Lomark Officially Releases DSP+ Platform, Overturning Traditional Marketing Modes
SHENZHEN, China, Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Lomark, one of China's leading mobile demand-side platform (DSP) enterprises, has officially released DSP+, overturning the service mode of existing DSP platforms. The DSP+ platform builds an integrated marketing service mode which is advertiser-centric and integrates 'local advertising service + DSP + DMP.' It is the first service-oriented mobile DSP in China.
Currently, China's mobile advertising industry is still growing rapidly, and the mobile advertising market is experiencing fierce competition. Studies have shown that China's programmatic buying market has consistently maintained a growth rate of over 120% since 2012, and will enter an outbreak period in the next three years.
Although the development of mobile advertising is promising, programmatic buying still faces many challenges. For example, in a disorderly environment of brand communication, how can a quality communication environment be ensured? How can the precise reach of a target user group be realized? And how will it be possible to break through the technical bottleneck and improve ROI effectively?
In order to solve these three problems, the new DSP+ platform released by Lomark fully upgrades the mobile DSP product mode, which changes the value of product-centric to customer-centric, and breaks the limitation of product functions, so as to provide strong support for the full-blown outbreak of the programmatic buying of the mobile market.
The construction of Lomark's DSP+ platform adheres to the user-centered principle, and starts from the perspective of advertisers in platform construction, technology research and development, function setting, visual optimization and even the tone and style of the interface. The platform supports the "dual channel" mode of RTB+PPB programmatic buying, and strives to present an integrated service platform which is simple, flexible and can bring about efficient communication value for advertisers, as well as avoid the waste of resources resulting from complex media buying.
Lomark's DSP+ platform focuses on the mobile DSP and is equipped with function modules such as local data analysis, creative design, effect evaluation and customer management. It combines with the local service mode to provide advertisers with a different concept for a one-stop mobile marketing service.
The release of Lomark's DSP+ platform strives to realize a leap-forward in development, and seeks for a good opportunity to expand to overseas markets on the base of working on the local programming.
Microchip Doubles Flash Memory and Adds New Security Options in Latest Family of eXtreme Low Power PIC® Microcontrollers
PIC24F "GB4" MCUs Protect Embedded Data in Broad Range of Low-Power Applications
CHANDLER, Ariz., Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and Flash-IP solutions, today announced the expansion of its eXtreme Low Power (XLP) PIC(®) microcontroller (MCU) portfolio. Features of the new PIC24F "GB4" family include an integrated hardware crypto engine with both OTP and Key RAM options for secure key storage, up to 256 KB of Flash memory and a direct drive for segmented LCD displays, in 64-, 100- or 121-pin packages. Dual-partition Flash with Live Update capability allows the devices to hold two independent software applications, and permits the simultaneous programming of one partition while executing application code from the other. These advanced features make the PIC24F "GB4" family ideal for designers of industrial, computer, medical/fitness and portable applications that require secure data transfer and storage, and a long battery life.
"Securing your data is one of the key challenges in today's Internet of Things world," said Joe Thomsen, vice president of Microchip's MCU16 Division. "The combination of our XLP technology and encryption capabilities enables this new PIC24 'GB4' family to increase the integrity of embedded data for a broad range of applications, without sacrificing power consumption."
To protect embedded data, several Microchip Core Independent Peripherals (CIPs) that run without the CPU are integrated into the PIC24F "GB4" family. The fully featured hardware crypto engine, which includes support for the AES, DES and 3DES standards, reduces software overhead, lowers power consumption and enables faster throughput. A Random Number Generator is used for generating random keys for data encryption, decryption and authentication, enabling a higher level of security. For additional protection, this family offers the flexibility of choosing from two crypto-key storage options: One-Time-Programmable (OTP) to prevent overwriting keys, or Key RAM that erases keys if power is lost. To allow the application's Real-Time Clock to continue running when primary power is removed, a VBAT pin can be used to supply back-up power.
Reducing system components, a segmented LCD display driver provides the ability to directly drive up to 512 segments, enabling more informative and flexible displays that include descriptive icons and scrolling.
Development Support
The PIC24F "GB4" family is supported by Microchip's standard suite of world-class development tools, including the PIC24FJ256GB410 Plug-In Module (part # MA240038, $25.00) for the Explorer 16 Development Board (part # DM240001, $129.99).

Gimmie Introduces New Loyalty Rewards Technology to Help Sustain Engagement, Interactivity
SPH Magazines's HardwareZone and Samsung increase engagement & responsiveness in one-month promotion campaign
SINGAPORE, Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gamification and loyalty technology solutions provider Gimmie has introduced a revolutionary platform that has helped HardwareZone, a SPH Magazines Private (SPHMag) Limited-owned forum for computing, enhance its audience engagement and sustained its participant interactivity during a one-month promotion contest featuring Samsung Asia Pte Limited.
These capabilities are the first of its kind in the industry and are a boon for media companies wanting to extend their repertoire of innovative promotional features to their clients, particularly those who would like to see more engagement and interactivity offered.
