High-end Home Appliance Maker Casarte Rolls Out World's First Oil-less Compressor Refrigerator in China
QINGDAO, China, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The beginning of 2015 saw the arrival of the first wave of new products in the home appliance market. Just a few days ago word leaked out that high-end home appliance maker Casarte would roll out the world's first oil-less compressor refrigerator in China this March.
Oil-less compressor technology, originally used only in military applications, has, for the first time, been introduced into the home appliance industry by Casarte. It is the world's first application of this technology to refrigerators. The product is scheduled to debut on March 10(th) during Homexpo at Shanghai Expo Park and is expected to be a substantial disruptor to the traditional refrigerator industry.
According to industry watchers, the biggest advantage of the oil-less compressor refrigerator is its ability to maintain a constant temperature and, as a result, sustained freshness of the refrigerator's contents. Operation of the refrigerator is significantly more stable compared with a traditional model. The unit is capable of maintaining an interior temperature range of '0.05,' a range that by industry standards would be considered a constant temperature, thereby maintaining the freshness of the contents. At variance with traditional refrigerators that keep external freshness of the food by the adjustment of temperature and humidity, the oil-less refrigerator is able to prevent water loss at the cellular level, and, by doing so, maintain the nutritional value of the food for a significantly longer time.
Beyond the expectation of being an industry disruptor, the Casarte oilless compressor refrigerator has the makings of a game-changer in terms of the amount of effective usable space for refrigeration. The compressor of a traditional refrigerator is usually installed at the bottom of the freezer and is quite space-consuming, however, in the case of the oil-less unit, the designer moved the compressor to the top of the refrigerator, making more room for the freezer and greatly expanding the effective usable space within the unit.
With the advances in science and technology, many changes have taken place across the home appliance industry, especially the high-end home appliance market. Improvement of customer experience is the first priority when considering innovations either in technology or design. The birth of the Casarte oilless compressor refrigerator in China is the result of insight into the expectations of high-end households and is seen as the first bold step towards entry into the international market.
Making the Old New Again -- Blazblue Takes a Bold Approach
GUANGZHOU, China, March 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- 37Games, a global browser and mobile game publisher and developer, recently acquired the publish rights of Blazblue Revolution Reburning (BBRR) of Mainland China. The game's idea is based on a worldwide famous fighting game title-- Blazblue, which is originally developed by Arc System Works (Yokohama, Japan).
In Mainland China, there are two directions in which developers can choose to take upon acquiring licenses from outside firms. The first option is to simply incorporate the characters, story lines, and artwork into an existing game engine. Using the framework from existing gamescan keep costs low for the developer and is considerably less risky than using an all-new game engine or design. Players will already be familiar with the mechanics of the game, soit is basically a simple matter of re-skinning the game and telling a different story.
A more risky approach some developers would take is to acquire the related licenses and then develop a completely new game from the ground up.
Blazblue Revolution Reburning (BBRR), a Japanese style fighting game for the mobile market, is a recent example of a game that was built from the ground up using purchased license.
91Act, a mobile game developer, get the related licenses from Arc System Worksand re-developedthe game from zero, then grant the Operation Right of BBRR in Mainland to 37Games.
So far, the more risky approach seems to be paying off. BBRR has already been nominated as the "Most Anticipated Game" by Baidu Mobile Games. BBRR has even garnered some celebrity attention. Two well-known celebrities have agreed to fight in the game. The loser will have to embarrassedly support a garment according to the winner's choice.
As China is poised to be the world's largest entertainment market, the future seemsto be bright for those foreign firms who are willing to share their licenses with capable developers and publishers. The number of current online users in China surpasses previous records and the surge is expected continue in coming years. It is likely for more to seize this opportunity looking ahead.
Sony Computer Entertainment Unveils The New Prototype Of "Project Morpheus" - A Virtual Reality System That Expands The World Of PlayStation®4 (PS4(TM))
New Prototype Enables Developers To Immerse Players in Amazing Virtual Worlds
Project Morpheus To Launch In The First Half of 2016
TOKYO, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- At the 2015 Game Developers Conference held in San Francisco, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) unveiled the new prototype of "Project Morpheus" (Morpheus) - a virtual reality (VR) system that takes the PlayStation®4 (PS4(TM)) system to the next level of immersion and demonstrates the future of gaming.
