Plusnet Boosts Broadband Proposition With New Fibre Speeds

Negotiating Price Worst Part of Buying a New Car; Lowest Interest Rate Most Important Auto Financing Consideration, According to Consumers
CarFinance.com survey finds consumers apprehensive about new car price negotiations and low interest rates; offers car buying and auto finance tips to simplify process
IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In part two of a recent survey from CarFinance.com, a website dedicated to providing lending to below-prime consumers and a resource for consumers seeking auto financing information, respondents ranked negotiating the sales price as the worst part of buying a new car (62 percent), while getting the lowest possible interest rate was ranked as the most important part of the auto financing process.
The snapshot survey, which was conducted online among over 2,000 consumers(1), also found that arranging/negotiating financing ranked as the second-worst part of buying a new car (57 percent) behind negotiating price, while getting the lowest possible interest rate (37 percent) and lowest monthly payment (30 percent) trumped other important factors such as convenience and privacy... even getting approved.
"Despite a positive lending climate and a surge in new car sales this year, the challenges of getting the best price and interest rate still preoccupy car buyers," said Jim Landy, CEO of CarFinance.com. "These factors shouldn't roadblock someone from getting the car they want, however. A little bit of homework can really help expand a consumer's auto purchase and finance options, especially in this post-recession upswing."

When asked to rank the facets of their last car buying experience on a scale of 1 - 4 (with 1 being "best" and 4 being "worst") respondents indicated researching vehicle makes and models and shopping and test driving were the best at 66 percent and 60 percent respectively. Negotiating the car sale/price and arranging/negotiating financing were ranked worst at 62 percent and 57 percent respectively.

When asked what was most important regarding the auto financing process, over two-thirds of respondents said the lowest possible interest rate and lowest monthly payment were most important (37 and 30 percent respectively), above other considerations such as saving time, getting approved or privacy.

New TÜV SÜD Service Stops Wireless Devices Interfering With Radar
FAREHAM, England, August 22, 2012/PRNewswire/ --
TÜV SÜD Product Service today launches the UK's first Dynamic Frequency Selection
(DFS) service using a single-test box, to ensure that new wireless devices operating in
the 5GHz band do not interfere with radar systems.
As the 2.4 GHz spectrum becomes increasingly overloaded, wireless device and mobile
phone manufacturers are developing products for the less populated 5GHz range, which is
currently allocated to military and airport radar. DFS stops such devices affecting radar
systems as it continuously monitors for potential interference, ceasing transmission and
switching to an alternative channel if it detects radar presence.
The new TÜV SÜD service is up to 60 per cent faster than traditional methods of DFS
testing as it uses a new single-test platform designed and made in the UK by Aeroflex.
This means that manufacturers of wireless devices and mobile phones will significantly
reduce time to market for new products.

American Red Cross Launches Redesigned Redcross.org
WASHINGTON, Aug. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The American Red Cross has rolled out a redesigned website, redcross.org, to enable people to easily find help and to empower them to help others through their donations of time, blood or money. The redesigned site also provides a better user experience for people who want to take a Red Cross course and be prepared for emergencies.

more relevant. For example, a person in a state impacted by wildfires
may have a different site experience than a person in a state affected
by floods.
-- An improved financial donation process and online course scheduling
experience, which includes the ability to search for courses by

and donations and know the impact that they have made. They can also
manage their profile and billing information, including their monthly
donations, and manage their course registrations online.
-- The integration of Red Cross content from across the country. Over time,
a site visitor will see the impact that their local Red Cross is having
in their community, as well as learn how the Red Cross is responding to
disasters nationally and internationally.
-- A new mobile-optimized site. The Red Cross needs to be wherever people
go, which makes mobile optimization and other mobile activities vital to
the Red Cross.
The launch of the redesigned website follows the recently released Red Cross First Aid App, as well as a new Hurricane App, which have both achieved an average 4.0/5.0 user rating so far.