With Gimmie's solution in place, the HardwareZone contest participants were not only paying attention to developments about the contest but were also logging in daily to participate interactively on the forum thereby making the entire contest fun and engaging.
"Through use of our innovative technology, the HardwareZone gamified contest featuring Samsung was able to sustain interest throughout the promotional campaign in such a way as to garner over 69,000 page views and 6,225 unique posts in only a month," says Liyana Sulaiman, Managing Director of Gimmie.
Contest details
The South Korean consumer electronics giant organised a promotional campaign on HardwareZone aimed at boosting its fan engagement between July 27 and August 27, 2015, in conjunction with the launch of Samsung's new solid-state storage device (SSD).
A series of pictures -- a new one each week -- were shown throughout the contest period to which participants were to guess what features the new Samsung SSD T1 had. For every right guess, participants racked up points, which upon reaching a certain threshold, can be used to redeem the top prize -- a brand new 1 terabyte (TB) Samsung SSD T1 worth S$899. Secondary prizes await those who don't get enough points.
Participants are also given extra chances to earn points if they are able to guess certain mystery words, which were refreshed weekly, every time a new picture is introduced. This way, participants came back to HardwareZone daily and the contest was able to elicit consistent engagement rate as the higher the interaction by the participants, the higher the chances of them winning.
Besides being able to obtain over 6,225 unique posts from users, campaign participants on the HardwareZone forum were very active, discussing a variety of topics on different forum threads involving the campaign. The forum was so active that it was able to generate a total of 438 unique actions on average daily so far, which translates to 3 types of unique actions -- namely posting, keywords and voting -- a day by participants.
What this means in practice is that Samsung gets more visibility with fans and is able to create user advocates who can speak honestly about the value of the products promoted, while increasing the amount of online information about their products from real users. As a client too, Samsung received reports covering all of the campaign details including listing of users and engagement so that they can track the campaign's progress.
A sense of achievement is fostered among participants, as expressed by their responses on the forum, with some stating that they felt empowered because they have not relied on pure luck to win but was able to increase their chances by logging in daily and commenting on the forum. Some also felt that they gained new knowledge by participating in the forum.
Meanwhile, SPH Magazines (SPHMag) also benefits as they are now able to attract new advertisers and content partners to their vast stable of publications and give them the advantage other media companies aren't able to.
"As a leading publisher in Asia, SPH Magazines is constantly offering new and innovative features to our partners to design exciting campaigns for their customers. Through our collaboration with Gimmie and the new innovative offerings, our clients will be able to develop real-time and sustained engagement in their campaigns. We are looking forward to more clients using our products to engage with their fans," says Ivan Chew, Senior Operations Manager for New Media of SPH Magazines.
Other benefits
Besides increased and sustained engagement, another plus point for media companies such as SPHMag is that is they can easily package and resell different campaigns to different advertising partners.
With Gimmie's adaptable and highly customisable APIs (application programming interface) and plugins, clients can now easily engineer different campaigns based on different criteria without having to worry about being locked in or strapped with the inability to alter parameters of their campaign. Put simply, the same-type campaigns or something entirely different can easily be adapted and managed online by clients.
"This fundamentally revolutionises how promotional campaigns are done as large media companies and brands, such as SPH Magazines, can package and resell these capabilities to different advertisers easily," concludes Liyana.

Sensoro-powered iBeacon Service Applied in 99 Ranch Market Strategy
SEATTLE, Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The leading iBeacon service provider Sensoro today announced that the "WeChat App - Shake Shake Game," which is powered by the company, has been launched in 99 Ranch Market stores in Washington state since August 14.
As the largest Chinese American supermarket chains in the U.S, 99 Ranch Market plays an irreplaceable role in ethnic Chinese American's life. Though established in 1984, the supermarket is not stuck by traditional marketing thinking, but is devoted to applying new marketing strategy.
From August 14 to 27, 99 Ranch Market in Washington State has prepared considerable digital market coupons and gifts for consumers by launching the "WeChat App -- Shake Shake Game," which is powered by Sensoro. It is the first Beacon-based digital marketing case with WeChat in North America and has successfully helped increase customer flow and enhanced the shopping experience.
What is iBeacon?
iBeacon is protocol standard proposed by Apple which is the technique used to provide location information with Beacon hardware. Wechat, a Chinese social smartphone app, has 600 million users and is available on almost all smartphones in China, while Wechat's "shake" feature is regarded as one of the most competitive digital marketing tools for iBeacon technology applied in real scenarios.
Sensoro's Yunzi beacon is the most widely used beacon sensor to support the WeChat interface. Yunzi products have been sent to 46 countries and deployed in more than 5,790 retail stores.
After evaluating the market, 99 Ranch Market decided to try the "Shake" mode of marketing strategy with the support of Yunzi sensor.
New marketing strategy enhances customer flow effectively
The event lasts from August 14 to 27 in all 99 Ranch Market stores in Washington State, and the number of participants reached more than 1,700 on the first day. The result is not a surprise with such innovative and eye-catching marketing strategy. WeChat's "shake" feature has changed the business models and how cosumers behave while increasing the conversion rate.