Morpheus enables players to experience a sense of presence, where they feel as though they are physically inside the virtual world of a game. This unique VR experience was met with huge interest and industry enthusiasm since the unveil of Morpheus in March 2014. Over the past year SCE has been listening to feedback from both developers and consumers, and has made several enhancements that will further the capability of Morpheus to deliver a sense of presence and push the boundaries of play.
-- OLED displayIn exchange for the 5-inch LCD, the new Morpheus VR headset
is equipped with a 5.7-inch 1920 x RGB x 1080 resolution OLED display.
This new screen expands the field of view and enables low persistence,
removes motion blur and flicker, both of which build immersion and help
deliver the sense of presence for the player.
-- 120fps outputBy adopting OLED, Morpheus now supports 120fps output, and
is able to render 120 images per second. Furthermore, via a system
software update, all PS4 systems will handle native 120fps output when
connected to Morpheus. By combining the OLED display's high refresh rate
and the power of the PS4 system, Morpheus produces amazingly smooth
visuals and achieves the next level of immersion.
-- More accurate tracking and reduced latencyTo make positional tracking
more accurate with PlayStation®Camera, the new prototype has added
three more LEDs to the headset for a total of nine. Morpheus continues
to support 360 degree tracking, and additional LEDs improve robustness
and stability. Additionally, the overall system has been optimized to
reduce latency between the physical movement of a player's head and
rendering on the headset's screen.
-- User-friendly design While inheriting the original visor style headset
design that reduces the pressure on the players' face, the new Morpheus
prototype features a single band and a quick release button, which makes
it easier for players to put it on and take it off. Other components
have also been adjusted and configured to make the headset lighter, so
that players do not find the headset cumbersome or uncomfortable to use.
Developers will be able to use the new prototype to create Morpheus content for PS4, a robust and well-defined platform that has sold over 20.2 million units(*1) within 16 months of its launch. In addition to the enhancements, the new prototype will continue to support 3D audio and social screen, a feature that outputs the same gameplay that's within the Morpheus headset to a TV so additional players can interact. Furthermore, SCE will provide an SDK that converts 60fps images to output in 120fps, which will allow developers to bring their content that was being developed on the prior prototype to the new Morpheus prototype.
SCE will continue the development of Morpheus in order to launch as a consumer product in the first half of 2016.
"With the technical specs achieved on the new prototype, we are one step closer to realizing our vision for making amazing VR experiences on PS4, and ultimately to deliver a real sense of presence to players," said Shuhei Yoshida, President of SCE Worldwide Studios. "We believe that the near-final technology of Morpheus combined with the power of PS4 will provide a standard for game developers to target as they build on their creative ideas and turn them into VR games and experiences."

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes), 3-D printing, PED (Pulsed Electron Deposition) and
thin film technologies. The Fraunhofer Institute for Ceramic Technologies and Systems
(IKTS) will have its own booth in Hall E0/booth 105.)
Close Ties with South Korea - Dresden Know-how secures Head Start
Dresden is Europe's most important location for organic electronics, and a successful
international leader. By acquiring the Dresden OLED specialist Novaled AG in 2013, the
electronic giant Samsung Cheil Industries secured its technological advantage in the OLED
market. During the 'LG Open Innovation Fair 2014' in Dresden, the global leader LG created
technology partnerships with Saxon companies for the development of novel and
trend-setting technologies and products.
"LOPEC is one of the most important exhibitions for organic electronics," Dominik
Gronarz, Managing Director of Organic Electronics Saxony says. "Printed and flexible
organic electronics have reached a point where first applications are ready to be
mass-produced and used on a large-scale. Due to drastically decreasing prices of modules,
the OLED lighting industry is booming. For a while now, OLEDs have been used in displays
for smart phones and the newest flatscreen TVs."
Largest Fraunhofer Cluster presents novel Technologies
The Fraunhofer FEP will introduce the transparent OLED module. For instance, along
with applications in windows and wallpapers, the transparent color variable OLEDs are
suitable for ambience and accent lighting in cars or trains.
The Fraunhofer IWS and the Fraunhofer IKTS are providing the technological answer to
the global trend toward cost-efficient 3-D printing technology that enables the
application of electronic components and circuits onto carrier materials and reproduces
them. Researchers at the Fraunhofer IWS are demonstrating a novel procedure for

converts heat into electric energy. Thermoelectric generators, mounted to industrial
production lines, in the sewage system, in large data centers or exhaust systems can open
up large, previously unused energy resources. The Fraunhofer IKTS presents a new
separation technology in connection with custom-tailored inks and paste solutions for
applications in electronics and sensor technologies.
