineers, configuring a noise figure test setup can be particularly challenging. It is often necessary to add pre-amplification and filtering in front of the measurement receiver to ensure sufficient sensitivity to make a quality measurement. If too little amplification is used, there may be excessive jitter from the instrument A/D converter. If too much power or amplification is applied, compression can impact the measurements.
These two constraints form the effective noise figure measurement range and can limit the flexibility a user has in choosing pre-amps and filters. The MS4640A-041 option takes advantage of the high-performance VectorStar architecture to provide a wider noise figure measurement range and greater configuration flexibility. In addition, Anritsu enables the use of a simple, low-cost termination, rather than a specialized noise source, as part of the cold source noise figure measurement method. These advantages result in an easier to use, more flexible test system.
Noise figure measurement capability continues to add to the VectorStar toolbox for active device test. The VectorStar series already includes features like a unique gain compression capability where a user can display gain compression at up to 401 frequencies to characterize performance over a DUT's operating bandwidth in one step. If there is a need to perform active device testing at the wafer level, the VectorStar platform can utilize active and passive tuning of source and load impedances to help account for both fundamental and harmonic content ensuring optimum DUT performance during test.
The MS4640A-041 option for noise figure measurement capability is priced at $15,000 and is available in approximately 8 weeks ARO. The 125 GHz receiver is model SM6609 priced at $30,250 and available in approximately 16 weeks ARO.

HoneyDress.com Releases Newest Line of Custom Dresses in Time for Summer
International custom dress retailer HoneyDress.com announces the release of their latest line of wedding gowns, occasion wear and custom made dresses just in time for summer.
The company CEO also unveils secrets for women trying to select the perfect dress.
PISCATAWAY, N.J., June 19, 2012 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- International occasion wear retailer HoneyDress.com celebrates its latest line of custom and special event dresses by revealing secrets about choosing the perfect dress. Company CEO Simon Chan says the secret lies in choosing a dress that highlights a woman's best features.
"The best-dressed woman is the one who is comfortable in her dress," Chan says. "There are countless styles available, so you just have to ask yourself what makes you feel sexy and go from there. There are no real rules in fashion today."
Chan has these tips for women trying to select the best dress, whether it's a wedding dress, prom dress, cocktail dress or some other kind of special event outfit:
-- Classic A-line dresses aren't just for weddings anymore! A-line dresses
are great for almost any body shape, especially women who are
pear-shaped.
-- The rules for dress styles according to occasion are all but being
broken right now. Any dress can be right for any occasion as long as the
fabric is suitable for the event.
-- Busty women can accent their features with a scooped neckline, which
draws attention to the face without revealing too much. Women trying to
avert attention away from their bust should also avoid bodice fabric
with a high sheen because it can draw attention to the very feature they
are trying to downplay.
-- Curvy and plus-sized women should look for an empire gown, which makes
the most of curves without adding pounds. Avoid pleats and loose fabric.
-- Apple-shaped women should focus on V-necks that gather right at the
thinnest part of the waist and flair out gradually while highlighting
all their thinnest areas.
-- Simple silhouettes are perfect for tall women with a lower waist-line.
Avoid dresses with too many frills and opt for classic elegance instead.
-- Straight-lined women without a lot of curves will want a dress that
creates curves in places where they don't have them. A ball gown that
emphasizes a tiny waist and a sheath dress that flares out at the bottom
are often good choices.
-- Petite women will want a high waist-line to make their legs appear
longer and small details on the bodice to draw attention upward. Sheath
or trumpet dresses are good options.
-- Women with small busts will want extra fabric or a ruched design on the
bodice to help create curves where there aren't any.
New shoppers at HoneyDress.com will receive a $10 off coupon. The retailer is also offering up to 70 per cent off on wedding dresses, special occasion dresses (such as homecoming dresses, prom dresses, quinceanera dresses) and additional coupons for anyone who "likes" them on Facebook.

"Excitement has been building, not only for the new multiplayer action The Last Laugh brings, but for the return of the all-star voice actor cast in DCUO," said Jens Andersen, creative director, DC Universe Online. "We were privileged to work with such a talented voiceover cast when we first launched and are happy to have them return to their iconic roles."
The Last Laugh includes an all-new weapon, hours of multiplayer gameplay in the Safe Houses and Headquarters, and new Legends PvP characters:
-- The Shield - Players can use this vicious new weapon to bash their
opponents, or hurl it to take them down from a distance.
-- Safe House Battles - No one is safe now that heroes and villains can
invade each other's Safe Houses in these four on four battles.
-- Graviton Technology Recovery - Players will be tasked with
retrieving cutting-edge technology from the hero and villain safe
houses. It's a mad dash to grab the most graviton singularity
capsules!
-- The Rescue - Heroes must rescue hostages, while Villains will be
freeing arrested criminals from opposing Safe Houses.
-- Bomb Disposal - Stockpiles of explosives have been remotely armed by
a mischievous third party! Players must gain control of the Bomb
Squad's mech and either neutralize the bombs or use them for
dastardly purposes!
-- Headquarter Battles - In this two-part crusade, 16 players - eight
heroes and eight villains - will face off for the ultimate player
reward. At the request of Superman, heroes must take over the Hall of
Doom, while villains, egged on by The Joker, will breach the Watchtower
in order to create chaos.
-- Legends Characters - The Last Laugh introduces the first Kryptonian and
Light-powered characters to Legends for multiplayer combat. Players now
have access to Green Lanterns John Stewart and Kilowog, Sinestro Corp
members Amon Sur and Arkilo, and Kryptonians Power Girl, Ursa and
Bizarro.