Customers can follow the steps below to join the activity:
-- Firstly, download and open the WeChat smartphone app and turn on the
Bluetooth function. Within the WeChat app, choose the "Discover" tab and
tap the "Shake" button.
-- Secondly, wait until the word "Nearby" appears on the screen.
-- Thirdly, this is the most fun and important step -- shake the phone
until the in-game audio stops, and a small rectangular "99 Ranch Market"
link is shown on the lower portion of the screen. By clicking the pop-up
window that 99 Ranch Market sent to the phone, customers will be able to
know whether they have won the prize or not. The more they shake, the
greater the chance of winning a prize.
WeChat's "shake" feature has been widely used in China which means beacon notifications are not "pushed" to a user's smartphone. When WeChat is launched and a customer is within range of a beacon, a proximity icon will appear on his or her screen. If the user then shakes the smartphone, the coupon will be delivered, eliminating the potential negative experience of having beacon notifications automatically sent to the customer's smartphone.
The operation of the activity is easy, and customers are allowed to participate in any location inside the supermarket, which greatly enhances the enthusiasm of the customer to participate. In addition, different with the traditional raffle, there is no limitation for shaking frequency. The more customers shake, the more opportunity they could win the coupons.
The activity once again confirms the success of the new marketing strategy. One customer who participated in the activity said, "What attracts me most is the novelty of the activity, and it is great to have a chance to get coupons by shaking a smartphone. It's worth taking the time to shake the phone."
Several Chinese restaurants have deployed Yunzi as well, looking to conduct activities with Yunzi based on iBeacon technology. As for what changes will iBeacon bring next for Chinese Americans, we'll have to wait and see.

New Video Putting Game Simulates Real Golf Courses
Unlike other golf games, players use a real putter and real balls
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Here's a video putting game for the home or office that simulates real golf courses and even miniature golf courses. Unlike other video games, you putt with a real ball and putter, and you have to account for breaks in the trajectory.
It's called the Stracka Putt Game and is the brainchild of San Diego's Jim Stracka. The game is set up on a special mat with infrared sensors that calculate the path of your putt and display it on your TV or Smartphone. A free app, available from the Apple or Google Play store, tells you where to hit the ball and how hard.
"This technology is great for the 'gaming' millennials and their children," says Stracka, the CEO of StrackaLine (http://www.strackaline.com). "This is a simple way to play golf in the confines of your own home or office."
With Stracka Putt, you can play on many famous courses, including those currently used on the PGA Tour.
"We use 3D modeling lasers to scan the surface of putting greens from golf courses all around the world," explains Stracka. "The app and books we create allow golfers to see all the slopes and breaks of the green, and see the exact line for their putts."
The Stracka Putt package includes a black box with sensors and power cord, a putter, three golf balls and a special putting mat.
Players can practice, compete on the Internet against other people or compete for cash and prizes in on-line tournaments hosted by StrackaLine. It's fun for golfers and non-golfers of any age, and is an activity the whole family can enjoy.
Stracka needs $50,000 to finish development of the game and start production. The goal is to begin shipping Stracka Putt by the end of 2015. In order to generate this start-up capital, he has launched a Kickstarter campaign, which can be viewed at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/stracka/home-putting-simulator-for-golfers.
The Kickstarter page includes a demonstration video.
Donations of any amount are welcome. For $20, backers have a choice of a StrackaLine cap or a one-year membership to the StrackaLine App. For $150, you can get the Stracka Putt game itself. That's a $300 value.

LeapFrog® Unveils Revolutionary New Android-based Kids Tablet, LeapFrog Epic(TM), Offering Unique Play and Learning Experiences Designed to Adapt as a Child Grows
Created by the experts in children's tablets, the LeapFrog Epic tablet brings LeapFrog's vast award-winning selection of learning content plus amazing new interactive features to an Android-based consumer electronics tablet for the first time - giving children ways to explore safely, play, imagine and create like never before.
EMERYVILLE, Calif., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- LeapFrog Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:LF), the leader in innovative learning solutions for children, today unveiled the new LeapFrog Epic (http://www.leapfrog.com/epic) Android-based kids tablet, which marks the first time LeapFrog has offered a vast, award-winning selection of learning content on a tablet made specifically for sale in the consumer electronics section of stores. The LeapFrog Epic tablet was built from the ground up to adapt as a child grows, offering endless possibilities for children to explore safely, play, imagine and create. The full-featured tablet delivers access to unique personalized learning experiences that auto-level with a child's progress; an amazing first-of-its-kind, customizable, interactive, playable home screen; kid-safe browsing right out of the box that can adjust accessibility as a child is ready; and easy-to-use parental controls that help define the play experience for each individual child.
"We create tablets for parents that are looking for the perfect introduction to tablet play for their child, with the best safety features available today and access to a vast selection of our award-winning content that not only provides a breadth of entertainment, but delivers life-changing learning and development," said John Barbour, LeapFrog CEO. "The LeapFrog Epic tablet is age-appropriate right out of the box, but grows with a child. Children expect technology that's more like their parents' - sleeker and faster, whereas parents want technology that has been designed with kids in mind and safely delivers educational and development benefits, not just another TV screen. The LeapFrog Epic tablet is a perfect balance - a unique, full-featured kid's tablet experience with the learning content and controls that parents can trust and all the play, creativity, and exploration children will love."