"The organic semiconductors are an important economic resource for Dresden, Europe's
largest microelectronics cluster," Dirk Hilbert, Mayor of Dresden, the Saxon state
capital, says. "By merging conventional, silicon-based and organic technologies, portable
electronic devices are becoming slimmer, lighter and more energy-efficient. For instance,
X-ray detectors with higher resolution can be realized in medical technology. I am
delighted that the two largest European industry networks OES and Silicon Saxony are
working together."
Dresden Entrepreneurs Optimize Manufacturing and Processing
During LOPEC 2015, VON ARDENNE will present a procedure for manufacturing novel,
compact OLED micro displays for data glasses and micro projectors. In the organic
electronics industry the trend is moving toward thinner and flexible displays used in
applications like smart watches.
Adenso presents an innovative system concept for the processing of ultra-thin flexible
glass from roll-to-roll. The concept allows cost-efficient processing with a single
machine instead of several possibly of different manufacturers. The thin film expert DTF
Technology has developed an innovative process: a procedure for depositing electric and
conductive layers. At the OES booth the company Plastic Logic Germany will be showcasing a
flexible electrophoretic display (EPD) in the form of a bracelet that functions as a smart
watch. And the company Heliatek will present flexible organic solar cells.

-- Native Windows 8.1 operating system guarantees immediate integration
into corporate environments
Fujitsu, a leading information communication technology company, unveiled a no-nonsense, fully-ruggedized industrial business tablet, the FUJITSU Tablet STYLISTIC® V535, today at Mobile World Congress. Designed to roll with the punches and absorb the bumps and scrapes that would normally destroy consumer-grade tablets, the 8.3" STYLISTIC V535 tablet stands up to almost anything its users can literally throw at it.
Complementing its tough exterior, the new STYLISTIC V535 doesn't compromise on the inside, either. Fujitsu has opted for the fully-featured Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 operating system so that organizations can run their Windows-based business applications natively, and uses the latest Intel® Atom(TM) quad-core processor. What's more, the toughened tablet is complemented with GPS and NFC.
Underlining its suitability for use in environments such as aviation, warehousing, retail and logistics, the Fujitsu STYLISTIC V535 also includes NFC technology, providing a convenient way to track inventory without the need to scan bar codes, as well as contactless authentication, which facilitates device log-on for users wearing gloves or other protective clothing. The STYLISTIC V535 also is built to operate within a wider temperature range than consumer devices, making it appropriate for diverse work environments and varying temperature conditions.
In designing its toughest-ever STYLISTIC, Fujitsu has not overlooked useabilty or durability, designing the tablet to perform well-beyond its ability to withstand water, dust and drops. Durable polycarbonate from Bayer protects sensitive electronics in rugged applications
PITTSBURGH, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Products to be used in rugged environments ranging from industrial to outdoor to medical have one clear thing in common - the need for toughness and durability. This is the "real-world" situation InHand Electronics faced when developing its own Hydra-F6(TM) tablet and the display unit for the Praemittias Systems' Wolfhound Cooperative Radio Direction Finding System(®) (Wolfhound).
"For our rugged tablet and radio system we required a commercially available material that was durable, moldable, resistant to chemicals and withstood impact testing," explained Tien Chuang, senior mechanical engineer, InHand Electronics, Inc. "We found what we were looking for in Makrolon(®) 9415 polycarbonate from Bayer MaterialScience."
Makrolon(®) 9415 polycarbonate is an easy-release, high-viscosity and flame-retardant grade. It is 10 percent glass-fiber reinforced and meets UL 94 V-0 rating at 1.5 mm and 5VA rating at 3.0 mm. This material was originally used by InHand Electronics in 2011 for its earlier-generation T3 model and provides superior performance in multiple industries due to its light weight, durability and good thermal properties.
"We worked with InHand for about a year to identify the right material for the job," said Anthony Leo, field market development, Polycarbonates - Northeast, Bayer MaterialScience LLC. "Bayer provided InHand with information regarding material properties and assisted with color matching and standards compliance."