LeapFrog and Kelton (http://www.keltonglobal.com), a leading global insights company, recently conducted a survey of 1,000 U.S. parents with children ages three to eight years old, asking for their perspective on their children's use of technology. According to the results, almost universally parents want the mobile device their child uses to be a great educational tool (98%), yet they admit that just half (50%) of the content their child experiences on these devices is actually educational. And, 66 percent of parents say the mobile device their child uses does not contain content that has been curated by educational experts, but 57 percent wish it did.
"Part of addressing the needs of a growing child includes providing educational content that continues to inspire a love of learning," said Dr. Jody Sherman LeVos, director of LeapFrog's Learning Team. "With the LeapFrog Epic tablet, we expanded the learning and personalization in our tablet offering, while also offering parents the ability to monitor and customize their child's experience.
First-of-Its-Kind Interactive, Customizable, and Playable Homescreen
According to the survey, 66 percent of parents would like a tablet with a child friendly interface and 61 percent ask for a personalized experience that's right for their child's age. The LeapFrog Epic tablet provides a perfect solution with a revolutionary new homescreen* where children can personalize, create, and interact with innovative features that provide a world of discovery while it grows and changes as they do.
Grow with Your Child Kid-Safe Browsing and Expandable Parent Controls
Seventy-five percent of parents say it's very important that their child does not see inappropriate content, such as on the Internet or TV shows; however, less than half of parents (43%) have set controls on their devices. In fact, almost 1 in 5 parents (17%) say their child has stumbled upon inappropriate content on a mobile device.
Out of the box, the LeapFrog Epic tablet provides children a kid-safe browsing experience through its proprietary LeapSearch browser only allowing access to pre-selected, kid-safe web content from over 5,000+ videos, images, websites and games all reviewed and approved by LeapFrog learning experts. Through the LeapSearch browser on the tablet, parents can feel confident that the content their child sees is age appropriate. As their child's interests change and grow, parents can simply add new websites to the LeapSearch browser, yet still feel secure in knowing exactly the types of content and websites their child can access through the tablet. As the ultimate "grow with your child" feature, parents can unlock an unrestricted, open browser, but at the time when they believe their child is ready.
In addition, with new, easy-to-use control settings, parents can adjust the amount of time their child spends on the tablet by total time, hours of the day and by app category for up to three different user profiles - providing the opportunity to customize the control settings for the differing needs of each child using the tablet.
The Power and Design of a Parent Tablet Made For Kids
Built with unique features made just for kids, the LeapFrog Epic tablet comes with all the features expected from a full-featured adult tablet. Using an operating system based on Android(TM) 4.4, the LeapFrog Epic tablet features a quad-core processor, brilliant seven-inch multi-touch capacitive LCD screen, front and back camera, video recorder, 16 GB of memory and six plus hours of battery life, to deliver amazing performance perfect for a child's every adventure.
For a sleeker look, children can also remove the included kid-safe bumper and untether the stylus for the ultimate cool factor that looks more like their parents' tablet.
Award-winning LeapFrog Content and Kid Favorite Android Apps
The LeapFrog Epic tablet will include LeapFrog games, apps, ebooks and more that draw from 2,600 skills, including creativity, STEM and problem solving. LeapFrog games and apps cover all the basics including math and reading, but go beyond to spark imagination and logic, support social-emotional learning, inspire scientific thinking and more. LeapFrog's exclusive Just for Me(TM) learning technology personalizes select games up to 10 unique ways from remembering curricular progress across games to automatically adjusting learning levels and providing tutorials on demand with a touch of the hint button. In addition, parents can expand the fun with other kid favorite Android-based games from some of the top children's app developers. Every piece of content included in the LeapFrog Epic App Center is LeapFrog approved to ensure there are no in-app purchases, no harmful third party ads, and only age-appropriate experiences.

Huawei Redefines Innovative ICT to Enable Smart Energy at its Global Energy Industry Summit 2015
ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- With energy as a driving force for global economic development, energy companies around the world are encountering a multitude of challenges as they move towards digital transformation. Against this backdrop, Huawei hosted its Global Energy Industry Summit 2015 with the theme of "Innovative ICT Enables Smart Energy" in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from August 19 to 20, 2015. The summit gathered over two hundred attendees to discuss the application of innovative ICT technologies and solutions in the energy industry to enhance production efficiency, enable scientific management and ensure secure operations. Attendees included representatives from Huawei's customers from the energy sector in China, Egypt, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan; global partners such as CNPC Richfit, China Petroleum Pipeline Engineering Corporation (CPPE), Honeywell, ABB, and SAP; senior analysts from the Forrester Research consulting company; as well as experts and media from the global oil and gas industry.
"In the future, ICT technologies will substantially change the entire oil and gas industry, and will redefine business strategies and efficient production methods in the process," said Bobby Cameron, Vice President of Forrester. "Today, the industry's ecosystem faces many difficulties. Specifically, these challenges include constant pipeline security issues, the inability to perform quick analyses and sharing of real-time data exploration, low operational efficiency, and low production maturity. These are key considerations that negatively impact the profitability of oil and gas companies."