Standards compliance was an important consideration when developing the Hydra-F6(TM) tablet. The device offers the versatility and portability of a consumer tablet with the durability and long production life of a MIL-SPEC mobile device. With a size of 8.42 inches by 5.92 inches by 0.98 inches and weighing 1.5 pounds, the tablet meets challenging MIL-STD-810G, MIL-STD-461F and IP67 environmental requirements. The housing, molded from Makrolon(®) 9415 polycarbonate, borders the 7-inch WSVGA sunlight-readable display with touchscreen, brightness control and automatic display rotation. It is available as a commercial, off-the-shelf tablet, or it can be semi or fully customized for application-specific needs.
InHand created a handheld display head for the Wolfhound device. The display head provides a touch-screen LCD in a durable, lightweight package tethered to the main Wolfhound unit, enabling users to easily interact with the system while in environmentally harsh (e.g. wet, hot, cold, humid and/or dirty) conditions. Incorporating an integral GPS for geolocation, the system detects signals of interest and visualizes the information on the handheld display.
The Wolfhound display head required a lightweight material (for portability) that was also tough and satisfied MIL-SPECs. To help achieve this, the display head relies on the superior properties of Makrolon(®) 9415 polycarbonate.
"These applications benefit from the customization options and outstanding toughness of the polycarbonate, as well as its processability," said Kevin Dunay, market segment manager, Electrical, IT & Appliance, Polycarbonates - North America, Bayer MaterialScience LLC. "With the injection molding process, InHand had various options for the geometry of the final product design. This design freedom was another important consideration for selecting Makrolon(®) plastic."

New RF Signal Generator Series from Tektronix Leads the Industry in Price-Performance
New TSG4100A Vector Signal Generator Meets Growing Need for More Affordable Mid-Range RF Test and Measurement solutions
BEAVERTON, Ore., March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tektronix, Inc., a leading worldwide provider of test, measurement and monitoring instrumentation, today introduced the TSG4100A series of signal generators. The TSG4100A is a vector signal generator (VSG) at the affordable price of a basic signal generator. The new RF signal generator complements other leading mid-range RF test solutions from Tektronix, such as the USB-based RSA306 spectrum analyzer, MDO4000B and MDO3000 mixed domain oscilloscopes. The TSG4100A is the first vector RF signal generator from a tier-one vendor with a price point of less than $15,000.
RF signal generators are widely used in product design, testing and manufacturing. Until now, RF engineers and technicians had to choose between basic RF signal generators or far more expensive vector signal generators (VSG). The TSG4100A offers a VSG at an affordable RF signal generator price. Further, as an engineer's needs change, the TSG4100A can be easily upgraded in the field to deliver more advanced vector and digital modulation capabilities.
"There is a clear need in wireless design and manufacturing for test solutions that are more affordable and still meet demanding requirements," said James McGillivary, general manager of RF and Component Solutions at Tektronix. "Tektronix first made huge strides in filling this void with the highly disruptive RSA306 USB-based spectrum analyzer. Now we are continuing this momentum with the TSG4100A that offers unbeatable price performance in an RF vector signal generator."
Great RF Performance
The TSG4100A series includes three models with carrier frequencies from DC to 2.0 GHz, 4.0 GHz and 6.0 GHz respectively. The instruments provide spur-free outputs with low phase noise (-113 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz), outstanding amplitude accuracy (<+/- 0.4 dB at 1 GHz, 0dBm CW signal from +16dBm to -100 dBm level range) and excellent frequency resolution (1 Hz at any frequency). An oven-controlled crystal oscillator time-base provides <±0.002 ppm temperature stability and <±0.05 ppm aging stability, the most accurate and stable available for a mid-range signal generator.
Analog Modulation
TSG4100A signal generators offer a wide variety of modulation capabilities. Modes include amplitude modulation (AM), frequency modulation (FM), phase modulation ( M), and pulse modulation. There is an internal modulation source as well as an external modulation input. Unlike most analog signal generators, the TSG4100A can sweep continuously from DC to 62.5 MHz. And for frequencies above 62.5 MHz, each sweep range covers more than an octave.
Vector Modulation
Units can be software upgraded to support VSG applications. With the vector upgrade, TSG4100A series offers full support for vector signal modulation on RF carriers between 400 MHz and 6.0 GHz. It features a dual, arbitrary waveform generator operating at 125 MHz for baseband signal generation. The generator has built-in support for the most common vector modulation schemes: ASK, QPSK, DQPSK, /4 DQPSK, 8PSK, FSK, CPM, QAM (4 to 256), 8VSB, and 16VSB. It also includes the standard pulse shaping filters used in digital communications: raised cosine, root-raised cosine, Gaussian, rectangular, triangular, and more. For additional flexibility, the rear-panel BNC I/Q modulation inputs support arbitrary vector modulation from an external source.
Pricing & Availability
The TSG4100A series will be available beginning in March 2015 worldwide. Prices start at $7,300 for entry level configurations. A mid-level vector 4 GHz signal generator is priced at $9,320. All prices are US MSRP.

IBM Helps Developers Design Mobile Apps for People with Disabilities
BARCELONA, Spain, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS -- IBM (NYSE: IBM) researchers have created a new tool for iOS and Android(TM) mobile applications expected to potentially benefit as many as one billion people with disabilities worldwide, including those who are vision and hearing impaired, as well as the elderly. The new Mobile Accessibility Checker is an automated test to help strengthen the accessibility features of mobile applications.
"Mobile technology has sparked a new era of opportunity for people of all ages and abilities, yet many mobile apps have design flaws that prevent people with disabilities and the elderly from using them effectively," said Frances West, IBM Chief Accessibility Officer. "Our researchers saw an opportunity to address this by inventing technology that identifies and corrects usability issues early in the software development process. This makes mobile apps easier to use for people with disabilities, helps developers save on costs and satisfy compliance requirements, and drives greater inclusivity in our communities through mobile technology."
Mobile Accessibility Checker helps developers identify and correct usability issues early in development to deliver an optimized mobile user experience. The tool automatically alerts developers to accessibility breaches, such as color contrasting and keyboard navigation and focus, and recommends corrections to help developers adhere to industry standards and government regulations. Current accessibility tools can only check for one breach element at a time and do not account for individuals with poor vision, so the contrast is not adjusted. In addition, control spacing, button size and font size are not accounted for in current tools.
As a part of the Mobile Accessibility Checker rollout, IBM is collaborating with SSB BART Group, an accessibility software and services organization, to create a new mobile accessibility management platform utilizing Mobile Accessibility Checker. The SSB BART Accessibility Management Platform for Mobile integrates IBM's Mobile Accessibility Checker to produce an automated testing engine for native mobile applications and mobile web content, designed to increase the user experience on both iOS and Android devices.
IBM Mobile Accessibility Checker is also available as a service or software component from IBM.
More than 60 percent of the world's population uses a mobile device every day, whether it's for shopping, catching up on news, checking email, listening to music, or simply texting and making calls. Mobile application usage grew 76 percent in 2014 according to Yahoo! Flurry Analytics and as of July 2014, 1.3 million mobile apps were available through Android and 1.2 million through Apple's App Store.

Tegile Systems Chosen for More-Compelling Features, Lower Price Point than Dell for University of Northwestern - St. Paul
NEWARK, Calif., March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Tegile Systems, the leading provider of flash-driven storage arrays for databases, virtualized server and virtual desktop environments, today announced that University of Northwestern - St. Paul has updated and upgraded its storage infrastructure with an estimated $200,000 5-year total cost of ownership savings over an alternative Dell Compellent system.
University of Northwestern - St. Paul (UNW) is a private, not-for-profit Christian liberal arts school located in the Twin Cities suburbs of Roseville and Arden Hills, Minnesota. Founded in 1902, the school offers more than 70 areas of undergraduate study with six master's degree programs to more than 3,300 students. With four straight years of growth in student enrollment and a Dell Compellent storage system that was exhibiting reliability issues at the end of its service lifecycle, the university looked for a replacement that would upgrade its current feature set and functionality while remaining within the constraints of a limited budget many educational institutions face today.
"Originally, Dell was the only vendor we were going to look at just because they've been in here so long and they had been pretty reliable up until that last year or so," said Chad Miller, Technical Director at the university. "But once we started dealing with them we realized that we were going to be getting essentially the same technology that we already had in place - it was updated and there was some new functionality but there was nothing that was really compelling. And the price point was really quite high. So we thought, 'You know what? We need to take a step back and look at other vendors.'"
UNW needed a storage solution at a good price point that could do both iSCSI and Fibre Channel, offered compression and deduplication data optimization, and could provide replication to its disaster recovery site, which at that point had been underutilized because the school couldn't afford an additional SAN there. After a recommendation by a storage expert at its VAR, Cambridge Computing, the university decided to implement Intelligent Flash Arrays from Tegile.