Zhang Zhilin, Ex-CTO & Vice President, Information Department, Sinopec Group, said the biggest cause of these challenges can be attributed to international oil price fluctuations, adding that, "It is only through constant innovation, cost reduction, and efficiency improvement, that oil and gas companies can remain competitive. The informatization of the energy industry will focus on areas including Internet of Things (IoT), big data, cloud computing, mobile and coordination, and intelligence, facilitating the evolution from digital energy to smart energy."
Phil Millette, a Senior Consultant from Honeywell, highlighted that oil and gas companies need to focus on security and efficiency, and said, "The key of production process optimization is to ensure the safety of employees and to protect the environment while improving collaborative operations. Real-time video surveillance and remote collaboration technologies can be leveraged to ensure safe operations."
Also at the summit, Jerry Ji, President of the Energy Industry, Huawei Enterprise Business Group, delivered a keynote speech titled "Innovative ICT Empowers Smart Energy", in which he said, "Innovative ICT will drive growth in the energy industry, and we expect the world to have 100 billion data connections across industries by 2025. The oil and gas industry will witness the ever-increasing application of smart devices, which generate large volumes of data. This data will need to be analyzed and stored. As such, traditional OT devices will gradually develop new IT features to keep pace with industry trends. Huawei, in efforts to address this emerging trend, launched its innovative 'cloud-pipe-device' architecture to apply innovative ICT technologies and solutions. This includes cloud data center and big data, agile networks and LTE, Internet of Things (IoT) gateway and open-source IoT operating system 'LiteOS'. These technologies can be applied to the entire oil and gas production process to drive the transformation of the oil and gas industry."
"In our world today, eighty-five percent of crude oil and seventy percent of natural gas are transported by pipelines that stretch thousands of miles around the world. As a result, it is important for oil and gas companies to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations across these long-distance pipelines. At the summit, Huawei is joined by CNPC Richfit, CPPE, ABB, and Honeywell, to launch an end-to-end digital pipeline solution to provide integrated services covering consultation and design, ICT infrastructure, production automation, applications, and services," Jerry Ji added.
At the summit, Huawei also showcased a series of smart energy solutions, including digital pipeline, digital production, cloud data center, and mobile office. These solutions cover all the operations processes in the oil and gas industry, from discovery to production, transportation, and information management. As part of the discussions around the development of digital pipelines and related trends, attendees at the summit also had the opportunity to visit the Huawei and Asia Gas Pipeline (AGP) Almaty Control Center (ACC) prototype located in the central Almaty, an overall control center for the AGP-AB line and the future AGP-C line. The center is capable of monitoring natural gas pipelines across Kazakhstan. During the visit, Huawei showcased the center's site-based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system, satellite images of pipelines and video images of the sites.

UniPixel Delivers First Engineering Samples Combining XTouch, Diamond Guard and Hybrid-Metal Plating To New Major PC and Consumer Electronics OEM
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- UniPixel, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNXL), a provider of Performance Engineered Films(TM) to the touchscreen and flexible electronics markets, announced today that it has shipped to a potential new major PC and consumer electronics OEM customer the first touch sensor engineering samples that integrate its XTouch touch sensor technology with its new hybrid-metal plating process and Diamond Guard resin coating. The samples are being delivered for assembly into a touchscreen panel that will be evaluated for use in a new 10 inch tablet product.
The samples are the first to be delivered with this combination of attributes. The hybrid-metal plating further improves the visual appearance of the XTouch sensors, and is expected to further enhance robustness of the sensor under extreme environmental stress conditions. Diamond Guard adds a protective coating to the sensor that makes it easier for the touch panel integrator to handle XTouch without damage during the touch panel assembly process and eliminates need for an extra film layer to be added by the touch panel integrator for robustness. This represents both a material handling improvement and a key element of our overall manufacturing cost reduction program.
Mr. Brett Gaines, vice president of sales and marketing, commented, "We are pleased that yet another major PC and consumer electronics manufacturer, this time based in Japan, will be evaluating our technology for inclusion into a new device. The integration of the Atmel touch screen technology that we recently acquired, into UniPixel's advanced touch screen technology brings together the best attributes of two compelling touch technologies that promises unmatched total performance and cost efficiencies. Additionally, UniPixel's ability to shorten the lead-time required to generate a custom design in order to react to this opportunity highlights another aspect of our competitiveness in the marketplace. We continue to expand the number of leading manufacturers that are actively considering UniPixel technology for new product offerings."
UniPixel's XTouch sensors support features such as narrow borders, curved touch surfaces and even edgeless touchscreens while achieving improved linearity, reliability and thinner sensor stacks. As an alternative to traditional touch sensors, XTouch provides the ability to turn unique touch-based concepts into functional designs at lower total system costs.