Tegile's Intelligent Flash Arrays allow customers to choose a flash storage solution that is right for them. The company's hybrid arrays are faster than legacy arrays and less expensive that all-flash arrays to provide the ideal balance of performance and cost for a wide range of consolidated and virtualized business workloads.
Going with Tegile allowed the school to get the new features it was looking for at an extremely low price point, which enabled it to add a SAN at its DR site. Miller said the university was able to save $35,000 a year on support alone with nearly $200,000 TCO savings over sticking with Dell. The school also reduced its floor space requirements by 75 percent with substantial savings on power as well. Inline deduplication and compression reduced the amount of data under management by 40 percent. VM boot times in the 100 percent virtualized environment improved by as much as 20 percent reducing complaints from users.
"The combination of budget cuts and declining enrollment due to rising tuition costs can severely limit what educational institutions are able to do with improving their storage infrastructures," said Rob Commins, vice president of marketing at Tegile. "The ability to not only refresh but improve those infrastructures is imperative for schools looking to offer students a technology-rich learning environment. We're glad that the University of Northwestern - St. Paul, like many of our higher education customers, was able to accelerate access to student and academic applications while lowering their storage footprint and operational costs through the implementation of Tegile Intelligent Flash Arrays."
About Tegile Systems
Tegile Systems is pioneering a new generation of intelligent flash arrays that balance performance, capacity, features and price for virtual desktop and database applications. With Tegile's line of all-flash and hybrid storage arrays, the company is redefining the traditional approach to storage by providing a family of arrays that accelerate business critical enterprise applications and allow customers to significantly consolidate mixed workloads in virtualized environments.
Tegile's patented IntelliFlash(TM) technology accelerates performance and enables inline deduplication and compression of data so each array has a usable capacity far greater than its raw capacity. Tegile's award-winning solutions enable customers to better address the requirements of virtualization, virtual desktop integration and database integration than any other offerings. Featuring both NAS and SAN connectivity, Tegile arrays are easy-to-use, fully redundant and highly scalable. They come complete with built-in snapshot, remote-replication, near-instant recovery, onsite or offsite failover, and VM-aware features. Additional information is available at http://www.tegile.com. Precession Advances Medical Imaging by Delivering a Complete Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Platform in a Web Browser
DURHAM, N.C., March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- HeartIT is pleased to officially announce the release of Precession(TM), the first Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Solution in the market which allows Viewing, Analysis, and Reporting all within a standard web browser. Precession(TM) combines zero footprint web technology along with communication and distribution features unmatched in the industry. This provides CMR professionals with a single solution capable of managing all the critical functions of a successful CMR program.
Precession(TM) embraces recent improvements in web technology and enables new functionality never available in the daily workflow of CMR Professionals. In addition to viewing, analysis and reporting capabilities, Precession(TM) offers real time collaboration functionality allowing geographically separated colleagues to interact with each other while navigating studies series by series, even illustrating cardiac findings on each other's desktops.
Further, because Precession(TM) CMR Reporting provides comprehensive structured reports, extensive research and data mining can be achieved by those same colleagues, helping to promote and advance the CMR medical imaging modality.
Brent Reed, Chief Technology Officer, said, "We're very excited to make Precession available for CMR physicians around the world as it has always been a challenge to perform CMR procedures efficiently. An exam doesn't end when the patient leaves the scanner. Analyzing the procedure, reporting any findings, and getting the information back to your colleague or referring physician takes considerable time and effort. Precession streamlines the entire process and combines functions in a single, intuitive platform."
Bilal Mir, Senior Account Manager, stated, "Precession does help reduce operation costs for CMR programs by combining all of the required daily functions involved in CMR into a single, low cost platform. Typically CMR programs use two or three different software programs to perform their analysis. One of the functions that is usually missing from those programs is a method to close the loop with referring physicians. Precession allows a CMR physician within a hospital to engage a colleague outside of that hospital and interact with a case simultaneously. This kind of functionality has the potential to revolutionize CMR."
Precession is powered by WebPAX(® )Technology.

KeyPoint Technologies, world leader in linguistics and user-interface technology, has
introduced India's first Indic keyboard, Lipi, on Android devices. Lipi supports 25 major
Indic languages and 11 transliterated languages like Hinglish, Marathinglish, Punglish,

"With Lipi we are making technology and innovation accessible to larger sections of
the Indian population," said Sumit Goswami, CEO of KeyPoint Technologies. "Acceptance and
use of local languages on a large scale is a key element for Internet adoption in India.
Although India is still at a nascent stage, it is one of the largest markets for
vernacular content over smart devices."
"KeyPoint Technologies understands that localized tools are critical and helps OEMs to
aggressively increase smartphone penetration in tier-two and tier-three markets, where
users typically communicate in multiple regional languages. Localization is a cultural
adaptation of an entire product to serve the needs and taste of users in a specific
region. It is just not about a keyboard but the entire user-experience around Indic
languages."
According to TRAI report
[http://trai.gov.in/WriteReadData/WhatsNew/Documents/quarterly%20press%20release%20-final.pdf ]
less than 30 percent of the Indian population is estimated to be fluent or
comfortable in English. Hence, there is an opportunity to tap a wider user-base in a
variety of vernacular languages to aid users' comprehension and increase their comfort
factor.

Innovative App Determines Prostate Cancer Risk Level
AARAU, Switzerland, March 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
App for individualized prostate cancer prevention opens up new possibilities
The ProstateCheck app promotes early detection of the dangerous disease and helps to
prevent unnecessary screenings by extending previous check-up intervals of one year for
75% of men by up to seven years. It creates a risk analysis within seconds and therefore
allows general practitioners, specialists and private individuals to get a quick, reliable
analysis.
"The ProstateCheck app is intended to remind men of their prostate cancer screening
early on", explains Prof. Dr. Franz Recker, Chairman of the Swiss Prostate Cancer Research
Foundation and Head of Urology at the Aarau Cantonal Hospital. "At the same time, it is
important that we don't screen everybody annually but instead focus on those who are at
risk." ProstateCheck, which was co-developed by Dr. Recker and his colleague Dr. Maciej
Kwiatkowski, prevents unnecessary examinations, for not every tumor that is detected early
on needs to be treated. Between 30% and 40% of men will have tumor cells in their prostate
at some point that do not require treatment. However, every day 6,000 men worldwide
develop a malignant tumor in their prostate. Often it is detected in a later stage, which
causes success rates for treatment to sink drastically.
The app is based on the most comprehensive long-term study of prostate cancer
screenings in the German-speaking region and calculates the likelihood of prostate cancer
based on the user's individual, medical data that he receives during an ordinary check-up.
Alongside required information such as the PSA level and the user's age, information about
any family history of prostate cancer, the results of the palpation, and the volume of the
prostate increase the precision of the ProstateCheck prognosis. Based on the user's
information, the app uses specially developed algorithms to calculate the probability of a
malignant tumor. Besides, the probability of the user developing prostate cancer in the
next four, eight and twelve years is calculated. The app can extend the amount of time
between screenings by up to seven years. The resulting reduction in the frequency of
prostate examinations will serve to increase the efficiency of medical screening
processes, reduce unnecessary diagnoses, and greatly reduce the cost burden on the
health-care system.
The ProstateCheck app is available for download from 2 Euros in the Apple App Store
and the Google Play Store for Android devices. The app is available in English, German,
Hindi, Chinese, Arabic and Spanish. For journalists the app comes along with a Free Code.

Sunpartner Technologies Increases Performance in its LiFi Receiver, Wysips® Connect, to Meet the Needs of its Partner ALCATEL ONETOUCH
BARCELONA, March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
- MOBILE WORLD CONGRESS 2015
Last year at Mobile World Congress 2014, Sunpartner Technologies, the French
specialist in innovative solar solutions, unveiled the world's first photovoltaic LiFi
receiver: Wysips(R)Connect. Today, the company is developing this ground-breaking
technology with CEA-Leti, a French public research institute.
To further optimize the receiver's capacity, a 12-month, international development
program will be launched in early 2015 with the one of the fastest smartphone brand,
ALCATEL ONETOUCH. This joint venture shows that leaders in research and in business are
convinced of Wysips(R) Connect's advantages.
Wysips(R) Connect is currently the only LiFi technology in existence that enables
screens and mobile devices (phones, e-readers, sensors, electronic shelf tags, watches,
etc.) to charge their batteries and receive data using visible light waves (VLC-Visible
Light Communication) without tapping into the device's battery - meaning the LiFi
connection powers itself.