About UniPixel
UniPixel, Inc. (NASDAQ: UNXL) develops and markets Performance Engineered Films for the touch screen and flexible electronics markets. The company's roll-to-roll electronics manufacturing process patterns fine line conductive elements on thin films. The company markets its technologies for touch panel sensor, cover glass replacement, and protective cover film applications under the XTouch(TM) and Diamond Guard(TM) brands. 3BLACKDOT Releases Early Access STEAM Horror Mega-Hit 'Dead Realm'
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- 3BLACKDOT (3BD), the influencer-driven entertainment company created to develop exciting new digital experiences, is adding a new title to its roster of global successes with the early access release of Dead Realm on STEAM.
Launched on STEAM early access on July 30, Dead Realm quickly shot to the top of the STEAM charts, hitting the coveted #1 spot of Popular New Releases in its first day before climbing the charts further and landing the #1 spot in both Horror and Indie categories on the popular PC gaming platform. Created in partnership with leading global YouTube influencers Adam Montoya (SeaNanners), Tom Cassell (TheSyndicateProject) and Evan Fong (VanossGaming), Dead Realm is the first multiplayer PC game created by an influencer network and for the YouTube community.
"The original concept for Dead Realm was to create a new game that was simple in nature, but also addictively fun to play with friends," said Adam Montoya, one of the founding members and Co-Creators of 3BLACKDOT.
Developed by Los Angeles-based gaming guru Section Studios and published by 3BD, Dead Realm is a creepy and beautifully crafted immersive gaming experience that thrusts players into the haunted world of a long dead electricity tycoon, William Huxley. Gamers can play as either a Ghost or a Human character and must roam the halls with friends in co-op fashion to run, hide, survive...or die. "Our intention is to work with the community to constantly develop new content, including ghosts, humans and maps. This early access release is just the beginning of what will be an ever evolving project," said Evan Fong, the newest global influencer to join 3BD and its rising multi-channel network JETPAK as partner and co-creator.
"This is the first time that a game has been developed in partnership with online influencers with a primary goal of creating content that's not only fun to play, but also fun to watch, share and stream," said Angelo Pullen, CEO and Co-founder, 3BLACKDOT. "Our company's mission is to produce innovative, high-quality experiences for and with influencers and their communities."
"When Dead Realm first hit the STEAM early access store, we really didn't know what to expect," said Tom Cassell, Partner and Creative Director, 3BLACKDOT. "Then the community began to react and the response was overwhelming. Our twitter account hit twenty-thousand followers within the first two days and Twitch created a designated channel on day one --- this all happened without any dedicated marketing dollars."
Dead Realm was an instant success with the gaming and YouTube community, with more than 25,000 individual fan videos created, generating more than 30 million views to date and counting. Leading livestream video platform Twitch.tv also received more than 1 million views to its official Dead Realm channel. As a trending topic on Twitter, more than 90,000 tweets mentioning #DeadRealm have been posted in the two short weeks since landing on STEAM early access.
Dead Realm will be updated periodically with new content during its early access phase, with the final release of the game slated for early 2016.

Super League Unveils First-Ever Movie Theater Gaming League At PAX Prime 2015, Hosted By CaptainSparklez
Newly Launched Super League Gaming Has Partnered With The Nation's Three Largest Theater Chains To Turn Movie Theaters Into Entertaining, Multiplayer Arenas For Gamers Across The Nation
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Super League Gaming, the world's first in-theater video game league that transforms local movie theaters into engaging, multiplayer gaming arenas is coming to PAX Prime in Seattle on Aug. 29. The special PAX appearance will conclude a 25-city Summer Tour and reveal a new Minecraft game map as Super League ramps up for their first official, nationwide Fall League beginning on Oct. 6.
As online gaming and eSports have allowed players to connect in an increasingly broader context, Super League brings those same connections into a thrilling, real-life setting that turns everyday gaming into highly-social, interactive experiences within the movie theater and on the big screen.
Super League has partnered with the country's three largest theater chains -- Regal Entertainment Group, AMC Theatres, and Cinemark Theatres, as well as luxury chain iPic Theaters -- to bring their new form of team gameplay to players throughout the U.S. in six-week, after school, league sessions beginning this fall.
"This isn't a bunch of spectators watching a few people play. This is a hundred players, just like you, hanging out and competing every week," says Super League President and COO, Brett Morris. "It's totally immersive and takes the best parts of gameplay to a whole new level. The most deeply satisfying games, the ones that really draw us in, are the ones that have a community built around them. Super League turns those virtual communities into something far more real. That's what makes it exciting."
The Fall League will launch with Minecraft, with other popular game titles and genres to be announced in the coming months. Super League's proprietary technology uses Minecraft's open source API to merge all players onto a single movie screen, creating a wholly new experience for group gameplay. Gamers play in the traditional first-person view on their own laptops while a third-person aerial view of the customized Minecraft world, and their opponents, is projected on the theater screen. Players in the official Fall League will compete within Super League's new map, Crystal Crater, which allows teams to strategize and collaborate in a customized, in-theater game.
CaptainSparklez, one of YouTube's biggest Minecraft celebrities with over 8.6 million subscribers, is a founding gamer among the Super League team and will be hosting the Aug. 29 event with a special red carpet appearance and meet & greet, as well as media interviews. He will also be joined by ParkerGames, fellow Minecraft YouTube celebrity and Super League digital star.