Recently, LiFi has captured the attention of the largest smartphone manufacturers such
as ALCATEL ONETOUCH. In fact, Sunpartner is the first and only company to date that has
succeeded in making a photovoltaic receiver able to receive all types of LiFi signals.
This receiver is essential for converting the visible light waves produced by LEDs into
electronic signals. This signal is then decoded into an audio, text or video file on
connected devices (such as mobile phones, tablets, sensors, electronic shelf tags, and
smartwatches). Totally unique, this photovoltaic component is ultra-thin and transparent.
It is integrated during manufacturing between the screen and the touchscreen layer of a
mobile phone, tablet, or other device.
A Promising International Research Program
The year-long joint research program with ALCATEL ONETOUCH will enable Sunpartner
Technologies to offer new video playback features from mobile devices over LiFi.
The first phase will take advantage of the expertise and facilities of CEA-Leti, which
specializes in micro- and nano-technologies applied to wireless communication systems and
components, in order to characterize the Wysips(R) Connect component and increase its data
transfer speed.
The goal: enable users to stream and watch compressed, high-definition playback of any
video over a LiFi connection. This feature is of particular interest for ALCATEL ONETOUCH,
who cares about end users' experience and strives to bring the best technology to the mass
market.
With this program, Sunpartner Technologies positions itself at the forefront of
creating the LiFi Internet. In 2 to 3 years, LiFi networks will free up companies' crowded
Wi-Fi networks, and LiFi will be introduced in hospitals, sensitive sites like nuclear
power plants, aircraft fleets, and shopping centers for a start.

Fujitsu M10 UNIX Server Achieves World-Record Performance Once Again on Two-Tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark with 20% Less CPU Resources
Result underscores that Fujitsu M10, with Oracle Solaris and the highly scalable Oracle Database 12c, is well-suited for large-scale, mission-critical applications
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu today announced that the Fujitsu M10-4S UNIX(®) server running Oracle Solaris(®) 11 and Oracle Database 12c set a new world record (as of December 2, 2014) on the two-tier SAP(®) Sales and Distribution (SD) standard application benchmark, achieving 153,050 SAP SD benchmark users (*1) with 20 percent fewer CPUs than in the previous world record result achieved by the Fujitsu M10-4S configuration, also on the two-tier SAP SD benchmark (*2).
The Fujitsu M10 (*3) has achieved several world records (*4) in the past, namely, in April 2014, on benchmark tests for integer arithmetic performance (SPECint(®)_rate2006), floating-point arithmetic performance (SPECfp(®)_rate2006) and memory access performance (STREAM Triad). This new result on the two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark further underscores that the Fujitsu M10-4S, running Oracle Solaris, together with the scalability of Oracle Database 12c, delivers excellent performance for large-scale, mission-critical applications.
The two-tier SAP SD standard application benchmark running SAP enhancement package 5 for the SAP ERP application 6.0 tallies the number of simulated users that simultaneously access the system and obtains a response within one second. This benchmark was designed with enterprise users in mind, and because it measures the performance of actual systems, which are a combination of business applications, databases and platforms, it can be considered as an effective index for enterprise system platform selection in general, not necessarily limited to SAP ERP.
Measurements were conducted using a Fujitsu M10-4S with 32 SPARC64(®) X+ processors developed by Fujitsu running Oracle Database 12c, the latest version from Oracle. These results show that world-record performance can be attained while using 20 percent fewer CPU resources than in the previous world record configuration, which was a Fujitsu M10-4S with 40 SPARC64 X processors (*2).
The multitenant architecture of Oracle Database 12c is especially notable for its efficient use of resources and its outstanding scalability. These results demonstrate how well these features are matched to the Fujitsu M10-4S's CPU core activation and dynamic scaling capabilities.
This latest result is the product of Fujitsu's long and productive collaboration with Oracle and SAP. Based on this ongoing relationship, Fujitsu will continue to help deliver optimal platforms to customers.
Overview of the Fujitsu M10
The Fujitsu M10-4S includes a CPU Activation feature with a granularity of 2 CPU cores, making it easy and economical for customers to match CPU resources to business needs. Its building-block design allows customers to start with a minimal configuration (4U rack-mount chassis with four CPU cores) and incrementally build up to 64 CPUs to easily meet increasing business requirements. This outstanding expandability and flexibility greatly contributes to optimizing customer TCO.