"We're really excited about Seattle because there's a natural connection here. Just like PAX, our brand is a nod to the early days of arcades and how they bridged digital and physical in the same space. It was a really social experience where we made some of our best memories. I think Super League can recreate a lot of those same moments for today's players," says Super League Gaming Co-Founder and Chief Visionary John Miller. "We think that's where the culture of gaming is headed."
Super League's PAX Prime Event hosted by CaptainSparklez will take place from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29 at the Regal Meridian Theater, one block from the Washington State Convention Center. Media are invited to come learn more about the Fall League and witness Super League in action as they watch gamers and teams play live and in-theater, and see a preview of their original programming slate for the Super League YouTube channel. Super League's founding team will also be onsite and available for interviews. For press passes or other requests please email Jasmine (jasmine@jbcomms.com).

FRESNO, Calif., Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the popularity of its Way To Gold mobile app, RKTOnline is announcing that they will be releasing a Player vs. Player version around Thanksgiving. The game has had tremendous growth since its release in January. It has taken hold with all age groups, young and old alike. With the new release, a player will be able to choose who they want to play against and when, put the game on hold for later, or put a cap on it. According to Chander Joshi, President, "One of the questions we get the most is, 'When will I be able to play against my family and friends?'" While it's no Candy Crush at this time, it has its own base of players that enjoy a nice challenge and like listening to the background music. Once the Player vs. Player version is released, there will be a leader board to shoot for and potentially prizes to be won.
As was started with the original game release, the new release will also be done by local developers from the Fresno, CA area with assistance from developers from Silicon Valley. Monika Joshi stated it best, "We plan on bringing Silicon Valley to Fresno."
Based on the 'freemium model,' Way to Gold can be enjoyed by players of all ages. While giving users the ability to purchase power-ups to advance levels and reach higher scores, at no point is there any obligation. Players can complete the game by earning power-ups since they can also be obtained by smashing nuggies into barrels that appear throughout the game.
Toshiba Expands Lineup Of PDAF-Equipped CMOS Image Sensors For Smartphones And Tablets
New sensors enable high-speed, sharp focus for both still and moving images
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC)*, a committed leader that collaborates with technology companies to create breakthrough designs, today announced its full lineup of backside-illuminated (BSI) CMOS image sensors equipped with phase detection auto-focus (PDAF) technology. In addition to the recently announced 16-megapixel (MP) T4KC3-121, the family includes three new products: the T4KA3-121 (8MP), T4KB3-121 (13MP) and T4KA7-121 (20MP). The new sensors were developed to speed sharp capture and playback of video and images in mobile devices.
The PDAF technology implemented in Toshiba's new image sensors enables users to achieve a higher focusing speed than conventional auto-focus (AF). By bringing objects, near or far, into focus more quickly, PDAF enables shooting of clearer, less blurry images and movies. Already integrated into single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras, PDAF capability is increasingly being required by makers of smartphones and tablets to accommodate growing consumer demand.
"Featuring such advanced functionalities as high dynamic range (HDR), Bright Mode, high-speed capturing, and PDAF, Toshiba's CMOS image sensors help deliver beautiful images and movies," said Andrew Burt, vice president of the Image Sensor Business Unit, System LSI Group at TAEC. "Moreover, since PDAF doesn't require space for AF sensors in the camera module, it enables development of thinner smartphones and other mobile devices with the ability to deliver sharp, natural images and movies in a high-speed manner."
The T4KA3-121 achieves output speed of up to 30 frames per second (fps) at full 8MP resolution, with power consumption of 140 milliwatts (mW) or lower, while output speed for the T4KB3-121 is up to 30 fps at full 13MP resolution, and power consumption is 170 mW or lower. The T4KC3-121 achieves output speeds of up to 30fps at full 16MP resolution with 240 mW power consumption, and the T4KA7-121 reaches up to 22fps output at full 20MP resolution and 440 mW power consumption. Optical sizes are 1/4 inch, 1/3.07 inch, 1/2.78 inch and 1/2.4 inch, respectively, and all of the sensors have a pixel pitch of 1.12-micron BSI.
Availability
Samples of the PDAF-equipped T4KA3-121 and T4KB3-121 are available now, along with the T4KC3-121. Sample shipments of the T4KA7-121 will begin in October.

BALTIMORE, Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- NV3 Technologies, a technology solutions company based in Baltimore, Maryland, has been providing charging solutions to customers since 2009. NV3 recently recognized the need for a portable solution that doesn't require direct access to electricity or even solar power, and, in response, innovated tables equipped with new NV3 Powercell Technology.
An NV3 Powercell is built into the popular HTC-09 High Top Charging Table and charges nine smartphones at a time for an entire day. At night, the table is simply plugged into a standard outlet to recharge for the next day. By leveraging NV3 Powercell Technology, NV3 has cut the cord on device charging kiosks, allowing customers to charge at their convenience, instead of only where there is an outlet. This cutting edge technology is being viewed by some of NV3's larger clients as a potential game changer.
-- Festivals and ballparks benefit from the ability to put tables wherever
needed without regards to availability of electric power.
-- Conference exhibits and trade show booths are often set up throughout
convention centers and not always in direct access to wall outlets, and
High Top Charging Tables with NV3 Powercell Technology allow them to
provide this needed and appreciated service easily and efficiently.
-- Medical centers and outdoor dining areas can place battery-powered
tables anywhere on the premises, even where there is no access to
electricity.
-- Bars and restaurants that wish to offer phone charging to customers can
now do so without worrying about bulky extension cords.
An experiential marketing agency in the Midwest has chosen to use Powercell Tables to solve a problem that event attendees face. Ten High Top Charging Tables, branded by a national corporate sponsor for the event, kept people charged and connected all day with the convenience of NV3 Powercell Technology and no need for electrical outlets.
Sprint Corporation, who has worked with NV3 on multiple projects involving many varieties of charging solutions, was the corporate sponsor for the first event at which NV3 Powercell Tables were used. The service was well received, enhancing Sprint's image and providing a positive experience for event-goers. "Guests loved having the option to charge their phone! They looked great and the client loved them as well."
At NV3 Technologies, there is a solution to every device charging and digital signage need. Cypress Introduces the World's Lowest-Power Energy Harvesting Power Management ICs for Battery-Free Wireless Sensor Nodes
PMICs Enable Breakthrough Form Factor of 1 cm2 for Solar-Powered WSN IoT Applications; Extend Cypress's Award-Winning Portfolio of Energy Harvesting Devices
SAN JOSE, Calif., Aug. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: CY) today announced a new family of Energy Harvesting Power Management Integrated Circuits (PMICs) that enable tiny, solar-powered wireless sensors for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The new devices are the world's lowest-power, single-chip Energy Harvesting PMICs, and can be used with solar cells as small as 1 cm(2). The new PMIC devices are fully integrated, making them ideal for batteryless Wireless Sensor Nodes (WSNs) that monitor physical and environmental conditions for smart homes, commercial buildings, factories, infrastructure and agriculture. Cypress offers a complete, battery-free Energy Harvesting solution that pairs the S6AE101A PMIC, the first device in the new family, with the EZ-BLE(TM) PRoC(TM) module for Bluetooth(®) Low Energy connectivity, along with supporting software, in a $49 kit.
The WSN IoT device market is expected to grow to more than 5 billion units by 2020, putting a premium on battery-free implementations to reduce cost and maintenance problems. The placement of a WSN may limit its size and the amount of light available, thereby limiting the size and power output of the solar module and the startup power available for the Energy Harvesting PMIC. The new Cypress Energy Harvesting PMIC devices address these challenges with startup power of 1.2uW--4x lower than the nearest competitor--and consumption current as low as 250nA, maximizing the power available for the sensing, processing and communications functions of a target application. The fully-certified, small-form-factor EZ-BLE PRoC module, which is based on Cypress's PRoC BLE Programmable Radio-on-Chip solution, works with the PMIC devices to contribute to the low power and ease-of-use of an energy harvesting system solution.
"The most compelling new Wireless Sensor Nodes that will drive IoT growth are self-powered, can be deployed anywhere for more than 10 years, and require minimal deployment and maintenance costs," said Kiyoe Nagaya, vice president of the Analog Business Unit at Cypress. "Using our new Energy Harvesting PMIC and EZ-BLE PRoC Bluetooth Smart module, Cypress offers a complete solution that enables developers to create solar-powered WSNs for batteryless IoT devices."
About Cypress's Award-winning Energy Harvesting PMICs
Cypress PMICs enable efficient harvesting from sunlight, vibrations and thermal variations, and offer dual inputs from two sources simultaneously, making them a reliable, flexible option to fully power or extend the battery life in IoT applications.
The Cypress energy harvesting PMICs have received several industry awards, including:
-- The 2015 Annual Creativity in Electronics (ACE) Award for Energy
Technology , presented by EDN and EE Times.
-- The Product of the Year Award for the MB39C811 PMIC from the
Environmental Leader Product & Project Awards in March 2015. The judges
recognized several key qualities of the energy harvesting technology
that is now a part of Cypress's portfolio following the completion of
its merger with Spansion.
-- The Emerging Technology Award, Second Place in M2M, IoT, Sensors, RFID &
NFC for the ultra low power buck PMIC for solar and vibrations energy
harvesting, MB39C811 from CTIA in 2014.
-- The Green IT Award program for energy harvesting solutions from the
Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan in 2013.
Availability and Design Tools
The Cypress S6AE101A Energy Harvesting PMIC is sampling now, with production expected in the fourth quarter of 2015. Cypress offers the $49 Solar-Powered IoT Device Kit that contains a baseboard with a solar module and a Bluetooth(®) Low Energy-USB bridge. Cypress PMICs are supported by the comprehensive Easy DesignSim(TM), a free, web-based simulation tool for Cypress's PMIC solutions used to validate Energy Harvesting System (EHS) designs, including the bill-of-materials (BOM), schematic and the power consumed ( W) by the sensing, processing and communications functions of a target application.
